A prince at the door. A secret in his throat. A woman he loves and has never deserved.

When the Crown Prince arrives at Rookvane Manor, Sebastian must host a man who outranks him in every measure that matters—including, perhaps, in Kathryn's regard. The Prince is charming. Attentive. Curious about her in ways Sebastian cannot afford to misread. And he has the power to change Volmasque Kingdom in ways Sebastian can only dream of.

But the Prince is not the worst threat under Sebastian's roof. That honour belongs to the secret Sebastian has carried for five years—the one Kathryn does not remember. His deepest, darkest secret. The one that could cost him everything.

This New Year's Eve is the seventh day of Christmas.
They are halfway through the bargain.
And Sebastian Vale is running out of nights to keep lying.

Confessions, Conspiracies, and a Royal Visit

His Royal Threat by Darcy Fayton picks up exactly where His Dark Jealousy leaves off, without wasting a single page. The arrival of Crown Prince Zackary at Rookvane Manor immediately raises the tension, as neither Kathryn nor Sebastian knows where the Prince’s true loyalties lie. Is he an ally? An enemy? Or simply a man with an agenda of his own? That uncertainty gives the novella an entertaining layer of suspense right from the beginning.

His Royal Threat ♦ Darcy Fayton–A Review

Opinion
The emotional centerpiece of this installment is undoubtedly Sebastian finally revealing the secret he has been carrying for the past five years. Before he can get there, however, he needs a little push out of his own head, courtesy of Mr. Kenneth, who orchestrates a rather memorable sparring session between Sebastian and Ramsey. It is a surprisingly effective scene, breaking through Sebastian‘s emotional walls in a way that felt both natural and satisfying.

And the secret itself?
It is every bit as dark and haunting as the previous installments promised. Yet what struck me most is that Sebastian is not truly to blame for what happened. The weight he has carried belongs far more to the sins of his father than to his own actions, making his confession feel tragic rather than condemnable.

Speaking of fathers, Tiberion continues to be one of the series’ greatest mysteries. I find myself increasingly fascinated by his true motives. Why was he so cruel to Kathryn and her mother, abandoning them beneath overwhelming debts and mortgages? What was he truly trying to accomplish? Equally intriguing is the lingering mystery surrounding Rookvane Manor itself. Kathryn inherited the estate, yet her family name has seemingly never appeared anywhere throughout the manor’s documented history. Every answer uncovers two new questions, and I’m thoroughly invested in discovering how these threads will eventually come together.

I also appreciated Kathryn‘s reaction once Sebastian finally confessed. She recognized that the burden he carried was never truly of his own making, and her response felt compassionate and believable. That said, despite the emotional importance of the scene, I never quite felt the emotional impact I had hoped for. The moment was significant, but the sparks simply didn’t hit me as deeply as I expected.

The novella ends on another clever note as Kathryn, Sebastian, and Crown Prince Zackary begin setting a trap to lure Sebastian’s father, Tiberion, into the open. It’s a satisfying development that promises plenty of intrigue for what’s to come.

One small disappointment, unrelated to the story itself, is the mid-series redesign of the covers. Personally, I’m not a fan of changing a series’ visual identity halfway through, especially when the new covers appear to have been AI-generated. I much preferred the original artwork, and as someone who appreciates consistent cover design across a series, the change was a bit of a letdown.

Conclusion
Overall, His Royal Threat continues to deepen the mysteries surrounding Rookvane Manor while finally delivering one of the revelations the series has been building toward. Although the emotional payoff didn’t fully land for me, the expanding political intrigue, the unanswered questions surrounding Tiberion, and the growing alliance between Kathryn, Sebastian, and the Crown Prince have left me eager to dive straight into the eighth installment.

