People float in and out of our lives and sometimes, when you least expect it one person changes everything.

Tessa Ashby was abandoned in an East Coast boarding school, merely existing, never truly feeling loved. Before fulfilling obligations her father has sentenced her to, she escapes and breathes eight weeks of freedom in southern California.

Bodhi loves: his music, his body and his buddies...the order is debatable depending on the day. His past taught him to be selective with the people he trusts. Bodhi doesn’t date, and he was lucky if he remembered a woman's name. He was alone in a world of people. All that changed when an innocent, brown-eyed, smart mouthed beauty showed up on his doorstep.

Are they the answer to each other’s prayers or will manipulation and deception destroy them?

HI! The Just One of the Guys series was my first writing experience. I love writing romance. I struggle writing sex… But usually like the end product. I think…

I work part-time as a probation officer for juveniles. But i spend the majority of my time with two of the most freakishly awesome boys ever...MY two sons!

I am a huge Kansas Jayhawk fan, Oregon Duck fan and Chicago Cubs! I'm deliciously addicted to music...Love all kinds! Dr. Pepper is a close second in my addictions.

Life is taken way to seriously by most...i say enjoy every moment, have a drink and READ!

4.5 Time is Ticking Stars

Ever get that feeling that time is working against you? Like your kids are growing up too fast or Christmas came faster this year? Yeah....time works against you sometimes. And the more you are aware of it, the faster it goes.

Tess is on summer vacation. She wants to forget her stuffy boarding school, absent parents, and lonely life. Her fun starts on the plane and continues with her party girl cousin, Elle and her friends. Tess may actually have fun this summer.

Everything inside me told me to look away, but I didn't. i couldn't. That damn baseball cap was still in place.

That baseball cap? It was firmly on the head of Bodhi. Bodhi, the sexy cap wearing, guitar playing hottie who has his eye on Tess. But Bodhi has lots he doesn't want to Tess to know. He has a past. Some not so private.

I wasn't sure being close to Bodhi was a good idea.

Tess and Bodhi both know their time together is limited. She lives on the east coast and he lives on the west coast. What they don't know is that there is more than a continent keeping them apart. They have to battle her dad, the police, false accusations, body guards, crazy exes, and most of all...the clock. And the calendar.

I loved Tess and Bodhi. They are sweet and willing to sacrifice for each other. Bodhi wants Tess to have the best experiences. Experiences she hasn't had before.

She deserves someone who will be good to her. That pretty much counts me out.

Bad decisions are made all around. Can they overcome geography and a worse than neglectful family?

This is another great read from Ms Pelton. It has the right mix of angst, fun, and the need to yell at the characters. Oh yeah, I yelled at my Kindle. So don't let time pass before you One Click.

I absolutely adore this author! I have been searching for another book from this author after loving her Just One of the Boys Series. This story was amazing and I fell for all the characters. I really hope this turns into a series because it kind of left Elle hanging at the end. I also adored Ty and the rest of the guys...hint, hint!!! Keep writing Kristi Pelton!!

I couldn't get enough of this Bodhi has claimed #1 spot for book boyfried. Where to start you have Tessa who went to an all girls school never really got to experience life. So when she gets to spend the summer with her cousin that's when her life changes. She meets Ty on her flight down , hes in a band everything she don't expect to see again so enjoys a good time on flight with him. That's when she didn't expect her Cousin to be friends with the guys in the band it's not Ty that Tessa has a crush on it's the mysterious Bodhi the jot guitarist how there is something hidden behind that tough enterior. That's when it all starts Tessa enjoys hanging out with all the guys and her cousin Elle joking around drinking. It's true when they say opposites attract cause Bodhi and Tessa aka Slick are just that. Tessa starts to hang out with Bodhi when her cousin throws something at Tes where you would think it would change her view but she left it up to herself to decide. The connection Bodhi and Tessa form in this book is Amazing and it isn't until they are seperated that your heart truly breaks for them. There is no way that Tessa's father would allow her to be seen with a band member. What he does to win her back just makes you ahhh. I absolutely loved this books I was left in a book hangover after I was done.

