This is an excellent introduction to the Akashic Records. These are “records of every soul´s journey, from the time it first individuates from Source until it finally returns home”, i.e. it is a “place” where you can access all that you have done, all that you have been, in all past lives, and also provides information about your present one, including what you came here to do.

I would recommend this book together with Linda Howe´s book “How to read the Akashic records”, which is more detailed, and contains precise instructions for accessing the records, including how to talk to your previous incarnations in order to elucidate current problems.

However, the present book contains three powerful access prayers (instead of just the one), including a preliminary “Intention for Clarity Prayer” and a concluding prayer to fill up with the highest Akashic energy.

Lisa also gives us:

1) The Forgiveness Prayer
2) The Prayer for Physical Clearing
3) The Prayer for Clearing Others´ Energies
4) The Prayer for Clearing Entities and Energy patterns (I found this one particularly useful, but then they all are useful)
5) The Prayer for Aligning with your Soul.

She also provides us with lots of useful questions to deepen our Akashic Record Work.

I will not disguise the fact that I sometimes find it difficult to hear the answers to my questions within the Records, while at times I receive wonderful information and have deep experiences. It is necessary to access the Records consistently and as often as possible, preferably every day, for progress to be made.

I strongly recommend this book, if you are prepared to apply yourself to the necessary work and practice. I look forward to reading further books on the subject by Lisa Barnett, when she writes them.

While I loved Smith and Shaw’s “Do It Yourself Akashic Wisdom” (link), I didn’t really warm up to Barnett’s The Infinite Wisdom of the Akashic Records. Barnett’s approach seemed to me to be too structured and ritualistic. For example, she says that you must use your “legal name” to fully access your Akashic records. I can see using her prayers as inspiration, but reading her prayers and inserting your legal name just doesn’t feel right to me. She also says no alcohol within 8 to 12 hours of an attempt to access your Akashic records — so much for that glass of wine. I spoke to a psychic, who I respect, and she disagreed with Barnett’s approach. To each his own … I suppose.

The book is slow to build, the first chapter feels like one of those internet ads for a “simple trick to …” but it never tells you the simple trick. Eventually, we land on an ad for Barnett’s 4-part training course complete with website address. I looked them up on the web and the prices of the courses varied between $350 to $450.

That being said, the book is an easy read. The 4 chapters have a pleasant and positive vibe to them and it was an interesting read. I don’t think that I would recommend it for your home library, but it would be something to check out at the library. I give "The Infinite Wisdom of the Akashic Records" 3 stars out of 5.