I was so excited to finally dive back into Kathryn and Sebastian's story, and after the way the previous book ended, my expectations were incredibly high. Thankfully, this book exceeded every one of them. From the very first chapter, I was completely pulled back into their world, and I honestly didn't want to put it down. The stakes are higher than ever, the emotions run even deeper, and every revelation pushes the story closer to what feels like an explosive endgame.
One of my absolute favourite things about this installment is seeing just how much Kathryn and Sebastian have grown, both individually and as a couple. For the first time in what feels like forever, they're no longer fighting against each other or letting misunderstandings drive them apart. Instead, they're finally becoming the team they were always meant to be. They have each other's backs, trust is slowly being rebuilt, and they're learning to rely on one another instead of carrying every burden alone. Watching them become true partners after everything they've endured was incredibly satisfying, and it made every emotional moment between them hit that much harder.
It also feels like the story is steadily building towards the inevitable downfall of the Conclave. Every piece of the puzzle that falls into place makes it seem like we're inching closer to watching this toxic, manipulative organisation finally crumble. After everything they've put Kathryn, Sebastian, and so many others through, I am beyond ready to see them get exactly what they deserve. The anticipation is almost unbearable, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
One of the biggest additions to this book is Kathryn's newest patron, the Prince, and wow... I genuinely had no idea what to think about him. Every interaction had me constantly questioning his motives. Was he genuinely trying to help? Was there some hidden agenda? Could he actually be trusted, or was he simply another master manipulator? I changed my mind about him so many times while reading that I honestly started questioning my own instincts. I loved how the author kept me second-guessing everything because it added another layer of suspense to an already gripping story.
Without question, one of the most emotional aspects of this book was Kathryn finally beginning to recover pieces of the memories she lost about her relationship with Sebastian. Those flashbacks were absolutely beautiful and completely heartbreaking at the same time. They offered such a tender glimpse into the love they once shared before everything was torn apart, and every recovered memory only made me fall even harder for them as a couple. Seeing what they had lost made their determination to find their way back to each other even more meaningful. Their love has always been at the heart of this series, and these moments reminded me exactly why I'm so invested in them.
Then came the revelations surrounding Sebastian's past... and I honestly didn't think it was possible to hate his father any more than I already did. Somehow, this book managed to prove me wrong. Every new truth that came to light only highlighted just how cruel, selfish, and unforgivable he truly is. My heart absolutely broke for Sebastian as more pieces of his past were uncovered, and all I could think was that this man deserves every ounce of karma heading his way. I am counting down the days until he finally faces the consequences of everything he's done because his downfall cannot come soon enough.
Despite all the danger, heartbreak, and high-stakes drama, there were also so many genuinely beautiful moments shared between Kathryn and Sebastian. These quieter scenes gave their relationship the room it needed to grow naturally, allowing them to acknowledge the mistakes they've both made, communicate honestly, and slowly begin healing together. Their relationship feels stronger than ever because it isn't built on perfection—it's built on forgiveness, growth, resilience, and choosing each other over and over again. After everything they've survived, it's impossible not to root for them. Every chapter feels like another step closer to the happily-ever-after they've sacrificed so much to earn, and I desperately need to see them finally get the peace they deserve.
One of the biggest surprises in this book was just how much I loved Sebastian and Ramsey's sparring match. It was easily one of the funniest scenes in the entire series. Their banter was absolutely priceless, and it was such a welcome break from all the tension. More than that, it was refreshing to see Sebastian genuinely relax, joke around, and simply enjoy himself for a little while. Those lighter moments made the emotional scenes even more impactful because they reminded us of the man hidden beneath all the trauma and responsibility.
Another thing worth mentioning is the size of this installment. This is officially the longest book in the series so far, making the jump from novella to a full-length novel, and honestly, I loved every single page of it. Not once did it feel dragged out or unnecessarily long. Instead, the extra length allowed for richer character development, deeper emotional moments, more intricate world-building, and plenty of twists that kept me completely invested from beginning to end.
Overall, this is easily one of my favourite books in the series so far. It perfectly balances emotional healing, character growth, romance, mystery, action, and shocking revelations while continuing to build towards what promises to be an unforgettable conclusion. Kathryn and Sebastian continue to prove why they're one of my favourite fictional couples, and every new chapter makes me even more invested in their journey. If the next book delivers on everything this one is setting up, I have a feeling the finale is going to be absolutely phenomenal. I genuinely cannot wait to see the Conclave fall, Sebastian's father finally get what he deserves, and, most importantly, Kathryn and Sebastian finally find the happily-ever-after they've fought so hard to reclaim.

