Read it, loved it, recommend it. That’s the short version.
But this book is so awesome. Poppy is a sassy, tough, has some trauma, and a family that she is killing herself to please. Then there is Brontë. I need him in my life. You need him in your life. This man. Phewwwwww. He has a job, he reads, he binds books?! Come on. And then, he says stuff like this? “And I will love her long after the seas have dried to deserts and this planet burns to nothing but ash and smoke.” Yea. One please. This book kept me on my toes and had me swinging my arm to defend characters and also wanting to swing on them. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book.
Ink Bleed hooks you from the prologue and the twist & turns keeps you guessing until the very end. I did not want to put it down! This was such a good read. Can’t wait for the next in the series!😮💨
I was lucky to be able to be an arc reader for this book. I have been so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. Trinity is such a good writer and she knows how to put words together. The spice scenes weren’t too vulgar, they actually were put together so well and made you feel something. This is a true enemies to lovers slow burn story. I’m not always here for a slow burn but this one was done right and it kept me engaged throughout. We have a badass FMC and a MMC. So many twist and turns and it sets us up for the books to come which I’m so excited to read them all. Trinity has brought something new with this story and I can’t wait til everyone else reads it. Poppy and Brontë is the new iconic duo 💖
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book has a little bit of everything, and I loved this journey!
Poppy is such a fierce character, which we learn right from the prologue, and it immediately had me hooked. She’s lethal yet charismatic, with a great sense of humour.
Obviously, we knew they would fall in love, but the way Brontë protects her so violently and then cares for her so gently afterwards had my heart in a vice.
And an honourable mention to her pet companion 😍
The spicy scenes were really well written, though I would advise reading the content warnings at the start of the book so you can be at least semi-prepared.
I believe this is my first dark romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I often find contemporary romance a little too predictable. It’s usually a nice story, but sometimes it’s missing the excitement. This had twists like you wouldn’t believe. Some had me thinking “oh okay 👀”… but one near the end genuinely made me gasp out loud, and then right at the end… damn. I did not see that coming.
The whole thing is so eloquently written. Trinity’s use of language really paints a picture, and I cannot wait for book two!
This book pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let go once. The heiress tied to a criminal underworld, a coroner carrying far too many hidden truths, and danger threaded through every corner made for a story that constantly kept me gripped. The banter is sharp, witty, and perfectly timed.. those little moments that make you giggle right before the tension tightens again. I kept swinging between smiling at their exchanges and immediately questioning everyone in sight because no one ever feels entirely safe or straightforward here (never…). Poppy and Bronte’s dynamic had me completely invested. I loved following them as they clashed, connected, and slowly became something far more complicated than just hunter and prey (if ever one of them can be considered prey..). At the same time, I found myself trying to piece everything together like the story was constantly shifting and the clues were always lopsided. I finished this and immediately wanted more. Obsessed and fully impatient for the next installment of Divine Villains..
Wow.. THE AUDACITY! Ink Bleed is on a whole different level. This is gloves off violence and spice, where dark is a massive understatement in all the right ways. This one is for those of us who like it rough.. like disturbingly rough.. With strong characters, a riveting plot, intellectual writing, a complete lack of cheap shot storytelling, and a perfectly immersible setting, this story is off to an incredible start.
In a world where everything is a rip off of what came before, it is so refreshing to experience something new and unique. It's as if the training wheels were ripped off the genre with this book. Trinity, thank you so much for setting a new standard with such a twisted tale. I couldn't put it down, and I can't wait for more!
I was allowed to read this book in advance, and what can I say? I'm absolutely thrilled! If you're looking for a classic love story, this isn't for you. This is dark romance at its best, darkest, and most original.
The dynamic between Poppy and Brontë is electric from the very first second. Poppy is an incredibly strong, badass FMC, and Brontë, as a morally grey coroner with his special Etsy hobby, is a brilliant character (How could you make me fall for a French Man 🫣🖤). The slow development of their love story feels completely authentic and intense despite the extreme circumstances. They are both "monsters" in their own way, but together they are simply perfect.
Would definitely recommend it, can't wait to have a physical copy in my hands 🔥
10/10 this was my first ARC read and it did not disappoint. I’m not ashamed to say once I started it yesterday I couldn’t put it down. It had me on edge through the whole thing and I loved it. I’ve never wished I could read a book for the first time again until this one. The story line was insane and unlike anything I’ve read before and I was here for it. I won’t be giving anything away but when I say this is a must for everyone’s TBR list I mean it.
Well I certainly didn't see that ending coming. The way Trinity keeps you on the edge of your seat with the roller coaster of emotions was absolutely top tier. From the very beginning, it was very reminiscent of Brynne Weaver, with a very similar feel in the dynamic between Poppy and Bronte. From the very first unaliving to the rescue mission, I needed more, more, more. I absolutely would recommend to friends and family.
Take the Mob Boss Daughter and the Coroner and what a mash up you have there!!! Loved the little nods to other books (ice cream) and you get a good little chuckle. The storyline grabs you and you wanna see where it goes. And it takes you on a ride. And then the twist happens. I can’t wait for book 2. Didn’t wanna give away any spoilers here. But if you like dark romance definitely add this to your TBR. It is worth the read!! 5 stars!!! @trinitylynn_author
This book combined many of my favorite themes into one spell binding tale. It left me wanting more especially after the last few sentences in the epilogue... can we say plot twist?
