Queen of Fire

Rate this book
Their story doesn’t end with “they fell in love.” That was only the beginning. Falling was as easy as breathing for those two.

Vale

New world, new me. That’s what I’ve been faced with after falling for Oliver. But now, I’m stuck. A part of me that was hidden away resurfaces, and my worst fears come true. The shame of my past casts a long shadow over my future with the man I love. And this man has his own secrets. Will I be able to show him the truth? Will he offer me his? Or will we lose each other because we’ve learned to hide those scars even from ourselves?

Oliver

Every day, Vale changes just a little more. I was aware that she concealed things from me, but I believed that with patience she would eventually allow me to shoulder the weight of her burdens. I understood that learning the intricacies of an immortal world would be challenging, but I had no inkling of the impending changes. What’s coming might change us all.

Now, there’s no time for her to settle in—and only change begets change. Will we find our happily ever after?

This is a spicy paranormal romance. Please read trigger warnings.

Thanks so much Dame for my ARC I was so excited to see where Oliver and Vale future headed. This is HYSTERICAL, emotional and sexy. All the characters feel alive and the lore is both nostalgic and fresh at the same time! Love the expanded world building and diving more into Vale’s back story! A thoroughly enjoyable read!

Omg I am IN LOVE with Vale and Oliver!!! But also…. Lais and Nick… what in the holy crackle was that???

I was very blessed to enjoy this story and the amazing talent that Dame Rho possesses! I am normally not one for the fantastical but Dame does it in such a natural way that it just seems…. Right.

I am not gonna lie… the magical orgasmic jizz is by far the most funniest thing I have read in years!

Dame, never stop. Your stories need to see daylight, need to find their people. They matter… because it isn’t just a fairytale with a lot of peens… it is also a story of survival and of overcoming abuse… and you wrote it down beautifully.

Thank you 🫶

Favourite quotes:

“Love doesn’t tear down, it lifts up. I’ll show you what love is”

“I think you two just made me ovulate.”

“I get to live the dream, when I’d always thought I’d be alone.”

“.. till we turn to dust and float out into the universe amongst the stars.”

This book was exactly what I needed... It starts with one of the funniest openings I’ve ever read. I got stuck there for a moment, just laughing.

There is so much happening here. At times my head was spinning from the intensity, but I enjoyed every moment. The plot, the character development, the banter, the humor (I haven’t laughed this much in a long time), the romance and love (so much love!!)… and yes, a lot of spicy spice 😈

Vale and Oliver already showed their magic together in book1 and they’re still the biggest part of it (hungriest and loudest too). But this time, their friends and family step in, uniting for what’s to come (although… some unite in their own ways). And it turns into one big, chaotic family, with their own secrets and truths, personalities that break every stereotype. Each of them is so different, making this story feel alive. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any crazier… it did.

There’s more magic, more worldbuilding and if you pay close enough attention, there are so many small details that connect beautifully in the end.

There are moments that are scary, moments that hurt, but what shines through the most is the kindness and the warmth that comes with love.
It’s not just smut and unicorns. There are darker themes underneath. But at its core, this story shows how the right people beside you can heal every wound and scar. And that healing part… that’s what spoke to me the loudest. Watching characters change, face their past, accept or let go… it touches so many layers of what it means to be human…

For your own safety, check the TWs, but also know this world plays by its own rules, where heaven and hell, angels and demons, vampires, intimacy, magic… everything feels a little different.

So, under that cover hides a lusty story full of thick, messy, wild, moany, loving chaos.

Thank you so much @DameRho for having me on this ARC team and letting me be part of this amazing journey!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review

Queen of Fire is an absolutely phenomenal sequel and somehow manages to expand the world of the Children of Asmodeus series in every possible way. Picking up immediately after the events of Prince of Lust, the story throws us straight back into the lives of Vale and Oliver and I was hooked from the very first page.

Vale and Oliver’s bond feels intense, emotional and beautifully consuming, but it quickly becomes clear that things are far more complicated than either of them expected.

Along with Vale and Oliver, we also have developing relationships between Lais and Nick and Kate and Duncan. And then there is Oz’s yearning for Lilith and her determination to keep him at arms length. The chapters between them were utterly heartbreaking.

One of my favourite things about this book is how rich and layered the worldbuilding has become. There is so much happening - new characters, long-awaited answers, deeper lore and plenty of groundwork being laid for future books, yet it never feels overwhelming. Every reveal feels purposeful.

Dame Rho’s writing is honestly stunning. Some passages read almost like poetry, lyrical, haunting and beautiful, while still balancing humour, spice, heartbreak and tension effortlessly. One moment I was emotional, the next I was laughing uncontrollably. The “singing dick” chapter genuinely had me in hysterics.

