I really enjoyed reading Blaque and Ariela’s love journey. Blaque reached out to Ari to do a documentary about his life but ended up receiving so much more. Them connecting was the perfect aligning of their lives together along with mending wounds from the past as Ariela, Erin, and Bernard were brought back together after twenty years of being separated due to Erin/Bubbles abduction. Blaque ended up adopting Mav and Lim from Bubbles not knowing that she was abducted and being séx trafficked and raised them in Christ with the help of his mom, Blanche, and stepfather, Drew, while he was out on the road racing. I liked that they were a God fearing, faith based, close knit family unit and Ari fit right in with them from the very beginning. It was beautiful how everyone came together and to welcome and help Erin transition back home after being rescued and completing rehab. One documentary resulted with Blaque and Ari falling in love and getting married, Mav and Lim being reconnected with their mom, learning her kidnapping and horror story, and meeting her family, Cross Examination transitioning to Project É.R.A. and the opening of a nonprofit organization, Momma B and Ari doing live streams together, Blaque traveling doing motivational speaking engagements, and Mav at college being captain of the football team, starting a young adult Bible study group on campus, volunteering at local shelters, and mentoring incoming freshmen. They were really a family unit pouring out and purpose driven by allowing God’s light to shine through them.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Beautiful, Faith-Filled Journey of Love and Growth
I just finished Driven By Purpose: A Faith Fueled Love by Shari Brown, and it is an absolute masterpiece. I am happily giving it five stars! Right from the beginning, I was hooked by the unique setting. I absolutely loved learning a little bit about a sport that few African Americans are traditionally represented in. It was incredibly refreshing, educational, and added such a rich layer to the entire book. Shari Brown does a phenomenal job with the character dynamics. I was captivated by the deep interconnectedness of everyone in the story—nothing felt random, and every relationship had meaning. Watching these characters navigate their paths and grow hit really close to home for me; it held up a beautiful mirror that highlighted areas where I need to focus on my own personal growth as well. At its core, this book weaves a stunning tapestry of love. While the romance between the main characters is gorgeous, the book also tells a beautiful family love story. The deep, meaningful bonds between the main characters and their family members are just as moving to witness. Without giving any spoilers away, the ultimate heartbeat of this book is a powerful message of hope: it serves as a beautiful reminder to never give up faith, because God can and absolutely will do a miracle when the time is right. If you are looking for an inspiring, wholesome, and deeply moving read, look no further. Highly recommended!
Not me in literal tears finishing Ariela and Blaque’s story?! Whew, Lord, I’ve seen wirhat you’ve done for fictional others…
This was such a sweet, intentional, and good read! The way I can literally see the characters and scenarios. I took my time reading this because it really deserves that much attention. It’s something about letting God use you and then writing out the experience too. So many gems.
Ima go pray and please remember God is still working on me because the way Erin’s teacher got the easy way out…
I really enjoyed reading Ariela and Blaque's story. I'm a daddy's girl so Ariela and Erin's dad not changing anything in the house because he knew she was alive, would come back one day and didn't want her to think the family moved on without her really stuck with me. I love when a Christian Fiction isn't just all cute and fluffy. I want to see hard topics because we serve a God who can heal and redeem and I think it's important for stories to show that. It was written beautifully and I'm eager to read more of Shari's work.
Shari Brown, I love love love your pen. This new obedience you're on is beautiful. This was a hard, emotional read on one hand, on the other oh my lawd the lessons on faith, forgiveness and true love was just amazing to me. That's why I try not to judge when I see certain folk, we never know what a person is going through. It was so good seeing a man leading his life as God would have him to. Having so much love inside his heart was just sweet. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤨🤗🤗🤗
Although I kind of saw the plat from the beginning, I loved this book and will probably read it two or three more times. This was so amazing. I love the faith based mindset, no matter the field how the couples build together how they pray together how the families come together. Now I need to know what happened. I need to extended epilogue to see how they build in the future.
Before I was half way through I knew I was going to give this a five star because I was loving the story. I thought I was going to write that this was my first read from this author but when I looked it up it’s actually my second and I’m becoming a fan. First it’s Christian fiction and a love story that will have you pulled in and rooting for the characters. It’s funny and will put a smile on your face with the way the story unfolds.
Whew this was a very spiritual book. I love how this book was connected to God an believes. A great love story. Mr Sutton is so sweet an was a God fearing man. I love how he went hard for his family an kids. It was such a sad part how Ariel childhood went im.so glad Erin got her life together an was found.
Since being saved I’ve had a hard time finding Christian romance books that are my vibe. This book wasn’t overly cookie cutter and definitely not boring. The characters had personalities and quirks about them. It was entertaining and still clean for believer. I will be reading more.
If I could I would give this standalone more than 5 stars. In one of the chapters it said driven by a devine purpose and I totally agree. God definitely had a hand on this family. I highly recommend this book. Don't sleep on it. Being front VA, 804 area, I'm familiar with many of the scenes
I enjoy this book. This is my first read from this author and I loved it. The story was relatable and believable. The characters were well developed. Most importantly the book was laced with Christian virtues. If you are looking for something different and yet refreshing I would recommend reading this one
I love Blaque and Ari’s story and the spirituality in this book. The prayers were very touching. I especially loved how discipline the young teenage boys were. You don’t find that too often nowadays. This was a beautiful story written with emotions and love. I enjoyed my reading time!
This one really had me in my feelings. I laughed cried and laughed some more. I loved how it came together and it just shows us that God is always working it out on our behalf even when we don’t see it. Then He works it out better than we could have imagined. Lived it ❤️
As a person that cries easily… I don’t ever find books that make me cry but this one did😭 it was so beautiful I went back & forth between crying and smiling hard as ever. I would definitely read more from Shari!
I really love reading from this author, her books keep me wanting more! I read until I have to stop, and when it ends, I'm looking for her next book! The bible scriptures, the prayers, the faith that all things are possible with God! Is awesome!!!
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I was not disappointed. I didn't expect some of the things that occurred through out, but it was very emotional. I will continue to follow this author and read her new works.
This story had me crying one minute laughing the next!! I felt a lot closer to my spiritual walk ! I’m glad things looked up for everyone!! With God on your side you can make it through the storm .