Wow!!! I was left speechless after reading this beautiful book. Ms. Pelton definitely made me love her with this brilliant book!!! Tessa was such a beautiful character that it broke my heart to read how she was treated by her family. I totally loved the relationship she had with her cousin Elle, but once Ty and Bodhi and the gang stepped into the picture.....I couldn't get enough of the relationship of Bodhi and Tessa. It was amazing to be a part of this work of art....but once the twist happened....my heart broke!!! I literally wanted to throw up!!! I never saw it coming to the extreme that it did...it left me sitting on the edge of my seat and unable to put this book down. I had to see what was gonna happen next!!! Ms. Pelton didn't disappoint me...Thank God, but she made me work for it. ;)

I will definitely be re-reading this beauty in the future. And that epilogue....A-MA-ZING!!! :)

Thank you Ms. Pelton...I will definitely be reading more of your work!! ;)

This was ok - definitely not my favorite by this author. I had a really hard time getting into this one. Tessa's inner-monologue annoyed me and I wasn't crazy about Bodhi either. I didn't get the insta-love connection between these two characters. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone else from reading this - maybe it just simply didn't work for me or I went into it with a book hangover. The positives about this book is that it had a really good ending and a sweet epilogue. I really enjoyed this authors other books and she will continue to be an auto-buy author for me.

My very, very, very favorite book in a long time.

Okay, I hated the backround of Tessa. So her aunt is okay with her coming to visit her.... but when she never shows up there, shes okay with that as well? And her parents don't even care where they are, but when they realize, that she is dating a rockstar, they do everything to stop that??? Didn't make sense, but nevermind.

Tess stepped out of the car and BAM, there's Bodhi! And the more their story goes on, the more you realize that they are obviously made for each other. Of course. Nothing new here. BUT!!!

I loved the way Bodhi was behaving.
The Badboy really does suite him. The way Tess is decribing him screams Badboy. But when he realizes that Tessa is just as crazy about him as he is about her, his whole attitude towards her changes. He is suddenly the sweet boy of every girls dreams. But the best part is, it never seemed forced. It was realistic.

I couldn’t put this book down! I was instantly drawn in from the prologue and devoured this book in one sitting!

We meet Tess, who’s 17 and on her way to California to spend the summer with her cousin before starting her senior year of high-school. When she meets Ty on the plane an instant bond is created, and she tells him she’s 18, because she never thinks she’ll see him again. Ty ends up giving her his number in case she wants to hang out while she’s in town. Tess never thought she’d see him, again, but that night Elle takes her out and she realizes that her cousin is friends with Ty and the mysterious Bodhi.

Something about Bodhi draws Tess in, and she really only has eyes for him, until she overhears him saying he doesn’t want her. The first few times these two are near each other, never end up good, and usually ends up in tears from Tess, or her running away. Finally Bodhi realizes that he does want Tess, and all bets are off, he’s diving in head first, and this is something he has NEVER done.

Tess and Bodhi‘s relationship spans two months in the summer, and these months together are amazing, and you can tell they definitely love one another. Everything changes one night and they are instantly separated. Bodhi finds a way to see her again, but again is taken away from her.

I loved how Tess and Bodhi‘s story played out. My heart broke for Tess and everything she’s gone through, and how she really has no one. Parents who don’t care, and all of her friends from California taken away from her. I loved them together, and my heart broke right along with theirs when they were separated.

Tess and Bodhi‘s relationship isn’t easy. The time they spend apart is way more than the time they are together. Watching the vixen come out in Tess when Bodhi is with her was awesome to read. She was shy and so unsure of herself when we first met her, and by the time this book is over she has grown and changed so much.

Each of the characters in this book were likeable (well except Tess’s father) and as a reader I connected with each of them. I loved how each of the side characters helped develop the story between Tess and Bodhi. I loved how the guys were scared of Bodhi, but also so protective of Tess. Ty is HILARIOUS and I hope one day to read his book. Elle is a hot mess, but I love her, even though she does do some stupid things.

This story is one hell of a ride and just what I needed. I loved the fast love, the heartbreak, and the finding each other once again. The epilogue of this book was beautiful and left me feeling so happy inside.

This is the first book of Kristi Pelton’s I’ve read, and I can definitely say I will be picking up more from her! Tess and Bodhi‘s story is beautiful and I loved every single word in it!

Slick by kristi pelton

First thing I want to say is....I'm in the acknowledgements in the back of this book and that is the coolest thing ever! I love this lady more and more! Ok onto the book, I loved it! Everyone that knows me well, knows that I am a die hard Zach fan! (Just one of the guys series by kristi pelton, if you haven't read it, do..but hands off my man!) anyway, Bodhi actually comes pretty close, so I know this is a work of art.

