What is it with these completely insane boys that I just can’t get enough of? I have no idea but sometimes the crazier they are the more I love them. Vincent is much crazier than his friend Nero. They are both on their way to becoming made men. Vincent is the player of the group. They all like their women, but Vincent, with his blue eyes and blonde hair brings them in like no other. And thats the way he likes it. He doesn’t have girlfriends or relationships. But his sister’s best friend, Lake, things are different with her. She brings out Vincent’s crazy like no other girl has.
I loved the dynamic of Vincent and Lake’s relationship. When Lake steps up and does something (stupid, yet heroic in a way) Vincent has her back. He claims her in his own way and makes sure she is safe and taken care of. I love when a hero can change like that. He still is who he is. He’s still a badass and still a bit insane, but he always makes sure Lake is okay. That she’s safe. He puts her first. He is protective of her.
Even though Lake’s choices weren't always the brightest, I really did get her. I got why she made those choices. She is loyal to a fault, strong and determined. She really is a challenge for Vincent and I liked that she didn’t cower to him. They were a great match. They butt heads and challenge each other, but it keeps things interesting.
This is a series you can’t take too seriously. I mean, just like Nero, this book is pretty unrealistic and a little over the top but enjoyed it so much. I am dying for the next book in this series. They are like my own little guilty pleasure reads. I can’t get enough. And please please please gimme some LUCCA. I love his psycho ass most of all and I can’t wait for his book. And also… Maria with that boy… yep. Need that too!

Much like the heroine in the first book, she hasn’t had it easy. She is tormented in a different way. She keeps her head up and stays strong, but Vincent sees it. And he cares enough to try to make things better for her.

sigh... I can't believe this but I'm giving it a 3 STARS.. and thats just mainly because I effing finished it... painfully!
I guess I was too hyped up.. I loved NERO so I expected too much in VINCENT too. I don't know.. seems like the whole thing was lacking of something.. sigh. The characters were okay.. Not a big fan of the heroine and Vincent.. well, I had high hopes in him, but for some reason he was not interesting as before. TBH both were so immature in this book, I felt like pulling my eyes out! They were both hot/cold, I like you/hate you, I want you/don't want you.. (it got so old, I was just over it!)
The story drag on and on it was a struggle to finish the book!
The situation with the heroine was quite unbelievable.. Here she is getting somewhat abused by her step dad and step sister...
The author was trying to make us readers feel sorry for the heroine.. but for the love of all..
The emotions was just not there.
I don't hate the book, I just didn't care for it! I'm prolly not making any sense here.. I'll come back to this and maybe I could explain more later on. :/
Anyways, still love the series and can't wait for LUCCA/CHLOE. I heard its going to be a love triangleish with AMO.. sigh.. I'm so over with love effing triangle! -__- I also found out that their story woult be a 2 parts book.. which I'm not a fan.. but oh well. >_<

I couldn't think it was possible to love Vincent more than Nero. But Yes I did...I did did did :D
Although this novel can be read as a standalone I recommend starting with the first book in the series and then work your way to this one. It will be worth it ;)
Once I picked up this book I couldn't put it down...and that's how (despite the fact that I have a 1 year old son that demands a lot of attention :P) I was able to finish it in one day...it was that addictive :D
Vincent is a made men, the son of the third most powerful man in the family, his best friend the son of the Boss and he lives to serve the family.
Lake is a simple girl that goes to public school, her best friend is Vincent's sister, her father is a family man that can never become a made men, she dreams of going to college as far as she can get and has a little Cinderella spinoff story going on.
Apparently they each have their own way but after the night that Vincent catches Lake and his sister at a club dancing he starts seeing Lake in another light and wants from her what he know he can't have because mafia daughters don't date until they're 18 and they don't have sex until they are married.
Lake can't stop thinking about him after that same night when he takes her first kiss. What she knows for sure is that she doesn't want to be just another woman to Vincent.
Things don't go as planned and instead of going to college Lake ends up having to keep her father alive by giving all her tuition money to the Boss and agreeing to work as a waitress in the underground casino to pay for her fathers debt. Oh...and did I mention that the waitress uniform is actually a very sexy lingerie? :P
What do you think Vincent does when he finds out? Yes...he goes apeshit and decided he's going to make Lake his :D
Why did I love this book so much?
Well you know I'm a sucker for mafia novels so there's one reason. The second one was that I love a book with a strong female character and Lake despite the shity hand that life has dealt her is very strong and she get right back up after each blow. I mean...you got to have some balls to storm into the Boss's office without being called before...and twice no less :P
And of course...one more reason that doesn't need any more explaining....Vincent :D
But there was one thing that I did not like (but not big enough to downgrade this book to a 4 star). That was the fact that the book felt finished after 75% and I felt like the last part was added just to make the book longer. It was interesting and I know that it had some parts that set the path for the next book but the author could have made it into a novella instead of prolonging this one.
One thing I have to ask the author...please don't make us wait very long for the next book and PLEASE let it be Lucca's story!!!

