3.5 I thought this was a well written, quick read. I kept seeing snippets advertised and I was curious enough to find out exactly what the hero did. MC books make me scared

Definitely spoilers ahead

Josie and Viking have been married a few years and have a 4 year old. They have a great relationship. Vik is dealing with a lot since he’s the president of the MC club. He trying to turn them legit. Vik and Josie plan to have another baby.

Vik goes out of town. Josie works in a salon and she went to the clubhouse one day and there was this kid hanging around outside. The kid is Vik’s son 😱 that he has no idea about. The kid is 14 and his mom had just died.

Vik is SURPRISED and well, Josie is upset. The OW was a club girl at one time (way before Josie entered the picture) and Vik did have a relationship with her until he caught her shagging one of his club brothers. A couple months later, she told Vik she was pregnant and he was the dad. He’s like “how do I know I’m the dad?” And he mentioned he wanted DNA. She was insulted and left. Never contacted him again in 15 years.

So, OW was not that great of a mom. Lots of boyfriends, moved often, the kid was behind in school, etc….She eventually OD’d.
Poor kid! He’s been through it.

Josie and Vik’s relationship is very strained. I really didn’t understand why she was so mad tbh, because he really didn’t do anything super awful. Sure, he should have checked in more with the OW. Josie’s anger makes more sense later when she explains about HER past with her dad. She kind of went through the same things the kid did.

It was nice to read an MC book where the characters acted like actual adults. I was interested enough in the side characters and the 2 “old ladies” already established from book 1 and 2. I plan to go back and read those.

The relationship between the 14 year old kid and his new 4 year old sister was sweet. I did like how Vik stepped up for his kid right away.

This may be a short book but it has spice. The only thing I didn’t care for was Vik calling Josie “mama” but that’s a ME thing.

There is some side drama going on with the mayor and the police. I assume that’s setting up for the rest of the series.

ARC Review-

This book delivers that gut-punch kind of emotional chaos where everything you thought was stable suddenly isn’t.

Josephine (Josie) has built her entire life around loyalty, love, and the idea that she knows her husband inside and out. She’s the “ride or die” wife, fully committed to her marriage and the life they’ve created together. But that illusion cracks wide open when a stranger arrives at the Vipers MC clubhouse carrying a past Vik never told her about — and proof that he has a son she never knew existed.

That single revelation doesn’t just add drama — it dismantles trust.

What hits Josie the hardest isn’t only the existence of the child, but everything wrapped around it:

* realizing she’s been living with hidden chapters of her husband’s life
* feeling completely blindsided by the man she thought she knew
* watching her marriage shift into something unfamiliar and fragile
* and grappling with the fact that Vik carried all of this pain and secrecy alone

From there, the emotional weight of the story really takes over. It becomes less about the “shock reveal” and more about what comes after it — when love is still there, but trust has been fractured.

Vik’s perspective adds another layer of heaviness. He’s not painted as careless, but as a man drowning under responsibility — club leadership, enemies closing in, and now fatherhood tied to a past he never fully escaped. His guilt is constant, especially as he tries to hold onto both his club and the wife who feels like she’s slipping away.

The real question the book keeps circling is whether the secret itself is unforgivable — or if it’s the silence that breaks everything.

The angst is strong here in the best way. You really feel both sides:
Josie trying to process betrayal while protecting her heart, and Vik desperately trying to prove that what they built is still worth fighting for.

Overall, it’s an emotional, tension-filled read with heavy relationship stakes and a marriage tested at its core. The kind of story that makes you sit in the discomfort right alongside the characters.

After really enjoying the first two books in this series, I was really excited to jump in and get Vik and Josie's story! This one is a short and quick read, and I listened to it in about 2 hours (sped up).

The audio is single narration by Wren Carver, and she did a great job bringing the story and the characters to life.

Vik is the President of the Viper's MC and him and Josie have been married for a while, have a daughter already, and he is ready to knock her up again. Unfortunately, they get a little bit of a wrench thrown into their plans.

Since this is short and quick, I don't want to give too much away but just know that poor Vik and Josie kind of go through it a bit in this one. Vik is dealing with some things going on with the club and then toss in some unexpected things with the family and we get a little bit of emotional chaos.