Tess aka Slick, is a Boston Rich Girl. She's been brought up in a private school for girls and has been kissed twice in her life. At 17, nearly 18, she boards a plane to set off to California to spend 2 months summer holidays with her cousin Elle. Tessa's plan is too find herself while she's with her free spirited cousin, and do all the things she's never done before. Drink, party, dance, have the time of her life, and most importantly....sex! Little does she know, that her seat buddy on the plane, is about to open up a world to read that she never imagined, it's going to be a rollercoaster, but she's buckled in and ready for the ride of her life.
Bodhi is a guitar playing, baseball cap wearing rockstar! Well, actually, he persons with his mates doing small gigs in a local venue singing power ballads and getting paid very little, but he absolutely loves it. He's a typical Jack the lad, getting his leg over is his extra curricular activity, along with getting his room mates to drink less and cut the weed. However, one day, a girl in pearls stumbles onto his front porch and smashes into his life. Monogamy is a new concept for this easy going guy, but sometimes, you find the person that is going to make all the dreams you never thought you had, come true.

If you haven't read any of Kristi Pelton's books, your missing out. This is a scorcher, and well worth your time, ive loved it. It's 5 stars from me!!

To Have Something This Special...

The title of my review is exactly how I feel about this book,
To have something this special is more than a gift. It's a blessing.

The author takes you on a ride from one end of the country to the other and in between gives you a story that sweeps you off your feet. There is so many feelings in this story...you've been brought directly into it and have to stay until the end and that means you're staying up pretty late because you don't want to leave.

The couple in this book are "beautifully complicated" and Ms. Pelton writes in a style that is true to real life and she just writes what must feel right to her because you just can tell by reading her words. AMAZING!

This book is a standalone and I can only wish/pray that she will bring more of these characters to life because she created a few that leave you wondering....hmmm!! MUST KNOW MORE...NEED MORE!! Ms. Pelton, don't stop now...keep that brain working your magic!!

Thank You for taking me "into" this crazy beautiful book of yours and taking me "out" of my reality for a brief moment..I needed this truly and I am so grateful!

Simply beautiful.

I usually find good books to read on GR, from my friends reviews or on blogs I follow. This time something special happened.
I saw the cover on the cover designer's facebook page, and something clicked. I had this book on my TBR for a long time because I knew nothing about this author, and mostly because I tend to buy books from authors I read before. That way I know what I'm buying and reading.

So... welcome to my fav authors list, Kristi Pelton.

After staying up all night to finish the book, I must say Slick is in my top 3 books I read this year. I'm too tired to write a full review and give spoilers, but I felt I just HAD to write down this:

You have to read this.
It's beautiful.
Epic.
A book that for sure would find a place in your favorite book list.
The writing style is amazing, and I'm just gonna spend the weekend reading some more from this author, probably skipping another night.
Because she is THAT good.

I loved the story Bodhi and Tessa. This book is like a roller coaster. So many ups and downs and than more UP'S. I loved all the the Characters along with Bodhi and Tess. Especially Ty. But. I hated, hated Tessa's Father. I've never read a book with one person doing so much multiplication to his own Daughter and Bodhi. I couldn't stand him.
But, when Bodhi finally has all the information and truth he gives right back to Mr. Ashby. And Bodhi gets him Good.

I loved the epilogue. Tessa and Bodhi's love will last forever. They own each other body and sole

You will not regret reading "Slick" and taking the ride with Bodhi and Tessa. And the whole Gang in California

Haha I Loved It

What a sweet romance novel. Nothing like a hot sexy alpha male who plays an instrument and a sweet innocent heroine. Bodhi and Tess are such a sweet couple with all the quirks of a young romance, the fear, uncertainty, and of course the differences in family status to build a gap between the two. I love reading HEA novels. Don't get me wrong I love reading all genres period but that happy ending novel once in awhile is just so sweet. When you find love and it's true, time makes no difference. That's what this novel gives the reader.

Love...Love...Love!!!! Slick was a stand alone book by Kristi Pelton and in my honest opinion it ROCKED!!! I instantly fell in love with this storyline and the depth and emotion that Kristi put into it. My favorite part was the epilogue which was amazing!! The characters were perfect with depth, emotion, love and a ton of smoking hot chemistry. Bodhi & Tessa had a once in a lifetime love story and I would highly recommend this read!!

Kristi.... thank you for Bodhi!!!

I really enjoyed this book! I love how cute and innocent Tessa is.... it was a nice change to having read so many hard and strong heroine's, I thought with her being only 17 it would be weird but it wasnt. It was beautiful how he looked out for her and how he was so gentle with her. I would have liked maybe a bit more back story from them both and more of the chase but it was so sweet when they came together.

