FR is an auto read for me now! I could not put this down. It was among and holy heat!

Mia is a spitfire and she gives as good as she gets but Hudson brings out her brat and she cannot stop sass-ing him! And boy does he love it!

Hudson knows she is off limits but why does he also know she is his.?

This amazing friend group has managed to find a trio of obsessed off limits men that fall fast and hard for them. We have 1 left and I cannot wait to get it!!

💜 The Forbidden Series continues to be one of those series that keeps pulling me back in, and this third installment was easily one of my favorites so far. From the very first chapter, I was completely invested in Mia and Hudson's story. Their chemistry is undeniable, their banter is addictive, and the forbidden nature of their relationship keeps the tension high from beginning to end.

🎓 Mia is such a standout FMC. She's bold, outspoken, and never filters what she's thinks, which makes her impossible not to love. Her confidence, quick wit, and slightly bratty streak create so many entertaining moments, especially when she decides to push Hudson's patience just to see how far she can take things. She's fearless, funny, and refuses to let anyone, including Hudson, intimidate her.

🖤 Hudson Davenport... or as I'll happily call him, Daddy Hudson... completely lived up to the hype. As the dean of Mia's university and later her professor, he knows exactly how dangerous their attraction is, yet resisting her quickly becomes impossible. Despite the twenty-four-year age gap between them, their connection never felt unbalanced to me. Instead, they challenged each other, matched each other's energy, and created a relationship that felt surprisingly equal despite the circumstances.

🔥 The professor/student dynamic delivers exactly the kind of forbidden tension you'd expect. Every secret meeting, lingering glance, and stolen moment had me completely hooked. Their chemistry practically jumps off the page, and once the romance fully takes off... let's just say this book is definitely not lacking in spice. If you're a fan of daddy kink, brat taming, breeding kink, and an alpha hero who loves being in control while still respecting his partner, you'll probably have an amazing time with this one.

🏍️ As if Hudson wasn't already enough, making him a billionaire biker somehow made him even more irresistible. F.R. Burns clearly knew exactly how to build a memorable book boyfriend because Hudson checked an embarrassing number of boxes for me.

💕 Beyond the romance, one of my favorite things about this series continues to be the friendships. The bond between the four women feels genuine, supportive, and refreshing. They celebrate each other's victories, stand together through every challenge, and bring so much heart to the story. I also loved seeing the friendships growing among the men, especially with Reed, and I can't wait to see those relationships develop even further in future books.

✨ It was also such a fun surprise spotting familiar faces from earlier books, including the crossover with Since I First Laid Eyes On You. Those little connections made the series feel even more interconnected, and finally getting answers to questions that had been lingering since My Temptation was incredibly satisfying.

📖 This was such an easy book to binge. The pacing kept me turning pages long into the night, and before I realized it, I'd finished the entire thing in a single sitting. Mia and Hudson completely stole my attention, and I honestly wasn't ready for their story to end.

💜 Overall, this was another fantastic addition to The Forbidden Series. It delivers plenty of forbidden romance, emotional moments, laugh-out-loud banter, unforgettable chemistry, and characters that are impossible not to root for. Now I'm counting down the days until the final book because I'm definitely not ready to say goodbye to this world.

This is the 3rd book in a ‘standalone capable’ series - so I will be what I assume is the minority and read this as the first - my introduction to this world and series. I see ‘breeding daddy’ trope and I am intrigued!

💕What I Loved:
Hudson… what I loved; Hudson. His dirty talk, his falling in love with Mia. His protectiveness, his daddy-ness. Mwah, *chef’s kiss* I thoroughly enjoyed their spicy time, and their back and forth and flirting and ‘hidden relationship’.

The spicy scenes were top notch!

I also liked how this was a story, you know what I mean? 😂 Like I read to escape reality and I liked how the group of friends were so similar to one another and had the same interests and kinks and were supportive of one another. Very cute.

🤔What Didn’t Work:
There were some parts I just didn’t like… I started to get aggravated with the little one-liner quips at the end of the chapters. Such as: “[MMC says something to FMC]” *FMC thinks to herself: ‘holy fucking shitballs.’ ~chapter ends~*

I had a hard time getting interested at the beginning but about 20% in (it’s a novella so wasn’t too far in) I got into the groove of it.