When I read the first book in this series (Nero), I liked it despite some issues with how over the top the actions were of some of the characters and despite the violence of the hero and his friends. It was also hard for me to believe the heroine could have been bullied and abused to the point of broken bones and her parents didn't notice. Despite these issues, I liked the main characters and enjoyed them getting together.
Unfortunately, I had way more issues with the way Vincent was written and didn't enjoy the main characters either. The over the top writing style got even worse in this book until it was completely unbelievable. I guess this author's heroines always have to be abused by someone, so the heroine every weekend goes to her mom and her step-father's house where she is (I shit you not) made to clean the house while they call her trailer trash and they don't let her eat and make her sleep in the attic. Are you playing a sad little fiddle for her too? Step daddy invents reasons for her mom to leave the house, apparently the whole time she is there then yells at her and somehow makes her clean until she drops. I just don't know where to start with how dumb this plot point was. The heroine could have stopped this at any point by just not going to see her mom - but she doesn't. Her dad is in the freaking mob and supposedly never notices anything wrong. She supposedly doesn't say anything to anyone because she is afraid they will kill her mom. None of this makes sense.
The whole story just kind of jumps around, the heroine pulls some very dumb TSTL moments like going to see a mob boss twice, the second time was so idiotic for me because she had been told he will kill her if she does it again and then she does it for a dumb reason. The girl is just not smart.
I didn't feel the same connection between Vincent and Lake as I did between Nero and Elle, at least with Nero when he got to know Elle she was it for him. It was hard to see why Vincent wanted Lake so much when he didn't care about her for months after their first kiss.
Basically I feel the author has some talent but needs to seriously tone down the over the top and unbelievable actions of her characters. She also needs to work on her characterizations and add more depth to the people she creates in her stories. I will give her another chance despite this book, I think she can do better.

So, i finally finished Vincent, Nero's best friend!!! And all i can say is that was freaking awesome!!!!
Different from Nero but in a good way... but with much darkness inside... I think!!!!
Hmmm.... I have mixed feelings about that book...
but i'm not the only one who was having comfused feelings through that story...
Lake and Vincent was also at the same situation as me...
Well, i went through an unstability....
I felt very sorry about Lake's fate in the beggining, but near to the end i turned out to be sorry for Vincent's sake...
And I was angry with Vincent beacause he was a kind of jackass firstly, but finally i felt furious about Lake's constantly running away and the way she was leading herself all the time to get involve in bad situations...
You see??? Mixed feelings for this two.... They were driving me crazy for time to time....
I'm comfusing you, ugh??? Sorry, but i can't help it!!!!!
That book was also intense and it was having a really big story with twists that mostly leaded me in shock situations!!!!

