Review of advance copy

ARC Review - Thank you Samantha Zeidan for a digital advance readers copy of Shadows of Summer.
This story definitely earned it's fourth star in the last 15% of the book. While it was very interesting and kept me turning the pages, I was feeling a little lost and started wondering when it was all going to come together. And boy did it ever.
First of all, my favorite part of this story is the main character, Sadie. She's such a socially awkward but funny character. She definitely kept things fun. A great contrast to the tone of the story packed with murder, ghosts, demons, mystery, and trauma.
I could tell there was something more going on as the story progressed. And that the moments I felt confused, I realized were somewhat intentional. Though there are multiple POVs, the story belongs mostly to Sadie. So things are revealed at a pace that makes sense from her perspective. Which I loved. Making me experience her shock, surprise, and betrayal right along with her.
The ending was satisfying, but left room to grow. I'm not sure if there will be another book, but if there is I will definitely be reading it.

ARC review-Thank you so much S.L Zeidan for letting me be one of the first readers for Shadows of Summer. This book was so good. The plot twists had me hanging on for dear life. The plot was a little all over the place but it just made it super fun. The MMC, August literally has no business being so funny.
Highly recommend!