I found the characters a little flat, though that may have been because I started with the novella and didn't have the benefit of the earlier books to establish their personalities and backstories. But there was definitely history between FMC and a side character (that had been a main MMC in previous book)

I march straight up to her, slamming the door shut and caging her in. My arms bracket either side of her head. “Tell me you don’t think about it. Tell me you don’t think about that kiss. Tell me, so I can move on.” If her avoidance is real, if she doesn’t feel anything then I need to know.

He gestures down to his jeans. “Be a good girl and take me out.”

📝Final Word:
Do not let the things that hinder me dissuade you from this series. I may be in the minority because I see a lot of 4+ star ratings and lots of raving about this book. To me, this wasn't a solid standalone… This may work better for readers already familiar with the series, whereas I came in completely new. From what I gathered, the series seems to share similar relationship dynamics and kinks, which was actually what drew me to this installment in the first place - I saw Daddy, professor x student, breeding and wanted it all!

HAWT DAMN!!! I love this series
This is the third book in the Forbidden series, and it follows Mia, a sassy, fierce FMC with absolutely no filter whatsoever. I adored her from the very beginning, but she finally meets her match in none other than Professor Hudson Davenport... or Daddy Hudson, as I will forever refer to him. Hudson is the dean of her university and her new professor, and their connection is instant. I mean, this man is completely gone for her, and you can literally feel their chemistry radiating off the pages. I devoured every single morsel of it!!
The forbidden professor/student dynamic delivers all the delicious tension you could want, from their secret glances, stolen touches, to some seriously unforgettable spicy moments. They will be living rent-free in my head for a long time. As if that wasn't enough, Daddy Hudson is also a billionaire biker... yep, F.R. Burns was just ticking off every item on my dream MMC wishlist. It's honestly like Faye climbed inside my brain and created the perfect book boyfriend. And don't even get me started on the kinks, Daddy kink, brat taming, and my personal favourite: the breeding kink. If that's your thing, you're in for a treat.
One of my favourite parts of this series, though, is the friendships. The bond between these four women is everything. They always have each other's backs, and I love seeing such strong female friendships. It also looks like we're getting the beginnings of a fantastic guys' group, led by the incredible Reed (from My Temptation), which I'm so excited to see more of. I also loved catching up with familiar faces from the rest of the series... and beyond! That surprise appearance had me grinning from ear to ear.
This was another fantastic addition to the Forbidden series. I was hooked from the first page to the last, and I already can't wait to see what F.R. Burns has in store for us next!

This is the third book in The Forbidden Series. There is still one book left in the series before it’s completed.

This story is about Mia and Hudson. Mia is a 22-year-old college student and Hudson is the Dean of her college and now also the substitute teacher of a few of her classes. He is also 24 years older than her, at 46. The attraction is instant the moment they met, but their circumstances and age gap makes it hard for them to be together.
Can they resist each other long enough or will it be their downfall?

I am obsessed with Mia en “Daddy” Hudson. Their love story is just so fun. Mia was always one of my favorites in the friend group because she is also so open and brutally honest. She also has a bratty side to her and Hudson so happens to make it even worse (but he likes it). She likes to push his buttons and not give in so easily. Hudson in return likes to take control and be more dominant, but he’ll find out soon enough that he found his match in Mia.

Even though they have this huge age gap, I mean their age gap is older than her. I truly feel they are on the same level and complement each other in every way. Their chemistry is also off the charts and you can definitely tell during all the spicy scenes, which is ALOT! There is no shortage of smut in this book. Daddy Hudson can definitely get it! ;)

Overall the book was amazing. It’s a very fun and short read. I was so invested in their story, I read it in a day.
It was a fun surprise to see a crossover with another book by F.R. Burns, Since I First Laid Eyes On You. I was also so happy to finally get the answer to who texted Reed in the first book.
This book absolutely deserves 5 stars. I just can’t get enough of Mia and Hudson and wish I got more of them. I can’t wait for the fourth and last book in the series.