What really makes this series special though are the characters. Every single one feels layered and alive, like there are still hidden depths left to uncover. Even now, I don’t feel like we fully know everyone yet and that only makes me more invested in what’s coming next.

This book has everything: legend, angst, romance, sorrow, humour, spice and emotional depth wrapped up in an addictive supernatural world. I loved every second of it and I already cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Five. Full. Stars. No rounding needed here!

“Back in the day, there were two angels and a bad_ss, soulless _itch with long, gorgeous red hair.”

And just a few paragraphs later:

“Shh, don’t tell the writer lady I snuck back in. She’ll be pissed. We get into it every so often about how I need to be in every book, period, end of story.”

Honestly, the entire first section (not technically a chapter, not officially called a prologue) in Asmodeous’ POV is INCREDIBLE. Gods I love Asmodeus! He is fire. And heat. The embodiment of Lust. And probably one of the most complex characters you’ll find in a series this deliciously smutty.

This book knocks the first one out of the park (and I loved Loved LOVED that one)! We get so much more of Vale’s background (i.e. trauma from the horror that is her father). Her past. It’s almost as heartbreaking as Asmodeus’ unrequited love for Lilith.

But we also get to meet (finally) the freaking delightful best friend, Kat. Which leads to one of my (many) fav interchanges:

“…that’s why I’m asking if you’re a good witch. I don’t want to be turned into a frog. I don’t know if Oliver can overlook that.” (I love how Kat brings out the best in Vale!)

There’s also some subplot stuff happening that I think will be important in future books, so I wont give too much away. But let’s just say some other romances may be blooming? I’ll leave it to you to read.

This book literally has everything: legends/mythology, angst, romance, sorrow, humor, LOTS OF spice, emotional damage, and a supernatural world so addictive, I’d sell my only brain cell to live in it! I devoured this in one sitting and am already vibrating (innuendo intended) with anticipation for the next book!

I received an advance copy of this book from the author. My opinions are 100% my own.

Dame Rho’s second book in her Children of Asmodeus series is an absolute fast-paced thrill ride. The story picks up right where Prince of Lust left off, and one thing you need to know about Rho’s writing is that her characters lay it all out. There’s no slow-paced emo navel-gazing here. Important story details come at you rapid-fire, so pay attention.

The central love story between Vale and Oliver (and his inner demon, Ash) is just as scorching as it was in Book 1. These two redefine fated mates, and if you were wondering what supernatural bond tied this Lilu/vampire hybrid and the seemingly human Vale together, the hints from Book 1 finally begin to pay off. Vale is far more than she appears to be. No spoilers, but the title definitely hints at her evolution.

And then there’s Gramps and Oliver’s mother, Lais. Their friendship deepens in this installment, and I am completely here for it. They both deserve to bask in the sunlight of passion, and finally getting to see that unfold was incredibly satisfying.

But the couple I’m most emotionally invested in? Oz and Lilith. His devotion to her, despite her rejection of their bond, is brutal and heartbreaking in the best way. And that ending? Whew. I was genuinely teary-eyed when Lilith finally left the door open — just a crack — for the possibility that they might heal and find their way back to each other.

I absolutely cannot wait for the next book to see where this wild ride takes us next, and what trials Oliver and Vale will have to face together.

To be honest, I read this book a lot slower than I should have.

Why?

Because I wanted to savor every word.

After falling in love with Oliver, Vale and of course, Asmodeus in Prince of Lust, I was invested in the story and where it was going. And to say that Dame Rho didn’t disappoint is an understatement.

Queen of Fire is everything the first book was and SO much more.

From the first page to the last, it had me laughing, crying, biting my nails. The connection between Vale and Oliver and (spoiler… Ash, Oliver’s other half) is so intense. I absolutely loved the way Oliver treats Vale with so much love and adoration.

And Vale… the trauma she’s been through is heartbreaking. So watching her finally become the queen she is was beyond rewarding.

But…

My favorite character was, of course, Asmodeus! With lines like “I flash the drugs out of this world and into Hell, specifically to Lucy’s bedside to annoy him because it’s not just lust I live for. I do so love to annoy my brother,” that had me grinning like a fool.

But there’s more.

Along with Vale and Oliver, we also have relationships developing between Kate (who also has a secret she’s been hiding) and Duncan, and Lais and Nick (who has his own transformation).

And then there is Oz’ who can’t stop longing for Lilith, who won’t give him the time of day. Oomph!

Okay, so here’s the thing.

This book has it all.

Romance, childhood trauma, humor, sorrow, spice, lots and lots of spice. It’s a roller coaster of emotions and I want more!