If you like a short, quick, motorcycle club romance with a possessive and broody MMC, morally grey characters, a strong and protective FMC, some good spice, and an unexpected child thrown in, then definitely check this one out. Make sure you read the first two in the series first!

Thank you, Cindy, for sharing the audio with me!

Cindy is an autobuy for me. Her writing scratches the part in the brain that has you wanting more.

Josie and Vik were refreshing in the sense that Vik wasn't your typical ruthless leader, and Josie wasn't a pushover who just forgave. You get to see the love and the hurt they both were feeling, and the betrayal that appeared on her front door. While the events that happened were before her, you see how it affects both of them.

I love how, even through all the hurt, Josie handles her business; she takes charge of her life and circumstances for her and her family, her whole family.

It's nice to see them go through real-life struggles that could absolutely destroy a frayed marriage, but they come up on top. It's nice to see the family they built, not only for themselves, but with everyone around them, the club, friends, everything.

Josie and Vik love each other very much. Yet, when a bomb is dropped into their lives, it will shatter and test these two to the very core of their marriage.

"I'm terrified to move and break the calm we're wading in."

Anyone who has been in a relationship...married or just dating, can relate to everything that Jose and Vik went through in this book. The emotions are very high as is the endgame. I know that I felt this book deep within my soul.

The spice is hot, but it means nothing without love. That is what makes the intimate scenes so steamy. Cindy just amazes me a little more each time with every new book that she releases. This one will bury into your heart and soul.

"She's my strength, my center, my calm in the storm."

It's time we met Josie and Vik.
I have loved this series so far.
And getting back to the Viper crew was such a ride.
These books pack a punch for being novella sized.
And let me tell you, this one unpacks a huge surprise that Josie or Viking ever expected.
While it also tests their relationship, it also brings up Josies past. Things she thought she had locked away and didn't let take over her.
But it also ends up bring them even closer in the end.
I absolutely loved their story, loved the tension, and the ending, it was absolutely the sweetest.

Can't wait for the next book in this series. I have some guesses on who the couple is, but who knows...I could be wrong. Either way I'm excited for it.

Thank you Cindy for allowing me to arc read🫶🏻

I fell in love with this series from the very beginning! Each couple in the viper crew series has such a beautiful crazy wild ride and Josie & vik did NOT disappoint! I absolutely loved Josie and vik! Their relationship is full to capacity of highs and lows but at the end of the day they are it for each other!

I loath when people give spoilers so I’ll hint around to my favorite part.. there will come a time in the book where a special someone meets their daughter Haley and ( to me ) it was the sweetest most precious thing ever. Sometimes I assume the worst about a character based off previous books or real life situations however this character really shocked and surprised me in the best way possible!

Even though this book is short it packs a hard punch! 10 out of 10 do recommend!

Cindy did it again! The third stand alone in the vipers MC series was everything I hoped for, we had spice, tension, stubborn women, and obsessed men the perfect recipe for a great book. The main characters are already married before this story starts so the tension cannot come from will they/wont they get together so it must come from other areas. I won’t spoil the events but know that they have their life thrown into a spiral rapidly and our FMC may not handle with the best emotional control. But our MC never stops fighting for his woman, he is not perfect but he has no plans of loosing the woman of his dreams now.

This book is such a fun mix of yeah it's funny and dirty and spicy but there's also a real story behind it. A story of neglect and found family, of love and healing together. The fact that they work through it together, both not giving up, in their own ways, him by stalking, ( btw so hot) is just everything!

Both characters are so great, it's very relatable how they react, how she needs space and he just needs her. I think this is what it is all about working through whatever life throws at you and still love eachother and be there for eachother.

I also really love that the other characters of the previous books are still very much involved in this world. I love this series and i can't wait to meet the next couple.

Josie and Viking have a happy marriage, a young daughter, and plans for another baby—until a 14-year-old boy shows up at the clubhouse claiming to be Viking's son.

After the boy's mother dies, Viking discovers he has a son he never knew existed. Determined to step up, he takes the teen in, but the revelation puts unexpected strain on his marriage to Josie.

I loved that the characters acted like actual adults, and Viking immediately took responsibility for his son. The sweetest part was watching the bond grow between the teen and his little sister. An emotional MC romance filled with family drama, heart, and found-family vibes.

