Ten years of academic rivalry. Five days trapped at sea. One surprise heat that obliterates the line between hating him and wanting him.
FinnLucas Freeman is the last alpha in the world I want to be stuck on a boat with. Ten years ago, he was the golden-boy alpha who blew up my life. Now, thanks to a last-minute staffing screw-up, I’m trapped on a tiny, swaying research vessel with the one man I’ve spent a decade trying to one-up.
I’m supposed to be running this expedition, but Lucas is still doing that thing where he looks at me like he’s got all the answers. He’s smug, he’s infuriatingly chiseled, and his aquatic alpha scent is everywhere, making it impossible to think straight. Our banter has always been a contact sport, and frankly, I can’t tell if I want to shove him overboard or pin him to the bulkhead and find out if he tastes as good as he smells.
It’s going to be a long five days.
Lucas
If looks could kill, Finn Gallagher would have murdered me a hundred times over. I'd say we're academic rivals, but at this point, I think he genuinely just hates my guts. I took this job to make amends, but Finn’s sharp tongue and even sharper body are bringing up feelings I've been trying to push down for the last decade.
When gale-force winds knock out the ship’s power, our professional rivalry and the expedition are thrown into chaos. Finn’s heat suppressants have failed, and suddenly, the small vessel is filled with a sweet, intoxicating scent that makes every "shut up" he snarls feel like a dare to something more.
But just because he's in heat, doesn't mean he'll be going down without a fight. We’re either going to kill each other before we reach the shore, or I’m going to do whatever it takes to get him through this heat—and make sure he never wants to run from me again.
Finn & Lucas is a sweet and steamy enemies-to-lovers MM omegaverse novella featuring a forced proximity "only one bed" trope, snarky academic banter that doubles as foreplay, and a surprise heat that changes everything. This is the fourth standalone installment in the Sudden Heats series, where biological emergencies lead to permanent bonds and friendships turn into forever. This series does NOT feature mpreg, is non-shifter omegaverse, and HEAs are guaranteed.
I love how quick and spicy these books are. I loved the banter in this book and even though I didnt understand any of the science stuff, I didnt feel overwhelmed by the amount of information. They were cute and cocky. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a quick read.