The first time we saw Lake was in "Nero". She and her best friend Adelyn was in a club for dancing, when Vincent marked her... Unfortunately, after few moments, he realised that she was her stepsister's best friend... But that fact sealed their fates....
Lake had a hard life.... Her father is a soldier in Caruso's mafia, but he's not a made men... so their situation are not so good as the other's families... They are not having much money and they are living in a small house... And since her mother left them, her father was having gabling problems...
Well, her life is bareable until the weekends...
Then she has to spend her time with her mother and her new family... Don't get me wrong, she love her mother and she seems to love her back, but when she is not around her stepfather and his daughter turned her life in a fuckin' torture... I can't tell you all the things that they done to her, but they really pissed me off!!!
So, as you can see, the only thing that Lake wants most in her life is to run away as far as she can and that she'll manage to earn it when she'll go to college...
And in this shitty "cake", Vincent added on the top as a cherry.... and the things are not good...
But when she's about to smell her freedom, something bad happened... Her father made a shitty move and everything collapsed around her...
For saving her father, she will have to drop everything that ever wanted... To be away from this fucking life and far away for all this mobster stuff... But now she had to pay the debt to mafia and she will make it in a weird way that shocked me a little bit!!!!
Vincent is a comfusing guy!!!!
He is in a constantly fight with the dark and the bright side inside of him!!!! He enjoys the fact that he is a member of the mafia and that he will become a made men... It is in his nature... He was born to become one of them... He enjoys to cause pain and he really likes to fuck all kind of women... Until Lake step into his life, but even then, he is refusing to admit that he has feelings for her.... So that brings a whole shitty, comfused situation....
Until he learns about the debt and that turns everything upside down for both of them...
The thing between them is intense but the two sides inside Vincent frighten Lake... a lot!!! So she is constantly running away from him, but he always bring her back...
Don't get me wrong!!! She like that very much, but she keep doing it... And that made me so much furious... Believe me when i'm saying that in the beginning i was by her side all the time, but near to the end i hated that she wasn't made a fuckin' decision what she really wants and i couldn't take it anymore that she made Vincent unsure and desperate man...
Well, i liked and this story very much and i liked the fact that we are seeing and the rest of the guys also... especially that for once again we were having some glimpses of Lucca and Chloe... and Amo...
Sarah, you have forced me in a crazy situation... I am so desperate for that story...
I liked that crazy bastard, Lucca... And i am so curious about Chloe and her phobias and her scars....
I really liked that the girls became all of them friends... Especially, when Lake drifted Elle to make their men mad... and also i liked the fact that they were unable to make a decision about who they were prefer for Chloe...
Team Amo or team Lucca??? Girls, i'm definetely team Lucca...

The first time we saw Lake was in "Nero". She and her best friend Adelyn was in a club for dancing, when Vincent marked her... Unfortunately, after few moments, he realised that she was her stepsister's best friend... But that fact sealed their fates....
Lake had a hard life.... Her father is a soldier in Caruso's mafia, but he's not a made men... so their situation are not so good as the other's families... They are not having much money and they are living in a small house... And since her mother left them, her father was having gabling problems...
Well, her life is bareable until the weekends...
Then she has to spend her time with her mother and her new family... Don't get me wrong, she love her mother and she seems to love her back, but when she is not around her stepfather and his daughter turned her life in a fuckin' torture... I can't tell you all the things that they done to her, but they really pissed me off!!!
So, as you can see, the only thing that Lake wants most in her life is to run away as far as she can and that she'll manage to earn it when she'll go to college...
And in this shitty "cake", Vincent added on the top as a cherry.... and the things are not good...
But when she's about to smell her freedom, something bad happened... Her father made a shitty move and everything collapsed around her...
For saving her father, she will have to drop everything that ever wanted... To be away from this fucking life and far away for all this mobster stuff... But now she had to pay the debt to mafia and she will make it in a weird way that shocked me a little bit!!!!
Vincent is a comfusing guy!!!!
He is in a constantly fight with the dark and the bright side inside of him!!!! He enjoys the fact that he is a member of the mafia and that he will become a made men... It is in his nature... He was born to become one of them... He enjoys to cause pain and he really likes to fuck all kind of women... Until Lake step into his life, but even then, he is refusing to admit that he has feelings for her.... So that brings a whole shitty, comfused situation....
Until he learns about the debt and that turns everything upside down for both of them...
The thing between them is intense but the two sides inside Vincent frighten Lake... a lot!!! So she is constantly running away from him, but he always bring her back...
Don't get me wrong!!! She like that very much, but she keep doing it... And that made me so much furious... Believe me when i'm saying that in the beginning i was by her side all the time, but near to the end i hated that she wasn't made a fuckin' decision what she really wants and i couldn't take it anymore that she made Vincent unsure and desperate man...
Well, i liked and this story very much and i liked the fact that we are seeing and the rest of the guys also... especially that for once again we were having some glimpses of Lucca and Chloe... and Amo...
Sarah, you have forced me in a crazy situation... I am so desperate for that story...
I liked that crazy bastard, Lucca... And i am so curious about Chloe and her phobias and her scars....
I really liked that the girls became all of them friends... Especially, when Lake drifted Elle to make their men mad... and also i liked the fact that they were unable to make a decision about who they were prefer for Chloe...

