About the author

Jeremy Bernard Corbyn is an English politician who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington North since 1983. He currently sits as an independent, and is the interim leader of Your Party, which he cofounded with Zarah Sultana in July 2025. Corbyn had previously been a member of the Labour Party from 1965 until his expulsion in 2024, and served as Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Labour Party from 2015 to 2020 and was a member of the Socialist Campaign Group parliamentary caucus. He identifies ideologically as a socialist on the political left.

This is a tough, but vitally important, read. It describes the atrocities carried out in Gaza, and how the infrastructure - the healthcare system in particular - has been systematically destroyed. The eyewitness accounts of children being operated on without anaesthetic, and of children dying in agony due to a lack of pain relief, are horrifying. It outlines Britain's responsibilities to act when there is a plausible risk of genocide, and illustrates how successive governments have not only failed to act, but have been complicit, providing Israel with military hardware, training, and intelligence from surveillance flights.

An eye-opening and deeply unsettling read. The medical witness testimony in particular was harrowing. But what stayed with me most was how the book looks beyond Gaza, exposing how powerful states around the world have facilitated what is happening, often at the expense of international law and even the democratic principles they claim to champion. A must read.

Very much a must read for anyone that believes in justice and wants to see international law upheld.

We must be brave and face the truth about what has been done in our name, about what the Sunak and the Starmer government has made us complicit in.

I think that this is a 'must read' for everybody.
However the reader must remember that every day people are just people trying to live in peace, looking after thier families. It is various governments that are the problem, the israel political system, the british political system, etc.
I would hate for young pro-Palestine people to read this and think that all british people put the sale of arms before the lives of the palestine people, or that all Israeli people agree with the genocide.
It is just not so and that should be remembered when reading this book..