I wanted more of their story from four years later.... that section was pretty brief and then it went straight into the epilouge. I really wanted more and I am eager to see whether this remains as a stand alone or whether we get to see anymore books from any of the O-Seed boys.

Bodhi Ellingston is gorgeous and so swoon worthy!!! The cover to this book is exactly how Bodhi is descibed and it has got to be by far one of the hottest covers to a book I have read!!!! He is sooooooooo yummy and the hat.... well, never have I loved a snapback hat so much lol.... BODHI ROCKS HATS :D

He is every girls ideal book boyfriend and how he is with Tessa will simply make your heart melt...

I recommend you read this book if you want a book thats fill with soft romance with hints of a hot alpha male ;p

A virgin who was kept at boarding school since the age of 5 meets a 21yr old band member who changes everything. I enjoyed the 1st half of the book immensely, the 2nd half was just ok. Every now and then you want a light read with a small amount of cheese to end a story, and this little stand alone fit the role.

Damn this book was so hot! And you would think with a name like Bodhi he would be geek. Which he is the complete opposite. He's gorgeous, and bad Abd omg that temper makes you hot! Like you need a cold shower hot lol. It suck's Thst Tessa’s had shitty parents that controlled her. But honestly she was stuck till she turned 18. Been there and done thst. Parents can really suck sometimes especially when it comes to them not liking or approving from the person you are dating. Some parents take it to far. In the end though we can't help who our hearts fall in love with.

Tessa is a 17 year old on her way to CA to visit her cousin Elle. She is taking a summer break from her affluent all girl school. She meets a nice guy on the plane and they talk on the whole flight. Ty figures out Tessa comes from money and she finds out him and his friends are in a band. She offers Ty a ride in the limo that is waiting on her at the airport. When she drops off Ty he introduces her to the rest of the band and she immediately notices Bodhi.

Her cousin Elle is waiting on her and super excited to see her and they go hang out with her friends, who coincidentally are neighbors with Bodhi and Ty. Tessa cannot keep her eyes away from Bodhi and he seems to be having the same issue. They do not talk much that night, but there is a drinking game of "I never" and she finds out a few things about Bodhi. He doesn't date, has never been in a relationship, but does hook up. As a member of the O-Seed band he has his choice of women. One that shows up at the house, but is avoided by Bodhi. Tessa and Elle spend a lot of time with the guys because Elle is dating one of them and she doesn't go home a lot. Her mom is an alcoholic and they do not get along.

Bodhi immediately feels something towards Tessa. He is jealous because she sticks close to Ty and they end up having a conversation about it. Ty is interested but he notices that Tessa in leaning more towards Bodhi. There is a little push and pull between Bodhi and Tessa, but that does not last long.

They quickly get involved and Bodhi finds out just how innocent Tessa is. He also finds out she has led a very sheltered life and her parents suck. Her mother could care less about her and as far as her father is concerned, all he wants is for the family to look good. Bodhi has no communication with his parents. When he decided to become a musician he is cut off completely and at one time had to work three different jobs.

Both Bodhi and Tessa know she will have to go home at the end of the summer, but as they spend more time together it is harder and harder to think about that. Tessa is already picturing staying in CA and Bodhi for the first time in his life wants to be with her and only her and is devastated at the thought she will be leaving.

By this time Tessa has been told by her cousin Elle exactly what Bodhi did in order to support himself and the evidence is everywhere. Tessa did not care but promises not to tell Bodhi she knows which ends up being the catalyst of this story.

Craziness ensues......There are arrests, arranged marriages, lies, manipulation, falsified records, court orders, fraudulent jail records, restraining orders, the truth about her age, drug use, money offers, recording contracts, family secrets, and the separation of Bodhi and Tessa.

There were a few things I did not like in this story, and things I did especially the way Bodhi and Tessa found there way back to each other even with all the craziness. Once Bodhi fell for Tessa that was it. He suffered the separation just as much as she did.

I will admit that I was a little apprehensive about this book because of the cover! Don't get me wrong the guy on there is hot but it didn't tell much about the story.
That being said!
I absolutely loved it.
Bodhi is a damaged bad boy with a past filled with bad decisions and he is in need of a lot of love.
Tessa is a sheltered teenager trying to find herself over the summer before going back to school!
These two together is like setting off fireworks! They are both so insecure and new to the whole relationship thing, that it takes them some time before they can truly connect.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this book! It is really a great read!
well done Kristi, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!