I wanted Lucca next because I assumed Chloe will be paired with him.. I must know her secrets.

Excuse me whilst I sip my tea and enjoy the last few bits of this book in my memory.
Was it memorable? No sir.
Was it excellent? No sir.
Was it beautifully written? Not sir.
Why did I give this 4 stars? I have no fucking clue.
It was kinda annoying at the beginning. Third person POV is not my favorite and the coming and going from different people's POV with no warning was no fun. But, same as with the last one, I grew used to it and didn't bother me by 60%.
And I liked the MCs, the heroine was sassy, Vincent thought he had to break her in order for her to love him, but I think what he had to do is just give her the choice. The big bad wolf, named Vincent, was actually kind of cute. So, all in all. Good choice.
I must say this high-school themed mafia could have been avoided just giving them jobs, but I did see the character development or maybe I grew immune to their temper tantrums. Who knows.
Anyway, I ended up loving them both and I have no regrets for wasting my day away reading this. So there's that. Four stars for Cutie handsome Vincent and yOu'Re noT lIKe oThEr gIRls Lake.

What the fuck did i just read?!
i'm stunned by the fact that this was as bad as the first book was awesome...and I'm thinking, Jeez, maybe i'm in a f*cking twilight zone...
the characters...my God, if there weren't any of the secondary cast in it (from the first book), I would have DNF it, for sure...
Vincent, i liked you in the first book, I don't like you anymore!
Lake, f*ck, no words for you...you don't get to have any words from me!!!
the story...WHAT story?! WTF?! half of the time I was trying to make sense of it, other people in it were like puppets, stupid puppets...so one dimensional and superficial, stupid...
and now I have a headache...
I'm worried...
I really hope for the third book to be about Lucca, but if it's gonna go on the same path as this one...i'm gonna flip!!!!
and probably do this...
so, the next one BETTER be good!!!