You know that feeling when you’re both excited and terrified to start a book? I’ve been team Mia since the beginning of the series, because Mia is a Brat with a capital B, and I relate to her so strongly.

This book is Mia’s story, and oh my god FR, you absolutely did not let me down — from the very first page I was captivated and completely in love with this duo. As I said, Mia is a real handful, the badass of the girl group who fears nothing and no one. Hudson is the perfect dominant Alpha to handle this brat.

And the most delicious part — Hudson is the college Dean and Mia is his student. Plus a big age gap, 22/46 — I was sold the moment these forbidden elements appeared.

The book is sizzling hot (which you can expect when a Brat and an Alpha, both with capital letters, collide), so make sure you have something cold next to you.

Let’s talk for a moment about Hudson’s mouth — dear lord, it is F I L T H Y — give this man a phone book and he’ll turn even that into something forbidden.

What I especially love in this book is how the girls’ friendship remains a big part of the story BUT — their men are quickly forming just as tight of a group.

Those who’ve read FR’s books before might be pleasantly surprised by this one 😉 And I was left with the feeling that we also got a hint about what will happen to the last girl of the quartet, Harper.

A big, big recommendation for fans of forbidden romance. You’ll fly through this one and be left with a good feeling about how skillfully Mia’s story was told.

I was so excited to find out this was going to be Mia’s story. I’ve absolutely adored her from the start. She’s bold, fearless and has the attitude to back it up.

Normally she’s a brat… but in this book? She doubles down on it, and it’s all because of one man—Hudson Davenport.

The moment Hudson sees Mia, and hears that mouth of hers, he’s completely hooked. He doesn’t just want her… he needs her.

Can we also take a moment to appreciate the girls’ group chat? It is absolute perfection. I laughed so many times reading their messages.

When Hudson meets Mia outside of college without realising who she is, the chemistry between them is instant. Getting her on the back of his bike… and then that kiss? Is it hot in here?

Once they finally give in to their attraction… wow. Hot doesn’t even begin to cover it. And Hudson calling himself Daddy? Safe to say I was an absolute puddle.

Their chemistry is off the charts. They can barely keep their hands off each other, but what I loved most was Hudson himself. Beneath all the confidence and dominance is a man who’s completely devoted to Mia. He refuses to hide their relationship and comes up with a plan that is so unapologetically Hudson—and honestly, it was perfect.

The HEA was everything I wanted, and Hudson has completely stolen my heart. This is my favourite book in the series so far, and it didn’t disappoint for a second.

Now bring on Book 4! I am so ready for Harper’s story… especially knowing it involves Bella’s brother. Oof… I already know that’s going to be good.

When the Daddy kink is done right, it absolutely hits and let me tell you that My Downfall absolutely nails it. I was swept up in Hudson & Mia’s forbidden romance. Daddy Hudson captured my attention immediately.

Mia and Hudson are magnetic from the start. She’s 22, all restraint, second‑guessing, and just enough brat energy to make every interaction spark, while he’s 46 and unwavering in his belief that their connection is something he can’t walk away from. And the best part is that he loves that she pushes back. Her defiance doesn’t scare him; it steadies, excites him. It’s part of what makes their dynamic feel alive.

She’s the student who feels everything too deeply and tries to bury it under discipline and distance. He’s the professor who walks into the room already certain that she’s it. That quiet, steady conviction in Hudson makes the whole book hum with tension. He isn’t reckless; he’s intentional, patient, and absolutely convinced that what they have is real.

Hudson takes his role as Daddy very seriously as it leans into that protective, guiding dynamic. The spice is explosive between these two. What was supposed to be just one turns into so much than just sex, feelings become involved too.

The girl gang (Bella, Ava, & Harper) will having you laughing, such a core group of girls. Their guys (Reed & River) welcome Hudson right into the fold. Tons of humor, loyalty, chaos, and heart with this whole group. It feels like stepping into a universe where every side character matters, every friendship has meaning, and every book promises another addictive connection.

My Downfall is a fantastic forbidden romance! I can’t wait for Harper’s story next.

I’m also a huge fan of an age-gap romance, so that was a massive bonus for me.