With every new instalment in this series, my feelings about Sebastian seem to swing wildly from one extreme to the other. Time and again, I've found myself making excuses for his behavior, overlooking his more entitled vampiric tendencies, but after the last book, I honestly thought he'd crossed a line I couldn't forgive. And yet... here we are again, right back where we started. That said, I have to admit that Kathryn's unwavering faith in him plays a huge role in shaping my own feelings. Is what she feels forgiveness, or is it dependency? With every episode, that distinction becomes increasingly blurred. Perhaps Sebastian's long-awaited secret would finally provide some clarity, especially since this is the instalment where it's finally revealed. To be honest, though, considering everything Kathryn has endured up to this point, I couldn't help feeling a little underwhelmed by the revelation. Add to that the fact that so much of it was orchestrated by someone else, and I found myself thinking it wasn’t even truly Sebastian's fault. Kathryn's reaction also felt surprisingly muted. It wasn't the emotional gut punch or cathartic payoff I'd been expecting after so much build-up. Of course, no sooner is one mystery solved than a dozen more take its place. Chief among them is Kathryn's enigmatic new patron, Crown Prince Zackary. As she and Sebastian seek powerful allies against Sebastian’s father, Tiberion and the Conclave, the obvious question is whether the prince is friend or foe. I found him particularly fascinating because of his mixed heritage—part vampire, part wolf—which immediately raises questions about where his loyalties truly lie. Then there's the ever-more mysterious Mr. Kenneth and his connection to the entire Rookvane Manor mess. And why is Kathryn's family name conspicuously absent from the Manor's records? The game is definitely afoot, Watson. Every answer seems to uncover three more questions, and I'm thoroughly invested in seeing how all these threads eventually come together. What I loved most about this instalment, however, was the feeling that Kathryn and Sebastian were finally fighting on the same side. Kathryn may not have fully forgiven him, but there's a growing sense of trust and mutual understanding between them. Much of that comes from having her memories restored. Remembering both the beautiful moments they shared and the painful ones they've lost makes their current relationship all the more poignant. This entry also felt noticeably more character-driven than previous instalments. Though even with its longer page count, there was still plenty of room for Kathryn's nightly ordeal, but this time there was an interesting twist: it was her own choice. Not the act itself, obviously, but the strategy behind it. Choosing to help the prince infiltrate the Conclave to destroy it from within gave her much more agency, and if Sebastian's father is anything to go by, I'll be first in line cheering when that entire organization finally gets what it deserves. Now that I have a much clearer understanding of Kathryn and Sebastian's history, thanks to the flashbacks woven throughout this story, I'm even more invested in where their journey goes next. Their relationship feels richer, more complicated, and ultimately more tragic—and that's exactly what has me eager for the next chapter of this dark, dark tale.

Finally, the moment fans of the series have been waiting for: Sebastian reveals the dark secret he’s kept hidden from Kathryn for so long, and we learn about their shared past. But this book also focuses on an unexpected new alliance against common enemies, as well as new, long-lost information about the manor’s history that slowly comes to light. Trust and loyalty are put to the test, and Sebastian and Kathryn gain more clarity about their feelings for each other. This new installment is the first full-length novel in the series, and it kept me hooked from the start. I’ve loved Sebastian and Kathryn’s story since the first book, and it’s wonderful to watch how they continue to grow closer despite all the secrets, hurts, fears, betrayals, and disasters.
Once again, the plot of the new installment of dark paranormal romance series is well-written, fast-paced, emotionally charged and full of intrigue, heartfelt moments, and spice containing dubcon and consensual intimacy, forced exhibitionism, voyeurism, anal and bondage.
As the plot picks up right where the previous book left off, I recommend reading the series in order.

Sebastian and Kathryn receive an unexpected visit from Sebastian’s old friend, Crown Prince Zackary, whose loyalty is currently in question and who could have Sebastian executed for high treason and murder. But it seems that Zackary, too, is after Tiberion and the secret Conclave, who want to overthrow the queen and once again keep humans as pets. To give Zackary the chance to infiltrate the secret organization, the three must work together. The crown prince becomes the new patron and must rape Kathryn in front of Tiberion to appear credible, and Kathryn agrees.
Sebastian is slowly realizing that he’s been going about the last few nights the wrong way. Kathryn doesn’t need a knight in shining armor; she needs a partner who will face the darkness with her. So he reveals his darkest secret to Kathryn, even at the risk of losing her forever. Together, they embark on a journey into the past to recover Kathryn’s lost memories and give her insight into his emotional life…

