I don't know if I should rate this a 3-star or a 2-star. There were some good parts but some, not so.
The story was about Trent (bear shifter), 34 and Olive (human), 26.
Trent and his two brothers, Travis (book1 H) and Tyler (book2 H) own a construction company. His life changed four years ago and he became grouchy. He also hates women. Doesn't trust them.
Olive loves to cook but six months ago, she quit her job as head chef in one of her father's restaurants, packed her belongings and left their home. She broke up with her ex-boyfriend, Charles. Her father gave her an ultimatum, marry Charles or leave with nothing so she left.
Travis and Tyler placed an ad for mail-order bride for their oldest brother, Trent. Olive saw the ad and responded to it. Trent didn't know about it. They told him at the same day of Olive's arrival.
He was mean to her when they met. He hurt her on purpose. He realized his mistake after she left and wanted to correct it so he went to her hotel room, and apologized to her. He asked for a chance to show her he wanted her.
The story was HFN. Trent's not the usual OTT alpha males that I like. Even his brothers. I want heroes who are possessive. Maybe it's not enough for me.

A little disappointed but still an ok quick read. Trent had every reason to not trust women. One of the worst things I have ever heard! Olive was very forgiving because their initial meeting was not pleasant. But Trent mans up - quick. And he is very sweet to her. I was disappointed in how he handled her ex though. I wanted more grizzly retribution! We got very little of Olive but I liked her.

I know I said this about the others but Trent is most definitely my favorite. It was sweet and fast. I really enjoyed his story.

This book was my favorite so far of the series
I think I liked it best because they both had teams in their lives and sharing that with each other helped their bond and connection. I did not agree with letting the ex go. He should have been arrested at the very least because he not only tried to kidnap her with a gun, he also physically hurt her. He deserved jail time at least along with the threat. I want to know what kind of place she decided to change the diner into so that was kind of a bummer to not find out. I also would like to know how the ex found her. Her father really needs lessons in manners.

Olive and Trent
Slightly better than the previous two.
Trent has been through a lot after the betrayal of his fiance and he is living with the scars physically and mentally after four years.
He is shocked and enraged when his brothers and their wives find him a bride. He wastes no time on scaring her away before he calmed down and realised he made a mistake. He runs after her not knowing his life's was about yo change forever.
Slightly better than the previous two.

"Bear Seeking Bride: Trent" Bear Canyon Bears #3 by author Ruby Shae
My Rating: 3 Stars...
Book three in this series gives us the story of oldest Mallory brother, Trent and Olive Campbell.
Grumpy grizzly bear shifter Trent Mallory does not believe in love, does not believe in happily ever after for good reasons. He did once and it ended very badly. (you'll have to read the book to find out why) Trent's two younger brothers may have found their mates but that doesn't mean he has to follow along in their footsteps only to get burned again. When he finds out his brothers went behind his back and placed an add for a bride on his behalf, he is furious! He doesn't want a bride so when she shows up, he will just have to make a first impression that will send her running. Unfortunately, Trent's little drama may have cost him dearly.
Olive Campbell has pretty much hit rock bottom. No job. No Family. And almost no more money. So at this point, it's no surprise she answers an add for a bear shifter seeking a bride. Really, she has nothing to lose and everything to gain. But of course Olive is an honest person so she will tell her intended the truth so he won't think her to be a gold digger. She just a wants to be happy. And after all she has been through she deserves it. When Olive meets Trent at his home, she is hurt and not a little angry over his actions and words at their first meeting. Olive is curvy and larger than the average woman but she has always been confident and happy with her looks, not insecure. But Trent's reaction to her has her wondering. She runs off dismayed and embarrassed.

Very soon, Trent realizes he messed up. He made huge error with his treatment of Olive. Now he finds himself in a panic. How can he fix this situation? How can he get her to come back? What will he say to make her believe he is sorry for his behavior? And what will he do if she doesn't give him another chance?
It was justifiably fun watching Trent's character change so quickly from arrogant to groveling. He wanted Olive, so he had to lose his crude, rude, grumpy attitude. Rhyme not intended :) He quickly became a man experiencing instant attraction, love at first sight and desperate to make Olive his wife. We know from the first two books in this series that Trent was mean and hated women in general. In this story we learn why. Oh. My. God!!! I was furious him. After learning what happened in his past, it was easy to forgive him and I loved him just as much as Olive did.
This was another fun shifter novella by Ruby and I can't wait to read the next!

I have been anxiously awaiting Trent's story since the first Bear Canyon Bride book, Bear Seeking Bride: Travis. Trent has watched both his brothers find their mates and settle down but he has no interest in following in their path. After being betrayed by his fiance and suffering a horrific injury that has permanently crippled him, he doesn't trust woman anymore. He's angry, bitter and lonely but has convinced himself that he doesn't need anyone. His brothers however, have other plans for him. Unbeknownst to him they place an ad in the paper looking for a mail order bride for him. They are convinced that if he finds his mate he will finally be able to be happy again.
Olive is jobless, boyfriend-less and broke. She has been blacklisted as a chef and is out of options. After seeing Trent's ad in the paper something draws her to him so she decides to contact him. I loved Olive, even though she has had her own traumatic experience she still manages to keep hope in her heart.
I LOVED this book! It's a wonderful story of love and forgiveness. At their first meeting Trent is overwhelmed by emotions that he hasn't felt in a long time and panics. In an effort to push her away he is unbelievably cruel to Olive and my heart broke for her for the pain that she felt. After fleeing his house in tears Trent finally realizes what kind of person that he has become and he doesn't want to be like that anymore. He and his bear are drawn to Olive in a way that they have never been before She makes him want to be a better person and he realizes that he will do anything to get her back. As they shared their past experiences with each other I cried for both of them. Full of emotion, love and passion this was by far my favorite out of the series. If you are looking for a quick, fun read full of deliciously sexy bear shifters, I highly recommend this whole series!