Just when you thought this series couldn’t get any better, FR Burns gives us Hudson and Mia and OH MY GAWD. From chapter one I was CACKLING. Like full blown wheezing, feral goblin laughter. I'm convinced this book gave my abs a better workout than any gym ever could.

Mia?! That woman is an unhinged little menace in the BEST possible way. I knew she'd be a brat, but sweet mercy... she chose chaos every chance she got and I was cheering her on the entire time. Get it girl 😂 Who could resist this woman?…Definitely not Hudson. This man gets a taste and he’s down bad for eternity. Like literally. And lawddddd have mercy, this man doesn’t have a submissive bone in his body. He was ready to punish Mia in all the sexiest ways for running her mouth every chance he could 🥵

I inhaled every single exchange like it was oxygen. I. ATE. THIS. BOOK. UP. You want spice? FR Burns serves it on an all you can eat daddy buffet platter. My gawd these two are HOT HOT HOT!!!!

Besides all the delicious spice, my favorite moments? Those texts, the group interactions, the girl gang. While you absolutely do not have to read the other books in this series, it does make this book that much more special reading the gang all together. Ugh… I loveddddd it!!!

I am a total sucker for a good age-gap, forbidden romance, and My Downfall by F.R. Burns does not disappoint. The sexual chemistry between the main characters is off the charts. They are absolutely perfect for each other.

Mia is an MBA student who discovers her new instructor is not only the dean, but an absolute catch. Hudson never expected to be teaching more classes this term, but finds himself filling in for a colleague. What he was not prepared for was to encounter a goddess, who challenges him at every turn. Mia knows she's a brat, but Hudson seems to bring it out in strides. Hudson is a goner, not able to resist Mia, wanting nothing more than to tame the brat within her.

This whole forbidden series by F.R. Burns has been amazing. This book's Age Gap, professor/student dynamic, Daddy kink, with the Brat kink blended so well together. I never really bought into the Daddy kink, but it was so hot in this book. Mia’s brattiness felt more of a thrilling power dynamic rather than whiny or over-the-top, and the resulting spice is absolutely delicious. I loved Hudson and Mia’s story and cannot wait for Harper’s turn!

I knew it!! I just knew I was going to absolutely devour this book and sure enough, I. ATE. IT. UP!! The moment these two lock eyes on each other it was over. Neither one had any chance of staying away from one another. The instant attraction, chemistry and banter was great!! Mia, her sass and bratty personality….which by the way she is not ashamed of…it is one of a kind and she keeps that man on his toes. Hudson however is the only person who can handle her and goodness did he. The mouth on Hudson Davenport had me blushing. This man falls immediately and I am here for it. F.R. Burns understood the assignment for Daddy Hudson 🥵 if you love reading a forbidden romance with a brat taming, daddy kink then you need this book in your life.

My Downfall brought me to my knees. Omg I loved everything about it. F.R really knows how to write a down bad man but still makes him an alpha type, and Hudson really was downbad. I have loved all the books in this series, but My Downfall is by far my favourite by a landslide. The found family in this book is so wonderful, and I love the antics the girls get up to. F.R, really gave us everything we wanted out of this book!! It was amazing!!!!

Hudson, our MMC, was hot hot, hot like scorching. Panty melting. The mouth on that man had me biting my knuckles. Ugh, he was just amazing. I loved how hard he fell for Mia and how protective of her she was. Ain't no angst here he was finding loop holes to ensure they stayed together. He was just all-around SWOON.

Mia, our FMC, was so much fun. She was so sassy and brought the perfect amount of brat. She knew what she wanted and she went for it. I love her friendship with the other girls. They are so amazing and caring towards one another. The spicy scenes between these two were off the charts like next level. The chemistry between these two was so perfect, and I would have happily read more and more and more of them.

Daddy Hudson!! 🥵🥵 If you’ve read the previous books then you know how feisty Mia is and the only man who could tame her would be a “Daddy”. The fact he’s the Dean and interim professor at her college makes it even better! Taboo who?! Their chemistry was insane!! This was fast, filthy and fun! I ate it up. Mia is probably my fav FMC so far in this girl gang! She is sassy and bratty and gave Daddy Hudson hell and I was eating it up!! Hudson was so possessive and the mouth on that man 🥵 The push and pull between Mia and Hudson was fun! If you want a quick and smutty read then I would absolutely pick up this book and series!