All in all, it’s a dark and gripping romance novel with endearing protagonists, deeply felt emotions, action, intrigue, and explicit sexual content (see trigger warnings), which I’m happy to recommend. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

Book 7 and this series just keeps getting better! 🖤

I was so excited to finally dive back into Kathryn and Sebastian’s story and this book did not disappoint. These two are finally starting to work as a team, having each other’s backs and slowly becoming the partners they’ve always needed. It really feels like we’re getting closer to seeing the downfall of the toxic Conclave, and I am so ready for it.

This book also introduces Kathryn’s newest patron, the Prince, and let me tell you… trying to decide whether he could actually be trusted had me questioning everything 😂

One of my favourite parts of this book was Kathryn finally beginning to recover the memories of her relationship with Sebastian. Those glimpses into their past were heartbreakingly beautiful and made me fall even more in love with them as a couple.

Then there’s the huge revelation about Sebastian’s past and I honestly didn’t think I could hate his father any more than I already did, but somehow this book managed to make me despise him even more. I cannot wait for the day he finally gets what’s coming to him.

There were so many beautiful moments between Kathryn and Sebastian throughout this story that really strengthened their relationship. Despite everything they’ve been through, it’s obvious how deeply they love each other. They’ve both made mistakes, but now they’re acknowledging them, growing together and slowly finding their way back to each other. Every step feels like they’re moving closer to the HEA they’ve fought so hard for.

One unexpected highlight was Sebastian and Ramsey’s sparring match. It was hilarious, full of great banter and such a refreshing moment to see Sebastian relax for a change.

This is also the longest book in the series so far, officially making the jump from novella to full-length novel and I loved every single page.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for book eight! 🥹

Arc Review

Every time I pick up another book in this series, I find myself becoming even more invested in Kathryn and Sebastian’s journey, and His Royal Threat was no exception.

What I loved most about this instalment was that it took a different approach. Instead of focusing solely on moving the story forward, it spent time exploring the past, allowing us to better understand the characters and the events that have shaped them. I really enjoyed this change of pace, as it added so much more depth and emotion to the story without ever feeling slow.

Kathryn continues to be one of the strongest heroines I’ve read. My heart genuinely broke for her throughout this book. After everything she’s already endured, seeing her struggle with knowing who she can truly trust made me feel for her even more. Despite everything thrown her way, she keeps pushing forward, and I couldn’t help but admire her resilience.

I also found myself feeling much more connected to Sebastian. The deeper insight into his character helped me understand him on a completely different level, and I came away appreciating him far more than I already did. Watching these two characters continue to grow, both individually and together, has been one of my favourite parts of the series.

Overall, His Royal Threat is another fantastic addition to The Twelve Nights of Christmas series. With its rich character development, intriguing mysteries, and beautifully woven backstory, it left me even more excited to see where Kathryn and Sebastian’s journey goes next.

If you love a dark vampire fantasy romance filled with mystery, emotional character growth, slow burn tension, and characters you’ll become deeply invested in, this series is absolutely worth picking up.

His Royal Threat, book seven in the Twelve Nights of Christmas series continues with yet another patron, this time in the form of the beloved Prince Zackary. When the prince finds out about what Sebastian and Kathryn are up to, he makes a deal with Sebastian to be the next patron, in return for a favor.. help Zackary find a way into the secretive group led by Sebastian's father, Tiberion, which also means that they need to invite Tiberion back into Kathryn's home to witness yet another act of her humilation. Of course, because I’m starting to think that in this world, no one does anything out of kindness, but rather for what they can get in return. Kathryn and Sebastian also dig deeper into her lost memories in this book, and while Sebastian’s “secret” is a little upsetting, I’m starting to think that Kathryn would forgive him for practically anything at this point.