I loved the first book about Nero, I gave it five stars. This one was such a disappointment. My biggest issue was Lake, the h. She was such a doormat. She could never make up her mind. One minute she was all 'I hate Vincent coz he stole my first kiss then told me it was a huge mistake so I wont give him the time of day', but as soon as she saw him or if he gave her the slightest indication of interest she turned into a horny idiot. She had no pride. If a guy clearly only wants her for sex and thinks even that would be a mistake she should have enough pride and self respect not to allow him to flirt with her or constantly call him a god or moan about his good looks. She was so in awe of someone like him wanting her. Around 45% she caught him making out with someone with the intention of having sex and the same night she let him sleep with her in her bed. She gave in too easily. Elle in the first book was so strong, she had enough self respect not to immediately give in to Nero because he didn't stop the bullying when he could. It wasn't until 50% of the book was over that Vincent even decided to go after her.
Also how did he and his sister, Adelyn (h's BF) never notice the abuse she went through. Were they completely blind. Adelyn knew how horrible the stepsister was to the h but she never told anyone or try to put a stop to it. She was an awful friend. When lake is paying off her fathers debt in a club and doesn't take the bf's calls or messages doesn't she find that odd or suspect that the h might be in trouble. She never went to her house to check up on her or find out what was wrong. If your bf doesn't contact you for a month shouldn't you be worried?
Now I know we are suppose to feel sorry for the h because of her stepfather and sister torturing her but that situation was so ridiculous. The reason given for her keeping quiet about it were so stupid. She didn't want her dad or the mafia to know coz then they would kill her mother, but she could have told her mother!! Then if her mother loved her she would have left him quietly without letting the reason for it getting known and if not Lake would know her true colours and then she wouldn't have to feel guilty about not living with her. Either ways she would be free from living with them and could stay with her dad.
Furthermore, I get that the stepfather and sister liked torturing her but to go to such lengths just to get their house clean? Seriously?? Ever heard of hiring a cleaning service? When they trick her into coming back to the house her mom is like 'sorry honey I can't get the house clean right.' Really?? It felt so forced. It felt like the author wanted us to see the h as a victim and couldn't think of a better situation. In the first book the bullying happened at school and in the second at home. Plus it was so dumb of her to go back to the house without telling anyone only because her mom said the mafia would kill the stepfather, so of course Lake believed that to be true because thinking for her self and using her brain is too much to ask.
Lake didn't have a mind of her own at all. She kept on moaning about wanting nothing to do with the mafia and how she wanted to get away. But when she finally did get away all Vincent had to do was say I love you and she came back without an argument at which point she wasn't even sure she loved him. What...so her mind changed overnight and it is never addressed how or when this happened. I never understood why all of a sudden it was okay to be with the mafia. I really hope it wasn't because Vincent offered to pay some of her college tuition fee.
I didn't like Vincent either. Nero after kissing Elle was all for her but Vincent kept denying wanting to have anything to do with her upto the 50% mark. Nero was so gentle and caring about Elle but I didn't see as much of that in Vincent. Nero made their first night so meaningful but with Vincent it seemed like he was just horny and and tired of waiting. There was nothing special about their first night.I loved that Nero MADE himself worthy of Elle before they had sex. Vincent didn't need to make himself worthy because Lake was so hurt that Vincent won't kiss her that when she found out he was gonna have sex with her, she was overjoyed.
Last but certainly not the least, the part where Vincent and Nero see Elle and Lake dirty dancing, they both say to each other 'lets watch and not stop them' even though other guys were watching them. They start fantasising about the two girls together. It was so sick and disgusting!!! It not only ruined this book for me but it also completely destroyed a couple I loved very much!! and this happened around the 70% mark. I can't say for Vincent but it was so uncharacteristic of Nero to think like that.I hate it when the author wants us to believe that the hero is jealous and possessive and yet allows voyeurism of some kind. Its the reason I didn't like Shade's Fall by Jamie Begley so much.
I'm going to go and try to find a book that'll hopefully bleach this from my mind.

Vincent is the second story in the Made Men Series. I haven’t read the first book, but after this one it’s on my list. Vincent is insane and over the top, but there is something about him that you just can’t help but love. Vincent is a very popular with the ladies and isn’t shy about it. He enjoys them, so no one is more shocked by his possessive behavior one night a club than him when he see’s his sister’s best friend with another guy.
“You go on another date again, I’ll chop his hand off. You fuck someone, and I’ll chop his dick off. And, if I catch you dancing and looking like that again, sweetheart, your days of being a virgin are over. Understood?”
Lake is something else entirely and when we first met her I loved her strong attitude, but she immediately seemed like a contradiction. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as her background and family life began to unfold my heart broke for her. I hated her situation and was so frustrated with her options. So when Lake put herself on the line and decided to help out, I was able to understand her decision. Lake's life isn't all sunshine and happiness, I felt like she did the only thing she thought she could.
When we first meet Vincent and Lake it’s obvious they exist in two very different worlds, but when their worlds collided I loved how Vincent was eager to take care of Lake. That is when Vincent moved from just another sexy womanizer to a great man. I love seeing characters progress, grow and change for that one girl.
Lake had never felt like she belonged more than she did in that moment with Vincent as he placed a light kiss on her shoulder.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Vincent and Lake, it’s hot and over top but hey I like a little crazy in my books. As the series suggests, this story takes place in a mafia type world. Is it the most realistic story? I can’t really tell as I have only been exposed to the fictitious side, regardless it was a highly enjoyable read with plenty of hot moments. More than that it had lots of heart.
After jumping into Vincent I can’t wait to read go back and read Nero’s story. I also can’t wait to see what else comes of these Made Men.

