The oddity of society, particularly the book community, has flabbergasted her, making her curious about how an em-dash or ellipses can make people think that AI had any hand in aiding an author to write. She could be sharing complete truths, complete lies, or a mixture in this very bio as you continue to read this. Why are you still reading this, she asks in your ear as if she’s sitting right next to you, right now? Does anyone really care if she’s telling the truth, I mean, come on, she’s an author for God sake? Books are written to pull you from reality with fantasy, though there is much of reality in books to some extent. Where was she going with this thought? I don’t know, don’t remember, so let us continue. What were we discussing? Oh, right, Martha Sweeney’s author bio.
She would like to sum up with this single thought: believe what you want about anything, even her. Beliefs are just thoughts you keep thinking. Whether you think you’re wrong or right, you’re right either way, so why should she care what’s written in her bio? We both know you just want a story that makes you feel. That’s the purpose of books or any form of entertainment. It’s to feel something. She hopes your emotions are kicked in the ass one way or another. If you like a character, she’s content. If you hate a character, she’s content. All in all, she made you feel.

ARC Review.
Bubblegum Alibis was an absolute rollercoaster, and I was holding on for dear life!
Tara, aka Daisy, is a bubblegum-blowing tattoo artist with a penchant for sweets, chaos and tasers.
When Tara’s best friend Jordan gets jilted by her ex-boyfriend, what’s a BFF supposed to do? Kidnap him, of course! Unfortunately, with no name and only a quick glance at a photo, it was pretty much inevitable that Tara was going to kidnap the wrong man.
Enter Kennon Reid, a member of an Irish mob family. He thinks he’s about to get lucky, only to wake up hog-tied in a shed, being held captive by a feisty girl who promptly tases him.
And somehow… Kennon is instantly smitten.
Determined to find his mystery girl, Kennon goes all in when it comes to wooing Tara. Unfortunately for him, she does not make it easy. Tara is fiercely independent after aging out of the foster care system, and she lives her life as though she could pack up and disappear at any moment. Beneath her chaotic and badass exterior, you can see that she struggles with feeling worthy of love.
I really enjoyed the slow-burn romance between Tara and Kennon. It takes a while for things to really heat up, and Tara definitely makes Kennon work for it. The romance is mixed with a turf war, arranged marriages, revenge and plenty of chaos, so there was never a dull moment.
My favourite parts was the banter, quirky side characters and Tara’s completely chaotic personality. She is such a fun FMC to read, and I loved watching Kennon try to keep up with her.
I will say, the ending felt quite abrupt for me and left me wanting MORE. There are so many unanswered questions heading into book two, and I am absolutely intrigued.
Will Tara finally realise that she deserves to be loved? How is she such a badass? And, most importantly, what is her backstory?! I need answers!
If you love slow burn, mistaken identity, revenge plots, Irish mafia, emotional damage, arranged marriages and a bubblegum-blowing, tattooed FMC who carries a taser, then you definitely need to add Bubblegum Alibis to your TBR!

Kennon Reid is part of a very important Irish family and, as it turns out, is the brother of the idiot who broke Jordan's heart. This mistake is about to open up a whole new world that Tara has never seen before.
Kennon is immediately smitten with Tara, but Tara is like a wounded animal who has never really felt love. Could he show her what he feels for her, and could Tara learn to reciprocate those feelings?
This was a dark romantic comedy with a mafia MMC and a quirky, feisty FMC. The story is told in dual POV and is mostly entertaining, with a bit of suspense mixed in. There is quite a lot of profanity and a few sentimental moments that add some emotion to the story.
The characters are amazing and so different from each other. Kennon is a man who goes after what he wants in true mafia style, but he also has a romantic side. Tara is a woman who would fight for the people she loves, but she is also easily scared and tends to run away.
I loved how everyone seemed to like Tara immediately and genuinely cared about her. My favorite part was when she fought the bad guys. It showed another side of her and was one of the most entertaining moments for me.
If you like entertaining dark romantic comedies with mafia characters, quirky personalities, suspense, and romance, this one is for you.

Tara is a protective FMC who takes no bullsh!t from anybody. Think the most B@DAS$ type of character, and there she is.
The MMC Kennon is funny, bold & part of a VERY powerful family, and he too does not take sh!t from anyone.
Put the two main characters together, with all the side characters & you're guaranteed to laugh out loud while reading this book. 🤣
This book has all the dark humour & the sexual tension we all want in a dark romantic mafia book. But it also has emotional aspects that moved me way more than I was expecting.🤌🏼 Martha Sweeney, I have to give you your flowers. 💐👏🏼 I don't think anybody could predict that ending!👌🏼 Bring on book 2.

I went into Bubblegum Alibis not really knowing what to expect, and I ended up having such a fun time with it. I was hooked from the first chapter and stayed invested all the way through. Daisy/Tara is an absolute riot, the Night Hawk crew is fantastic, and the Reids are such an intriguing family. Even the side characters shine..they add so much charm and energy to the story.
The pacing is great and kept me turning pages, and once I settled into the writing style (coming off a high fantasy read), I found myself fully immersed. The ending is a bit abrupt, but it still left me wanting more, and I definitely want to continue the series.
A solid 4‑star read with great characters and a fun plot

Daisy was hilarious !! Kennon needs to grow a pair and Liam and Jordan just might be a lost cause ! I detest cliffhangers! So if you expect a nice tidy wrap up, we don’t get one, so I guess we are waiting for book 2, to see what happens to “Bubbles” after Kennon grabs her. This book was snarky and filled with multiple taser attacks, so beware ! But so worth reading, I can’t wait for the next book ! 5✨’s !

Loved the book, i loved the banter which had me laughing a lot. I liked the main characters too although Tara gave me whiplash as her personality seemed to shift from one extreme to another. The book sucked me in immediately and kept me engrossed in the story right till the end. I would have liked more spice but im still really looking forward to the next book.

Can I give more than 5 stars? Seriously. I need more. I need more of every character. I hope this turns into a bigger series. I was hooked from the intro. Literally did not put this down from the second I picked it up. Not a single dull moment or point where I lost interest. I was a little disappointed in the end as I said I want more! lol.

This was fun and wild ride but could also be very cringe. I love unhinged but sometimes it felt a bit forced and a little OTT. beyond that loved the plot itself the mmc sure met his match with Tara. If you love goofy fmcs with a kinda cringe yet strong personality you’d love this story truly.