Honestly, I’m not sure how any of these books can be considered romance. Sebastian, in my opinion, has no redeeming qualities and uses his connection to Kathryn to help soothe her every time he does something vile or disgusting.. which, lets admit, is almost a daily occurrence in this series. And Kathryn.. I just don’t understand how she can be so.. naive, dumb, or just plain desperate for Sebastian to love her that she makes the most absurd decisions. Even when given a choice, she somehow chooses wrong, or the one thing that will have Sebastian at her side. If I wasn’t invested in the story, and waiting to see how this is supposed to end in a happily ever after, I think I would have given up reading this series with the last book, when Sebastian showed just how cruel he could really be.

I seriously can't get enough of these books.

This book invites the Crown Prince as Kathryn's next one. He agrees to help them in return for a favour, and Kathryn comes up with a plan that will work for everyone. I still feel horrible and very sad for what she must go through, even though she's over halfway now. I wish there were a way around it.

I loved that we learned some of the secrets that Seb has been hiding for so long, and it's easy to understand why he didn't want to tell her. He feels horrible about what he did and will feel guilty about it for the rest of his time. It goes to show that his father is even worse than I thought before, although I can't say I'm surprised by what he did.

Kathryn and Seb's relationship is growing even stronger, and they have a bond that will never leave. He can forever feel her emotions, and they can move in each other's memories, which is how she learned of the events Seb was keeping from her. Even though they are together, I still felt some Romeo and Juliet-type vibes, and it still breaks my heart - I wish they could somehow get out of the agreement. I have a feeling even when it's said and done, there's a chance they won't be free.

I am excited to hear more about the story, and about a type of war that seems to be brewing. Can not wait for the other books!!!

It’s the seventh one already and I still cannot get enough of these books. They are just too delicious. This was indeed the longest in the series and with that came a strange consequence of elongating the tale of a single night: it felt both a bit too long and a bit too full—I’d say no pun intended, but fully intended. Something about it seemed to drag a little. Perhaps I’ve gotten so used to these novellas being very fast paced that it caught me off guard.

This did not impact the beauty and wonder of this tragic tale at all. It must however be said that after seven instalments this book was very much the second book in the trilogy coded. It is clear that from here on out a second journey is about to commence and I cannot wait for it to begin.

The slate is cleared, cleaned and ready for the next few nights. So be prepared to be broken and build up again. The secret is out and for all his flaws our dear Sebastian is still one of my favourite broken and flawed hero and villain.

And goodness gracious what is Tiberion a vile creature. I can’t wait until the reckoning reaches him.

I swear this series gets more addictive with every book.
I absolutely devoured Night 7, but honestly, that’s been true of every installment so far. Darcy has created a world that completely pulls you in, and every time I finish one book, I’m immediately desperate for the next.
The reveal of the Prince as the seventh patron definitely delivered, but the real highlight for me was finally getting Katherine and Sebastian’s story. Seeing how their bond was forged and experiencing their shared memories was beautifully done. Then getting to step into Sebastian’s memories before seeing everything through Katherine’s perspective added so much depth to both characters. It was emotional, fascinating, and easily my favorite part of the book.
The ending has me counting down to Night 8. With the Conclave coming to the manor, it feels like everything has been building toward something huge, and I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds.
Darcy has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This series has completely consumed me, and I already know I’ll be devouring the next book the moment it’s in my hands.

I almost wish this one didn't end - so many answers to questions asked earlier, but SO MANY MORE QUESTIONS came up! What kind of secrets does Rookvane hold? How is Kathryn involved with its lineage? Why is Mr. Kenneth always present in the most pivotal of moments - he seems to be timeless and endless - just like the secrets of the manor - what is the Prince's angle? What is his motivation for taking part in the bargain? Can Sebastian and Kathryn really move forward? It seems like every time something good happens to them, more secrets come to light that have the potential to devastate their relationship - it feels like a massive shoe is about to drop - something that is either going to make or break Kathryn - I admire her resilience and her commitment to protect her family home, at the same time, Tiberion needs to burn - he is the perfect slimy bastard/villain - the one where you don't quite know his true intentions and you don't exactly know where his loiyalties lie - so well written. I NEED THE NEXT ONE!!!

Book 7 in the Twelve nights of Christmas series.

This is a longer story with longer chapters, which I was really excited about.

We delve deeper into Sebastian’s and Kathryn’s history with each other and that of Rookvane Manor and its previous owners, the Conclave, and Mr Kenneth’s role at the Manor.

