"Yoga emphasizes on a warm up that gently raises your heart beat and sun salutation is a perfect exercise for this purpose. Surya namaskar or sun salutation is a series of 12 postures meant to be performed in a flow. As the name suggests, surya namaskar is to be done ideally in the morning while facing the sun. The yogis of ancient India used it as a technique for absorbing the vitality and energy of the sun. Therefore, the best time for practice is early in the morning, preferably around the time of sunrise. But you can obviously perform sun salutations anytime when your schedule permits. Just make sure that you have been on an empty stomach for at least two hours."

Actually a really good book. I would have given it 5 stars if they had example poses in the book. There were no pictures. It had great descriptions. but it would have be much better with pictures or links to youtube videos on how to do the pose.

Still a great book to learn about the different kinds of Yoga.
