Abby is librarian in a small town in the Midwest USA. One of her interests is posting videos of interpretive dance that she makes as book reviews. One of her recent videos has unexpectedly gone viral. A very positive person, she is also cautious and shy, and so she has never spoken in her videos.
Blythe is a content creator about two hours drive from Abby. She has been posting for a number of years, and although she is well known, she has never gone viral. Seeing Abby’s videos, she reaches out to try to help her own ratings by linking up with Abby.
Ricki is Blythe’s best friend and videographer, and co-conspirator in some very madcap video making (usually Blythe’s ideas). However, Ricki is never heard or seen on camera. Her camera work is exceptional, getting the best angles and light for atmospheric content. A history major, she now works a stressful job in marketing.
This story seems to be in two distinct scenes, before the big surprise, and after it. I am not saying what the surprise is, because of spoilers, but I did have an inkling…
Near the beginning of the story I though Blythe was a terrible person. Narcissistic, but some of that may just have been her total indifference to the feelings of others. But later we see that her surface indifference hides a very deep and caring person. Sometimes I hated her, but there are other times when she is really thoughtful, especially about Ricki. Another plus point was her obvious deep care for many people in her online community, going out of her way to check in on them.
I love the bookish nerdiness of both Abby and Ricki, their energy is quite similar. However we never really get Ricki’s perspective, so it’s harder to tell how she is feeling. But from the sections written from the perspectives of both Abby and Blythe, we see she cares a lot for both of them.
Abby starts as a very nervous, shy, and overthinking woman, but really gets her personal strength by the end of the story. She seems to be the one with the strongest character arc, and the one pushing herself furthest from her comfort zone.
All in all, each of the three women here are beautiful people, caring and thoughtful, but each in a different way, and Rita Potter’s individual characterisations show this clearly, making the reader fall more in love with each woman for different reasons.
This is a story that I considered stopping near the beginning, as I wasn’t really grabbed by it; it didn’t seem to have an immediate ‘hook’ to pull the readers in, as so many other stories do. However, the more I read, the more I wanted to keep reading. By the end I really wished there was more to read. A really excellent story.

What a FUN BOOK!! I love the interaction between Blythe Willoughby, her best friend Ricki Jameson and Abby Wilder! Blythe is a content creator, Ricki is her videographer and Abby is a librarian who has mistakenly become a content creator. When Blythe and Abby get together to create content of their dating, the 3 women have a great time. We go along for the ride. I LOVE THIS BOOK! A FAVORITE! 5 stars!

So good!
What a great book! I stayed up till 3am to finish it! The dynamic of the 3 MCs was great and loved their interactions. This is the authors first book with spice and it was epic!! The spice was flaming hot! The turn the book took made my heart all warm and fuzzy!

I'll be honest, for the first 15% or so of this book, I was contemplating a DNF because I did not like Blythe at all (nor is she interesting), and the way she tramples all over her doormat librarian girlfriend, Abby, made me super uncomfortable. I'm glad I persisted, though, because there is a great deal of growth and some fun twists that ended up making this an engaging and fun story (and even Blythe the self-involved shows growth).

What a great read! From page one this story hooked me. Maybe it was the setting, social media and all its ups and downs. It definitely is an interesting topic and one we're always hearing about in the media and socially. More likely it was the 3 very natural and realistic characters who are brought together because of it.
I have to admit Blythe and her addiction to attention is a little annoying however, by the end of the book, the depth of her character shone through and garnered my respect. Beautiful, unworldly Abby, the quintessential Librarian character, albeit with a bit of a wild streak, is delightful. And Ricki, the reliable and dedicated go between is definitely the hero of the story. She is just beautiful.
The twists in the plot were very well crafted, as is usual for this author. Rita Potter has a way of intricately linking social commentary on a range of issues into her stories without you realising it until you've finished the book and then you find yourself mulling over the issues in days that follow.
I learned so much about the world of social media and the way it impacts people both negatively and positively. Potter definitely knows her subject well and is generous in sharing the knowledge.
And the love triangle that organically unfolds is handled with such honesty and clarity that it felt like I was feeling the feels not just reading about them.
I have to mention Madeline, Abby's best friend. She is without a doubt a ray of sunshine that sits in the wings waiting to pop in and add harmony (and a little glitter!!) to Abby's world.