Sebastian is standing up for Mr Kenneth… what’s going on here..?

As my love for the main two characters grows, and their love for each other, so does my hate for Tiberion.

We meet the new Patron Prince Zackary, is he just another pompous ass, or a man with integrity? I find him confusing. What are his motives/ intentions? Which side is he on? I guess we will find out. Eagerly awaiting book 8 “His Serpents’ nest.

His Royal Threat by Darcy Fayton - we are on day 7.

Ramsey stuck around and is helping with security at Rookvane. A chess match occurs…

Sebastian and Kathryn start off with meeting the Crown Prince, he will be the patron for night 7. They devise a plan…Kathryn once again shows has strong she really is. Mr Kenneth knows more than he lets on, the house has some details that are mix between races. It seems secrets are always around the corner and Katherine must answer, if she was in trouble who would she call for?

I really enjoy how the author lets these secrets out at the most opportune times. It really drags you more into the story and once again you can truly understand how Kathryn feels at each turn of events. This book brings a lot of the past up and you learn what really happened between Kathryn and Sebastian. I can’t wait for the next book.

His Royal Threat is, without a doubt, my favorite book in the series so far. Darcy Fayton finally starts answering some of the biggest questions surrounding Sebastian and Kathryn’s past, especially what happened to Kathryn’s memories. I loved seeing those pieces of the puzzle come together.

Of course, every answer seemed to lead to even more questions, which has me even more invested in where this story is going. I also loved seeing what appears to be a new ally in the Prince and can’t wait to find out what role he’ll ultimately play. Now I’m left wondering if Sebastian and Kathryn will ever truly escape the grip of Sebastian’s father.

This series just keeps getting better, and I’m already looking forward to the next installment.

Memories & Royalty….

Book 7 in The Twelve Nights Of Christmas series.

Kathryn has finally got her memories back 🤗.

This book was a really good read and i loved tge fact that even though the main plot was her 7th patron (being the prince of the country) in the series but they got to delve into the past and finally make sense of things long forgotten (hidden away)

The bond between Kathryn and Sebastian getting stronger even though she hasn't forgiven him.

This book is filled with secrets, lies and plots to over throw evil plans. As well as discovering a long lost yearning for on another.

A fast paced supernatural story.

"I had not expected to arrive at a forgotten royal manor only to discover what appears to be an organised prostitution enterprise operating inside it "

What a book (again)!!

Loved that this was a bit longer than previous ones.

The memories from the past were super fun and intriguing! Loved the commentary and banter of the present Kathryn and Sebastian while they were watching those 😆

We definitely got some answers but now I have even more questions.. And who will be the next patron?? 🫣 Aaghh I can't wait to know!!

This series just keeps getting better and better and LOOK AT THOSE NEW COVERS 🥵🥵 Oh Seb you're even more handsome than I imagined..

Arc Review

This 7 book of the series is the best so far, for me! I read Kathryn and Sebastian 's story for the 7'th night of the bargain and they seem to be more real and more as a team than ever!
This night is for the Prince. He is in essence one of "the good guys" , willing to become the pateon for the night in order to approach the Conclave. All in all, is a change of pace, and now I am hardly waiting for the next book!
In this novel, Kathryn witnesses Sebastian's most hidden secret, and she openes her mind to her hidden memories, so everything comes back to her, and many memories are of the good kind.
So, 5 more nights to go!
Thank you, Darcy Fayton for the book! I have received this book as ARC from Booksirens and I am leaving this review voluntarily!

This series is the one I always look forward to when the next book is announced!
Same protagonists but each book has your emotions run wild. Who is truly evil, who had reasons for their actions, what secrets are yet to be discovered?
Kathryn and Sebastian are becoming a couple I want to see together but there is always something that makes me rethink if they truly should. There has been so much heartbreak, broken trust and yet he does look out for her in important moments. They have this tragic couple energy.
The introduction of new characters and an expanded plot make it such a rich universe to dive into.
I already can’t wait for the next books and will once again end up questioning everyone until we get that final book! 🤭

Thank you Darcy Fayton and BookSirens for the ARC.