HOLY HOTNESS 🥵💙 Faye was not playing when she wrote Hudson Davenport. I have loved this whole series but I think Daddy Hudson is my new favorite. This book had so many good tropes. Forbidden, age gap, daddy kink and it was everything.

Hudson is DADDY. This man is the dean, rides a motorcycle and falls instantly for Mia his student. Mia is fierce, strong and a BRAT. These two had an instant connection and the perfect balance to the daddy/brat dynamic.

This book was full of so many spicy scenes that will be living rent free for a while. This book had me sweating 🥵 and could not get enough of them.

I also love this series girl friend group. They are always there for each other no matter what and all strong women. I love their group chats so much and cannot wait to see what Harper’s book brings!

Everything and Anything this author writes, I eat up like a kid in a candy shop. Her Forbidden series is so delicious and this one did not disappoint. If you have been keeping up with this series, it follows a group of best friends and their journey to find love, only love happens to be right in front of them and tad older as well. My Downfall is book three in this series and it follows Mia, a very outspoken and confident young woman and Hudson, Mia's College Dean and Professor.

These two were destined for each other from the moment they set eyes. Mia being the brat she is, likes to talk back in class to get a rise out of Hudson. Hudson can't stop thinking about wanting to control the brat in her. Hudson knows Mia is end game for him but will Mia jump ship knowing she has a whole life ahead of her, you know these woman love a good handsome older guy!

Overall, this novella was delicious and I have been enjoy Faye's forbidden series so much. Please add to your TBR. Its a perfect book for this summer.

Another banger novella by FR Burns. Never would I have thought in a million years that I would be crushing on a college Dean and wishing to go back to college to see if I could find my own Hudson Davenport!

Mia "Brat" was everything I love in a feisty FMC. She was confident and didn't back down when challenged. Her being such a smart mouth made the banter between her and Hudson so entertaining. Even though she tried her hardest to be in charge, she was no match for "Daddy" Hudson Davenport.

Hudson "Daddy" Davenport came from a family of wealth and a love that wasn't warm. On the first day of class, he knew he was in trouble when a mouthy student gave him lip as soon as he walked in. Once their eyes met, he knew he wanted more with her lips than just words.

My Downfall is the 3rd novella in FR Burns series "The Forbidden Series". If you love the daddy kink and forbidden romance, this one is for you!

We all know I love a smutty novella and @frburnsauthor is the absolute queen of them as far as I am concerned. She can do no wrong and every single one she writes always hits perfectly.

My Downfall is the third is the forbidden series and is you have been reading, you already adore Mia. She the wild card of the ultimate girl friendship group that we all desperately want to be a part of. And as the FMC in My Downfall she doesn’t disappoint.

Strong, feisty, full of sass; Hudson doesn’t stand a chance. And Hudson, an absolute daddy and literally the dream 🥵.

As always @frburnsauthor has cramming into under 250 pages, a fun, super spicy love story with taboo elements. It’s a couples story with out unnecessary plot lines and I absolutely ate it up.

There is a reason @frburnsauthor should be everyone’s go to for novellas and My Downfall is another example of why!!! Read this whole series and you can thank me later!!!

I devour any and everything Faye writes so it’s no surprise I absolutely ate up Mia and Hudson. These two are so freaking fun! Mia is the perfect sassy and sweet mix. From the moment she sasses Hudson, he’s so gone for her. But, as the dean of MIA’s university, Daddy Hudson is supposed to be off limits. Which of course makes it that much hotter 🔥

I adore this series so much. The girl gang has been top notch from book 1 and the guy gang just keeps getting better. The group chat?? Had me rolling in tears. And of course, a very special shout out to Reed, I just keep falling hard for with each book!

Thank you, Faye for allowing me on this journey with you! I cannot wait for what’s next with this Forbidden series 🤭

Oo this book was such a fun read!

Perfect for a quick and forbidden read, the novella works a the perfect pace, it’s fast and it’s hot. It’s an interconnected standalone, but I recommend reading in order for best read!