Another hit from Rita Potter
Loved this book! I don't understand how people can want to be content creditors so this book was fascinating. Blythe who changed her name to be more interesting is totally focused on being successful electronically. Abby has come to it by accident. Blythe, Abby and ricki are a great trio with amazing banter. I love everything Rita potter has written. Her variety of plot and setting are fascinating. The characters are complex and rich. Don't miss this fun and heartwarming book.

Abby, a small town librarian, has unexpectedly gone viral via her YouTube videos. (She does book reviews via dance. Seriously.) Her friend Madeline is more into the popularity thing than she is.
Blythe, a influencer, is intrigued by her, plus she thinks Abby is cute. They exchange messages, tho Abby isn't sure quite what to make of it. Eventually tho, they agree to meet.
Blythe's bestie Ricki does a lot of filming for her, and she treats her pretty badly IMHO. Certainly she's taken for granted, as she works full time AND films for her.
Blythe stages their entire first meeting. Yikes. Abby is too nice to refuse. She also hits it of with Ricki, who's also a reader and very nice. We also hear about Ricki's deceased Granny, who's a hoot. House tour, Ricki has a library pretty much, Blythe and Abby do not sleep together.
Blythe wants Ricki along to film their whole day together. And dinner date. Double yikes.
Abby makes a few more visits, getting to know Blythe and Ricki better. And continuing to film content for Blythe. Abby admits to Ricki that she's no longer as into filming her dancing bits, but doesn't want to quit.
A influencer Blythe follows has a online meltdown. Blythe takes it in stride, but Abby is shaken.
Blythe finally visits Abby at her home, and they meet Madeline. Before that Madeline points out that Abby needs to assert herself more.
Sudden Ricki, Abby & Blythe threesome! Which ends super awkward.
Abby realizes she's fallen for Ricki, but isn't sure how to handle it. Madeline hears her out and points out she talks about Ricki much more than Blythe.
Blythe realizes Ricki is in love with Abby, so breaks up with her. Ricki is not happy she did that, even if it was for her. Blythe also milks the breakup online for content. UGH.
Ricki shows up at the library to see Abby. Confesses, wrap up...

July 8, 2026I am given to understand that this author doesn't typically do pure romance stories. However, they have begun to venture into that territory with a few stories. I read another one by her and have come to the conclusion that she is not for me.
She writes MCs that are hard to like, and tries to redeem them. (Nothing wrong with that. I love ice queens etc.) She also seems prone to the old bait and switch as far as love interests go. (As I am to understand from reading spoilered reviews this book is even more so than the other.) I want to know who it is that I'm rooting for from the beginning. I don't want to be guessing who is the love interest in a romance story. No thanks.

And I was getting serious side eye about Ricki and her whole thing with Abby. The synopsis barely even mentions her. And not in the way it probably should. Again, I want to root for the winning team from the start, not hope that someone becomes better and puts in the work only for something else to happen.

A Story That Was Really “Unfiltered”!
I gave this book five stars. It was creative and fits in the world we live in. The three main characters as individuals were choreographed well. Their personalities presented them with the best possible way of expressing themselves in the storyline. I loved the ending. I am not a fan of these stories that push viral content. It is an absolute classic way to exploit and bully one’s way through life on social media. This story was meant to be entertaining and it was to a fault. Maybe it is my age and maturity that keeps me wondering why. Rita potter is a fantastic writer who has put out stories that are exciting and inspiring. This just fell a little short for me.

Unexpected
I found the premise of this story interesting enough that I decided to give the book a try. Then Blythe's character had me thinking I made a mistake. Thankfully, Abby and Rikki's characters saved the day. This was a romance that went in an expected direction but in an unexpected way. Definitely worth the read

From the book's synopsis, I had assumed it would be a funny "opposites attract" story. While the book is certainly funny, the story takes a different turn. It was unusual, but I really enjoyed it.

I love how Abby met the best friends and how it meant to be in the end. I do really enjoy this and the hot spice of it was amazing too. Kudos for Rita Potter.

This author is not known for spice, but WOW. On her first shot at it she hit it out of the park. I won’t give any spoilers, but I did not see that coming, and I was there for it 100%.

Rita Potter is a great voice emerging as one of the most prolific authors with a clear voice where you know it is a Potter book.