As the 7th title in this incredible series to date it just keeps getting better with each addition. But finally we are getting more about Kathryn and Sebastian's relationship with one another and seeing how events shaped their lives. This story heats up with a new patron which also starts to delve into a bit more mystery and certainly more heat with the contract to pay off the debt. Love this couple and so excited to see how things are going to unravel for them to find some peace but with still a number of books to go I'm simply hanging out to see each other night Kathryn is committed to pay off her debt.

ARC with a view, while I am on hols

This is book 7 with new covers for all previous books too

In this instalment Kathryn and Sebastian's bond grows and they share previous memories together that help cement their relationship

This next patron in the deal is a hopeful an ally and helps provide some very steamy spicy scenes 🔥

So much more is to come with Tiberion, Sebastian's father and his evil ways, I cannot wait to find out where this story takes us

7 books deep most are novellas, this being a bit longer than the others and I'm still here for it!

When it Shatters
I believe that you can be invested and annoyed at the same time. This series has been a roller coaster. This book just adds to the chaos.
The rating... only cuz for me it dragged a little a lot of bogged down drama.
Bastian ugh I wanted to pet and slap him all at the same time. This story is is big and set up questions that may be answered here. Has it settled? Pfftt. Incoming high royal. Daddy dearest. Not to mention they fight themselves. Definitely will be a re-read type of series.

This one is by far my favourite of the series so far. I love the introduction of the Prince. He easily earned points. He has an agenda, and is willing to do what he needs to in order to gain things. This includes using/ making a deal with Sebastian and Kathryn. I can't wait for the next one, it is going to end up getting even better.
The only thing I wasn't a fan of was how the flashbacks of the past memories were arranged. I spent some of these chapters a little confused, especially the first time it happened. Though aside from this, the book was amazing.

I wasn't sure where things would go after that last book. But this book has made it into one of my top ones of the series! I like seeing a deeper side to Sebastian. I like how strong Kathryn remains. And I like the entrance of Prince in their lives. He is completely entrancing with a hint of thrilling danger. It gives the story an extra element of suspense that makes it all the better. I like that this opened up some of Kathryn's memories and it made me root for them more. I can't wait for all the obstacles to clear so they can be with each other for good!

Yes!!!! Finally!!! Finally we get to understand what secrets have been held back and man will you understand why. Sebastian seriously, this is an MMC I hate and also desperately want redemption for. It's such a weird balance to hold. There's all this beauty beneath the darkness that you're left not knowing how to feel when it's over but your desperate to find out what happens next. I can't wait for book 8.

Wasn’t as quick of a read as the rest of the series so far but I really enjoyed the more fleshed out style. It really feels like being a part of their world. I’m very interested in discovering more of Mr Kenneth’s secrets because we know he holds many. I will be looking forward to the next installment

This was my favorite book so far. I love that each book delves deeper into Katherine and Sebastian’s pasts and the secrets they both hold. We get a lot more of their pasts and some of the secrets Sebastian is holding onto this book.
The bond between them continues to grow and they start to trust each other more.
I loved seeing the prince and really hope he’s who he says he is

Great continuation of the series…the prince finally gets involved, hiding behind being a patron so that he can get involved with the evil serpentine conclave. Kathryn works to get all her memories back, both good and bad, involving her past relationship with Sebastian. Still a good amount of spice, and a growth in the relationship between the two.

New Year's Eve brings a Royal visitor, fireworks and long buried memories, some are beautiful but many are dark and disturbing

This book was the longest of all the Novella's and I gobbled it up, we also get a few more mysteries to solve and Daddy dearest Tiberion returns and leaves me with more questions... I'm curious as to why he hates Kathryn so much and why he married her mother

Plans have been set in motion for an interesting next book and I cant wait

Thank you Darcy and the Book Sirens for the fantastic ARC opportunity 💕

The secret that Sebastian has been holding, my goodness…. Words cannot describe the fall out once it drops in the storyline. Mouth dropped open and frozen in place once it came to light. It’s been a while since I’ve had the kind of reaction to a reveal, and honestly… I LOVED IT!! Could not recommend this series more highly!

I loved this book, but of course I have loved all of the books in this series. Both Sebastian and Kathryn have been put through alot..Kathryn more so..and she still hasn't given up..she still remains strong most of the time. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I recieved an advance reader copy of this book for an honest voluntary review.