Mia is a badass and absolute brat, I loved her! Hudson? The Dean & Her new professor? Yes, sign me up! The age gap? Perfection, the insta love? Love it love it!

I loved that the book follows their journey but also includes some of the previous couples/friends, the girls friendship group is what all girls can wish for, supportive, funny and I loved the protectiveness!

Overall, if you are after a quick read which includes, age gap, forbidden romance (student/professor), spice (a lot) and just to be even extra? A daddy kink? Well this is the perfect read for you! Enjoy!

I’ve loved every F. Burns book I’ve read, and this one was no exception!

As part of the Forbidden series, this book delivers a delicious professor/student romance with plenty of tension from the very beginning.

It was light, fast paced, hilarious, and so spicy. I flew through it because I simply couldn’t put it down.

Mia and Hudson completely stole my heart. Mia was such a brat in the best possible way. I adored her attitude and how she constantly challenged Hudson. Their banter was absolutely top tier, and watching their little power struggles had me laughing so many times.

The chemistry between them was undeniable, and the light daddy kink added another fun layer to their dynamic without overshadowing the story.

If you enjoy forbidden romance, witty banter, unforgettable chemistry, and plenty of spice, I definitely recommend picking this one up!

Book 3 in The Forbidden series: Hudson and Mia. This is a professor/dean x student, billionaire MMC, mouthy and bold FMC, found family, age gap (46/22), motorcycle riding MMC, possessive MMC, “mine”, he falls first and harder, great banter, instant attraction, secret relationship, college setting, contemporary forbidden romance.
This is the third novella in a four book series of interconnected standalones. So, while you do not need to read the previous two to enjoy this book I will definitely be going back and reading them because this book was just that good! I really enjoyed this read from start to finish. Both main characters were fantastic, both as individuals and as a couple. And if anyone would be able to find a loophole to make his relationship work, it would be Hudson. Cannot wait to go back and read the first two and continue the series when the next book comes out!

First of all, happy release day!!!

This book was so sweet, I wanted to cry! Especially at the line about her being his eternity. 😭

This book was super spicy! There were a few times where Hudson being too dominant, outside of the bedroom, frustrated me a little at how controlling he was being, but overall I loved his character so much! He's so supportive in what she wants to do in life, and wants to give her that and more. 🥰

I wish there had been more pages because I just wanted to keep reading. I didn't want Hudson and Mia's story to end.

Thank you to F.R. for allowing me to have the amazing opportunity to read the ARC for this book and trusting me with it! I will definitely be reading more of your books. I need more of this series! I think its time for Harper to get her person after seeing the rest of the girls with their men. 🤣

From the moment Hudson first interacts with Mia, he knows she will be a dangerous temptation who needs a Daddy to keep her in line. He doesn’t want to risk the temptation but the more time Mia spends bratting him in class, that harder it is to ignore.
 
Despite all the reasons they should stay away from one another, the pull together is to strong for them to ignore. From the professional Dean to the Bedroom Daddy, can Hudson & Mia survive sneaking around despite all the risks?
 
This naughty little novella was jammed full of spice and the group chat between Mia and her girl gang was hilarious! F.R. was a new to me author and I’m so glad I took the chance on this one! I look forward to reading the previous books in this series as well as the next one!

Daddy Hudson has entered the chat and I am not letting him go! This story was full of delicious spicy scenes and I could not get enough. Mia was written perfectly with the brat trope. She was not obnoxious and just the right amount of brat. And, oh boy, did she use it to get what she wanted from Daddy Hudson.

This was a fun, quick read packed with spice! I absolutely loved the setup here, I felt like it was a custom cocktail of all my favorite things- age gap, professor/student, a bratty FMC and a Daddy kink- 1,000 times yes!

The tension in the beginning was great, especially with Mia antagonizing Hudson, this is always a dynamic that will get high praise from me. The spice was also on point and we got tons of it, this is a great book when you want to just have a good time and not deal with chapters and chapters of suffering to get there.

I know this was a novella but I would’ve LOVED if this was a longer novel, the tension and build-up opportunity there would be perfection. I wanted more!
