I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review so here we go.

When I first started reading the story I was a little confused as to who the main character was and where the story took place. Not because of the large cast of characters (some named some not) but because we simply never get his name. The longer I read I started to realize that was on purpose. Hence the title of the book. "The love Life of 'Some Guy'" The Story itself reads almost like we are reading a journal of our main characters life, skipping around here and there. He doesn't go into a lot of details about some things, but the things he finds important get expanded upon. Like conversations, or how he feels about himself at certain times.

The more I read about his life it felt like I was getting to know more about what made him who he was as a person. The mental struggles he had, his self image ect. It was interesting, like listening to a friend tell you gossip, but about themself.

You got to see him grow and see how his mind changed and matured over the course of about 20 years or so. And honestly I felt proud of him at the end of the story.

I wouldn't classify this as a romance story, but a love story. Learning to love others in different ways, family, friends and yourself.

All in all I did enjoy his story and I suggest giving it a read yourself, but I did have to give it 3- 3.5 stars because there were enough typos/ grammatical errors that I found a bit distracting while reading and there were times when sentences got repetitive, Especially near the end when talking about the surgeries (What kind? no clue we are never told)

This felt very much like stepping through snapshots of someone’s life rather than reading a traditional plot-driven story, and I think that approach will really work for a lot of readers. The writing has an intimate, conversational quality to it that makes you feel close to the main character and his internal struggles, especially when it comes to identity, relationships, self-worth, and personal growth over time.

I also appreciated that the story wasn’t trying to be a conventional romance. It explores different forms of love and connection, and there’s something genuinely sincere at the center of it. By the end, it felt like watching someone slowly come into their own over the course of many years.

I found it to be an emotional and thoughtful read with a perspective that felt personal and honest. I think readers who enjoy character-focused stories and reflective narration will find a lot to connect with here.