5 Stars from me without a doubt!

Incredibly lucky to receive an Arc of Queen of Fire. Rho has done it again. This book really touched me, Prince of Lust was a wonderful introduction into the wonderful world in which Rho has created. Queen of Fire deepens the feelings you already have from reading POL. I love that we have been blessed with the history of these unique and incredible mythical beings. Oliver/Ash have my whole heart, I was utterly consumed by the story of how they 'split' and to then be together, in harmony, with Vale their mate, it is beautiful.
Vale, the absolute badass that she is has flourished and been reborn to the queen she was always meant to be. The way Rho writes and the visions it conjures in my head when reading is nothing short of spectacular. Vale is so vivid in my mind, it makes me a little teary to think about.
The introduction of new characters, the development of the characters is poignant.
I adore Oz, and I long to hear more from Lilith.
I am completely immersed in this world and can't wait to continue the journey in the next book. If you haven't already read, you must!

Little side note for the spice and subsequent lady puddles. It is hot, steamy, mind altering spice but and compliments the story (which is what really resonates) perfectly.

5 STARS
5 FOR SPICE.

Thank you Rho for allowing me to read this before it is out in the world for everyone else to enjoy!

⭐ ARC REVIEW — Queen of Fire (Children of Asmodeus #2)

Vale and Oliver are back… and somehow even more consuming than before. If book one burned, this one smolders—their love isn’t just intense anymore, it’s anchored. There’s a sense of inevitability to them now, like every version of their souls has always been pulling toward each other.

Speaking of which—this book really leans into their past lives vs. present lives, and I ate that up. The way their history bleeds into who they are now adds so much weight to every interaction. It’s not just romance—it’s fate, memory, and something almost tragic woven together.

And yes—Oz is BACK 👀 and brings chaos, tension, and just enough intrigue to keep you on edge whenever he’s on page.

The pacing builds steadily until that ending… and wow. That cliffhanger? Absolutely criminal. I finished the last page and just sat there like—that’s it?!

Overall, this sequel deepens everything: the romance, the lore, the emotional stakes. If you thought book one had you hooked, this one sinks the claws in deeper and refuses to let go.

⭐ Rating: 5 stars
🔥 Spice: still very much present
💔 Emotional damage: increasing

I was very lucky to receive an ARC of Queen of Fire, Book Two in the Children of Asmodeus series by the brilliant Dame Rho.
We pick up where we left off with Vale and Oliver in the small town of Silver Springs, Georgia. Things get moving quickly though as we dive deeper into the magical world, and you can tell this sequel will raise the stakes in every way!
There was so much character development in this book, and watching Vale come into her own is especially poignant. We also get more of my favourite side characters, like the heartwarming Gramps and feisty Kat.
Rho is the queen of lady puddles and the spice is excellently done and plentiful, and somehow manages to level up from the first book! If you thought you couldn’t love Oliver and Vale more, you’re wrong.
Between the intense emotional arcs and the humour (including a singing peen!) it was a super fun ride I didn’t want to end.
If you haven’t read Book One, Prince of Lust, I recommend you do, it is also a lust filled delight!

ARC Review

There’s an unsettling pulse beneath this story from the very beginning, a feeling that something bigger is waiting just out of sight. The connection between the two main characters feels magnetic, consuming, and impossible to ignore. 🖤

This book expands everything introduced in Prince of Lust, deepening the world, the relationships, and the emotional stakes. New characters are woven into the story beautifully, while familiar faces still manage to steal every scene they’re in. Oz especially remains an absolute standout.

Themes of grief, hope, family, identity, and rediscovery run through every chapter, alongside lingering mysteries and long-buried truths slowly coming to light.

A powerful continuation that feels emotional, immersive, and charged with the sense that even bigger things are still to come. 🌑

Queen of Fire was so far from anything I have ever read I was truly stunned by the author's take on the dynamic relationships between angels and demons. This story follows Vale (FMC) a mortal who is mated to a Immortal Vampire/Demon and their journey and trials of being together. With the help of their family and friends Vale discovers herself but first she must burn. Follow Vale and Oliver on this epic smutt-coma inducing story that will give you both tears and laughs. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves dark romances/paranormal romances/ trigger warnings and smutt.

Dame Rho has done it again with Queen of Fire, the second in her Children of Asmodeus series!

Rho doesn't just write a story; she crafts a world full of magic and intrigue, mystery and love. Vale and Oliver are even more amazing in this book than in the first. And the humor! I love everything about this series, and I cannot wait for the next. If you're looking for dark fantasy romance with monsters and gods, sweet and spicy love, out loud laughs and tears - this is absolutely the book for you!