Mafia manwhore Vincent, who f***s every girl/woman/hole he can get his hands on, has feelings for his sister's friend Lake, tells Lake he'll mutilate any guy she has contact with, and keeps on trucking, I mean "f**king. Including the very night he gives Lake her first kiss...making sure the girl comes over to the house that Lake is also in, so Lake sees the girl leaving and knows he went from kissing Lake to sleeping with a girl in the same house. He threatens Lake with cutting off the hand and male member of any guy she has any contact with. then promptly puts Lake out of his mind, moves on to sleep with tons of other girls while leaving Lake alone to suffer more abuse, but Vincent is complacent because she's on ice for dating any other guy. (Are these mafia princess rules where the girls stay virginal til marriage while the guy sleep with everything that moves still real? Or is this the 1950s mafia?). Anyway, Lake isn't mafia so why do the mafia princess rules apply to her? Then Lake is forced to wear slutty clothes while waitressing for the mafia (which would never happen to a mafia princess to whom the chastity "rules" apply). Lake is all vulnerable and victimy from her crazy stepfather, and Vincent decides to be all protective and falls in love. Vincent actually becomes pretty protective and loving. Crazy, but loving.
Could have been a 4 but a few things dragged it down. I guess it would have been hard to compare to Nero, which was so original and had a special love develop. I did love revisiting the cast of Nero and feel the Chloe/Lucca/Amo story was "kept percolating" even if it didn't really advance much. there was similarity to Nero...damaged girls and heroine's self-sacrificing heroism. It just seemed repetitive and formulaic (abused girls who sacrifice themselves are worthy of love, all other girls are meat). Nero was a tough guy, but somehow a little less psychotic than Vincent...I wasn't left sure that Vincent would never turn on Lake or his own kids.
There were some very jarring things that felt like caricatures and made it hard to stay the story.
1) I found Dante and his free plans to kill a girl just for seeking to talk to him about her dad's debt (which she is paying!) to be a bit OTT. I get it, he's the boss. But why kill someone for trying to save her father and making payment?
2) it made no sense that creepy David, who is important enough to Dante that he insists Lake stay down in the club to serve for another month, can be killed just for hitting on a waitress, without repercussions. It would make sense if THAT were something Dante would kill for. But zero consequence.
3) the graduation was so stupid...all the mothers cheering a teenage boy they slept with in front of their husbands and kids? Really ridiculous. I was laughing out loud, AT the author. It gave the sense that the book was written by a teenager. Maybe that is true and I just judge it as tween fanfiction.
4) the biker drop in felt like product placement. Really stupid and irrelevant...it went nowhere. And crass.
5) the cover...what can I say, the guy just isn't so hot. Why are all these women sleeping with him?
6) Lake gives up her future to be owned by her benevolent master who will control her comings and goings...she will be a slave for life and is consigning her children to a life in hell, a life she abhors. The problem with these books is that these women will run to save their children...they will not want this for their kids. Or else they are no better than Lake's mother, sacrificing their children for their own pleasure.
7) she agrees to no condom from the get go because she's on birth control. I get that he knows SHE'S clean but he sleeps with EVERYTHING that moves, condoms aren't reliable and he has lots of oral without condoms, including from prostitutes. She wants to stay alive but lets him have sex without a condom? Crazy! Riskier than storming into the godfather's office!

