I've been on a journey of reading new genres in Christian fiction, and I'm a sucker for a series. I just finished reading all three books in the Hope Beach series.

@colleencoble is known for her coastal romantic suspense novels, and all three kept me on the edge of my seat.

Any of these can be read as a stand-alone, but it's fun to see characters I "met" in the first book appear in the other two.

The first book in the series, Tidewater Inn, had a thread of family drama I could relate to while sucking me into the mystery of the kidnapping of the main character's friend.

In the second book, Rosemary Cottage, I joined Amy in trying to find closure around her brother's death. I love how special her cottage is to her. That's how I feel about my lake house. ;-)

In the final book, Seagrass Pier, I suspended disbelief when a donor-recipient of a heart got her heart and memories, too. It became an interesting source of angst, conflict, and progress toward solving several murders.

It was fun to add suspense to my reading list. I recommend any of the books in this series.

Why do the men order for the women when they're out to dinner...? And, yeah, God is important to me but the "What would Jesus Do?" moments were too common and cliche. Nothing was challenging me to think about my faith and the storyline.

I have to give it credit because I really wanted to know what happened at the end of the story, but I just couldn't get past the "sexual tension" and the "theirs a mysterious stranger out to get me" reflections of the characters.

I did not finish these books.

Four stars for book one. Three stars for the next two. I liked the main characters a lot, but the storylines of the second two, especially, suffered from lack of character development and believability. I really wasn’t too sure I liked the romance in the third one until about 3/4 through. The addition of secondary characters’ storylines was a nice touch, but it wasn’t developed well enough and felt quite sudden whenever one of them made a decision.

The Hope Beach trilogy is a fine example of Romantic Suspense novels

The Hope Beach trilogy is a fine example of Romantic Suspense novels which hold your interest, has believable characters and keeps you guessing until the end. These books have no long explicit sex scenes - a plus for me. I will read more of this author's books.

Hope, Faith and Love at Hope Beach

Tidewater Inn, Rosemary Cottage and Seagrass Pier all embody hope for the future, faith that God will see them through and the potential for the love (or loss thereof) of a lifetime. Definitely worth the reading.

I really enjoyed this historical novel. It brought the women to life for me and made the Bible come to life. Often the cultural difference from back in the Biblical times is hard to understand. This made the women personable and the stories made more sense to me.

Great series but could be read as a stand alone.

Really good mystery with romance as a bonus. Left me on the edge of my seat most of the way.

I truly loved this series and how the stories were woven together. The mystery of each book drew me in from the very beginning and I related to the characters and their lives. The endings were always very suspenseful and yet surprising too. I would read these books again!!

Engaging storylines!

These were intriguing suspense romances that showed God's influence on the characters. Very refreshing! I couldn't wait to finish them, yet sad they are done...