This book quickly became my favorite standalone in the Vipers MC series. Cindy Dawson wrote an amazing story when she created Josie and Viks story.

Together they are a dream couple. Trying to handle the balance of running the club and having a family is causing stress for Vik, as the MC President he has alot to handle. When Josie gets the shock of a child from Viks past showing up, things could've caused a bigger rift in their marriage but Josie handled the situation like a true queen.

I can't wait to see whose book is next in this series.

Vik is the super hot president of the Motorcycle Club that's in trouble, when a surprise kid arrives and shakes his marriage to its core

Can he and Josie find their way back to each other? Maybe if he grovels enough 🥵 but you will need to read it to find out - enjoy this great small town MC romance

Thank you Cindy for the ARC opportunity 💕

Shattered By You is a short, fast paced novella that follows Josie and Vik in the Viper’s MC series. Their marriage is in peril when an unexpected person who’s up providing them with a shock and with the added stress of trouble with the MC, can they overcome it?

I love MC romances and this one was just so good. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and this one is no different.

I just love Josie and Vik so much. The tension between these two. The spice! I absolutely love their daughter Haley too. She’s so precious. Vik only wants to do what’s right for both his family and his club.

Thank you to the author for providing me with this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

✨ARC REVIEW✨

the mmc and fmc are hit with news big enough to shake their marriage. are they strong enough to make it out the other side?

the mmc hit with news that changes his life all while trying to save his marriage and deal with the stress of his club.

the tension is high and so are the stakes. this was a fast paced novella that hits just right.

I love this series and each of the individual stories but Josie and Viks is by far my favorite out of the 3.

The connection between Josie and Vik is so damn strong and you don't think anything can fracture their bond. But dang that gut punch from left field was not something I predicted.

Either way Vik can call me mama any day 🥵

The FMC finds out that her husband, president of the MC, had a teenager that he didn’t really know about.
I was misled by the extract. I thought it was a betrayal and grovel but it wasn’t really. More a miscommunication and daddy issues trope.
However I really enjoyed the drama and the dynamics between the main characters and within the MC.
Now I want to know what is going to happen to Charlie.

I enjoyed reading about Vik and Josephine.
Josephine carried this whole book & the relationship tbh. If it wasn't because of her, this could've been a different type of story. However, I loved her. She's a strong, badass woman that knows her values & has a heart of gold. I'm happy for Trenton 🥹

🥰 loved this

I really enjoyed this novella loved that the OW was old news. Wish we could have a little more on why the OW never came back though but that is life isn’t it. Sometimes you don’t know and it’s what comes after that matters anyway.

This was short and spicy. It is light on the depth because of the brevity. But if you are looking for a quick angsty read, it’s easy to fly though.

Third book in an interconnected series and I loved it just as much as the first two! 💕

This story follows Josie and Vik as they navigate a life-altering surprise that threatens to shake the foundation of their seemingly perfect marriage. With plans to grow their family already in motion, an unexpected arrival turns their world upside down. Suddenly, Josie is questioning everything she thought she knew, while Vik is left fighting for the woman he loves and terrified of losing his wife.

The emotional depth in this book had me completely invested. Watching Josie and Vik work through heartbreak, uncertainty, and difficult truths felt incredibly real, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way. Their love was tested in ways neither of them expected, making their journey both heartbreaking and beautiful.

If you’ve loved the first two books in this series, this one absolutely delivers. It’s packed with emotion, family drama, and a romance that reminds you that sometimes love isn’t about perfection—it’s about choosing each other through the hardest moments. ❤️✨

This was my most anticipated read of the series and it didn't let me down!!!!

Josie and Vik are just it!!! Their chemistry, their stubbornness and the heat between the two...hot hot hot!!!

They go through it in this book. A surprise comes along that is going to test their marriage, and it's going to keep you on your toes and anxious wondering what in the heck is going to happen!

Not to mention, some trouble is brewing surrounding the club, and with Vik being the prez, he needs to figure out how to fix it and fast!

You will as always fall in love with Cindys characters. There's just something with the way she writes them that makes you just fall in love with them. Very excited to see how the rest of the series plays out, and who else we will become the next it couple!!

Highly recommend!!!
