(PR)IDE explores LGBTQIA+ visibility through the lens of Public Relations in South Africa. It examines how brands, media, families, and digital platforms shape queer narratives and how PR can either reinforce harmful stereotypes or drive meaningful inclusion. From pinkwashing and cancel culture to digital safety, coming out, the rebranding of gender, and the myth of "un-African" queerness, the book challenges communicators to rethink their responsibility. Grounded in the values of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, it positions PR as a powerful tool for accountability, education and social change.