Sadly I didnt enjoy this book much. I really liked Nero so I was looking forward to reading this one.. But I felt disappointed.
First I don't get how Vincent and Lake just fell for each other basically after one night! It was as tho Vincent needed her based solely on her ass! They had known each other before as Lake was best friends with Vincent's sister but there was no mention of ongoing feelings. Their whole relationship felt like it was just based on looks alone even later when Vincent says he loves Lake - it kinda came outta nowhere.
Lake annoyed me with her wishy/washy thoughts.. Literally one second she wants to jump Vincent the next shes annoyed at him.. She basically thought with her vag then anything else.. In one scene she sees Vincent getting head from another waitress and not soon after she wants him! He was let off wayy to easily for my liking.. Would have been nice to see him grovel abit and for her to think with her head and not her vag all the time!
Her confronting the mob boss TWICE but afraid to say something to her step father and sister just did not fit!!
I have to say I absolutely love Chloe and sooo wish her book isnt a love triangle which it seems like it is going to be :( having said that if it is a love triangle. I really hope theres no cheating or that shes with both guys, which would not fit her character at all! Also, I'm team Lucca! Something about his craziness that makes me want to read about him asap!!
Sadly I didnt enjoy this book much. I really liked Nero so I was looking forward to reading this one.. But I felt disappointed.
First I don't get how Vincent and Lake just fell for each other basically after one night! It was as tho Vincent needed her based solely on her ass! They had known each other before as Lake was best friends with Vincent's sister but there was no mention of ongoing feelings. Their whole relationship felt like it was just based on looks alone even later when Vincent says he loves Lake - it kinda came outta nowhere.
Lake annoyed me with her wishy/washy thoughts.. Literally one second she wants to jump Vincent the next shes annoyed at him.. She basically thought with her vag then anything else.. In one scene she sees Vincent getting head from another waitress and not soon after she wants him! He was let off wayy to easily for my liking.. Would have been nice to see him grovel abit and for her to think with her head and not her vag all the time!
Her confronting the mob boss TWICE but afraid to say something to her step father and sister just did not fit!!

Overall Opinion: This was ok. It has been a while since I read the first book, Nero, so I don't remember all of that book. I think this one might be the same for me. I enjoyed it, it won't go on my favorites shelf, and I'll probably forget it. I will say that I am looking forward to Lucca getting a story...and I don't want him with Chloe...I think he needs someone that's a badas$ mafia princess like Maria (obviously not her -- but I LOVE her!) to give him a run for his money! I keep thinking of him in a Ruthless People type scenario ;)
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Lake and Vincent's story. They've known each other for years because Lake is best friends with Vincent's step-sister, and their fathers work together in the mob. They've never crossed the line until one night seeing each other in a different light at a nightclub. There are some major changes in how they see and feel about each other and they end up forming a close friendship while their feelings grow. They deal with constant mob and family drama, have some sexy times, fall in love, and get a HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between mainly focusing on Lake and Vincent in 3rd person narrative with some parts focusing on side characters.
Overall Pace of Story: Good until the abrupt ending. I never skimmed.
Instalove: No. They've known eachother for a long time before the story, so the feelings took a while to change.
H rating: 3 stars. Vincent. I didn't like how he continued whoring around after kissing the h, and how he was in denial about his feelings for her for a long time. I did appreciate how he went all in once he did realize it, and he was the first to say "I love you" too.
h rating: 3 stars. Lake. She was fun and sassy with the H, but I really wanted her to grow a backbone with her family!
Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

This was predictable and little bit disappointing....
Vincent, I didn't like him so much and this wasn't helped by the fact that he continued to be manwhore, who f***s every woman he could get his hands on. Lake was kind of stupid. TSTL moments kind of stupid. I can't wait for Lucca he is fascinating! I hate love triangles so really hoping it's just Lucca and Chloe.

OMG. Freaking awesome!!!!
WHY!? WHHHHHHYYYYYYY!!!!! Why did that have to end!? *sniff* Every time I find a book I love, it ends before I’m ready to let go. I think all of Sarah Brianne’s books need to be 1000 pages long. Maybe then they’ll be long enough for me!
I hate writing reviews like this. The book was so awesome that there’s no way my review will ever do it justice. With that said There will be some slight spoilers because in order for me to talk about all the goodness that was this book, I need to talk about certain events. To skip over the events would be the equivalent of Nero and Vincent not seeking vengeance on behalf of their woman.
Vincent was freaking AWESOME!!!! Did I love it more than Nero? No. And here’s why: Nero is pure perfection. He’s my one true love. However, with that said, Vincent gave Nero a run for his money. He was beyond amazing and I’m more than proud to claim him as a book boyfriend! I can honestly say that every time I picked up my kindle to read some of Vincent, I was giddy. The same feeling reading Nero brings out in me (hmmm…what does that say about me?). I just wish I had been able to sit, uninterrupted and immerse myself in Vincent the way I did with Nero…stupid interruptions. :|
All Lake wants is to get out of Kansas City and be free from her mom's husband and her dad's employer: the mob. So she plans to leave everything holding her to the city and start over. But that wasn't meant to be. Events with her dad forced her hand and she had to stay in town. I have to say that her circumstances were...kind of amusing. Especially when Vincent got involved due to Lucca's meddling.
I was surprised that Lake was able to hide the abuse her stepfamily threw at her for so long. And let me just say, her mom was horrible. I don’t know she was able to turn a blind eye to what her husband and stepdaughter were doing but she deserved to go a round with Sadie while Vincent spent some time with John and Ashley. And when she set Lake up near the end…well…let’s just say that Vincent was too merciful on her. She deserved a more painful experience. I have to say that I love that Maria gets in on the act when it comes to vengeance in these books. I loved her taking part in it against that bitch Ashley.
As with the previous book, I’m extremely intrigued by Lucca. I want to know what’s going on behind that scary façade. I’m also very torn about the apparent triangle between Amo, Chloe and Lucca. On one hand, I’m definitely on Team Amo. But on the other…there’s something strong between Lucca and Chloe. I think either guy would be great with her, each bringing something totally different to the table. And speaking of Chloe, I’m dying to find out what secrets she’s still hiding. I loved getting to know Amo a little better in this book. It definitely makes me want his book sooner rather than later. Well, actually, I want all the books sooner rather than later.
I’m in deeply in awe of Sarah Brianne’s talent. She is definitely my favorite author. She knows how to write some awesome alpha guys that aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and distribute some vengeance in the name of their women. My only complaint…she doesn’t write fast enough! I’m dying to find out who Chloe ends up with, and I would love a book for Maria! (I’m seriously hoping that the scene at the graduation is setting up a story for her!)
This is definitely a must read book!

HOW CAN A BOOK BE SO BAD AND YET SO GOOD?!
Sarah Brianne is a fucking witch. I don't know how she does it but her books are so unrealistic, even I can see how stupid some stuff are sometimes, and yet I love love love them. I want more. Even if the stories are always unbelievable, I cannot stop and I will not and I assume it! This is too good.
Nineteen year old guys who fight like gods, kill like it's nothing out of the ordinary, who have their own fucking penthouse.......I know what you think.......and yet......I don't give a fuck.......because I love those made men.
Eighteen year old girls who are bullied beyond everything you can imagine........but nobody does a thing........because nobody seem to realize what's happening..........and I spare you the details........but who cares if it's crazy unreal?........not me!......because those books are hot and awesome and I'm a fan.

I adored the first book. The characters and their world have stayed with me since then. I love the made men! However, this was not the sequel I wanted. Vincent was not a likable character because he was such a disgusting man-whore. It was really gross. Plus, I never understood his abrupt attraction to the h after being such a jerk. The h would claim to be scared of him but kept saying how much she hated him. What was the deal with Vincent being described as psycho? He was never like that, at most he was an a-hole. Moreover, the h was awful. She lusted after a guy that treated her with annoyance and disdain. Even the other made men constantly complained about her. The h's situation with her mother was so ridiculous and the villains were too OTT. Having her dress like a stripper was completely unnecessary and I did not like this direction of the story. The male characters kept talking about her butt which was not cute. The h's nonreaction to what happened to her mother and stepfather was a missed opportunity for the author to explore. Furthermore, I want this author to stop writing such catty female characters. There was a scene with the h and Elle dancing with each other while their boyfriends were turned on. I really hated this scene because I like when the H only has eyes for the h not enjoying envisioning her with another girl.
My favorite parts of this book was Lucca. I savored every scene with him and had a smile on my face the whole time. I can see that he is a big softie that actually plays cupid. Although I am seriously turned off by his chain smoking. The character Maria met in the beginning had me so intrigued. I will be continuing this series and hope the next one is better.

Wow Lucca!!!The man is hot and scary and this book wasn't even about him,lol. We get enough glimpses of him to make one fall in love with the terrifying man.