I KNEW this book was gonna be special and it was. I had a feeling whoever Trent's mate was it would be someone special and significant to his grumpiness. Olive...she was so sweet and lovely. I actually cried at their first meeting I was sad. I knew it would be horrible and that he would be a jerk. However, I didnt think he would be THAT big of a prat. I mean he wanted to push her away and he sure as hell did. Ouch. Good thing is he felt sick about it and realized he doesn't want to be that guy. He went to her realizing what a mistake he made and wanted to apologize and beg for another chance cause he REALLY likes her. It took some doing though something he wasn't at all comfortable doing which was digging in his past and tell her his reason for his dislike/hate for women. That took a lot for him I know. He really wanted her though so he bucked up and told her. I think initially she was not wanting to give in because how her father and ex treated her and she didnt want to accept that in Trent. Not that he was exactly like them but she didnt know him all that well. What she witnessed at their first meeting she wasn't sure she was willing to chance it. I will say Travis and Tyler should be whooped for pulling that behind his back and springing it on him like that. Their hearts were in the right place but the execution was off. LOL. Anyways, she gives him a chance and it works out well. We get to know how good a guy Trent really is. Awww. Loved the story. :)

Trent has been seriously hurt by a woman once already, so he's really pissed when his brother's post an ad for his mail order bride. Olive is in difficult circumstances and answers the ad so she'll have somewhere to live and a chance to cook and be a friend to someone. But Trent isn't interested, until he realizes that Olive is his mate and she's walking out the door.
I was so looking forward to this one because Trent is different from most of the bear shifter heroes...he was gruff and grumpy and cynical. Unfortunately, once he realized he wanted to keep Olive, he became just like his brothers, kind, sensitive and funny. He had a personality transplant and I didn't like it. It is possible to have a guy stay gruff, grumpy and cynical and still be sexy and likeable. In fact, I tend to like them better that way. Olive was okay, a little shy and not sure of herself with men, but no insecurities really. I liked her (even if she did cry a lot). And the initial sex scene was rather awkward IMHO. He tells her to take off all her clothes and wait for him on the edge of the bed. Then he pulls up a chair and sets it next to the bed as though he's sitting down to dinner. Without any preamble or kissing or whatever he just starts performing oral sex. It just felt strange. I still liked it, but my biggest disappointment was Trent's personality change.

A great coffee time quick enjoyable read. You won’t be sorry.
Sometimes you just need a book that is sweet, uncomplicated and fun to read. This book was it, just a little too much insta love but the time frame forces this to happen.
Trent is the third and last brother with a massive grumpy demeanour. In this story we find out why he is the way he is and how he was injured.
Olive comes from a well to do family but has known no happiness since her mother died when she was 10.
Trent at first chases Olivia off with his attitude and meanness but then he realises he doesn’t want to be that man anymore.

after years of watching their brother recover from the ultimate betrayal and simply exist without any happiness they post an ad up for Trent. Without his knowledge!
Olive is down on her luck when she comes across the ad with little hope left, she gives a response. And the rest is life and love are all about, taking a chance and putting yourself out there and meeting the other halfway when they need you as much as you need them.
Glad I took a chance on this series, you should too. You won't be disappointed!

Finally grumpy Trent gets his mate. At first when he met her, he isn't nice at all. He regrets it as soon as she leaves. Now he is going after his mate and will do whatever it takes to get her to give him another chance.
Olive gives Trent another chance, and she is so happy that she did. They both open up about themselves and it paves the way to a bright happy future as a couple.
This was short but it was also so sweet and endearing. I absolutely loved it. Looking forward to Caroline's book.

Another wonderful bear shifter book
This is book 3 of the series and it is just as wonderful as the first 2. Olive is a BBW girl from a rich family. After refusing to marry her dad pick for her husband, she is kicked out and blackballed from working as a chef in ant restaurant in town. Trent is a bear shifter who has trust issues after his girlfriend tries to kill him. This is their story of learning to let go and trust again. Read it in one setting. Loved it.

Loved it
I have read all three books, and during the first two I wondered how the author would be able to write a story for Trent. He was such a hateful and grumpy character, with very little tenderness in the first two books. After reading this story, I have to say the author did an excellent job of picking a character that was perfect for Trent. Olive had her own issues, but they were able to work them out together.

Four years ago Trent was betrayed by his fiancee. He was left having to use a cane for the rest of his life. He became very bitter towards the female population. Now that his brothers have found their mates they want the same thing for him. So they put out an advert for a mail order bride just for him. Olive answers the add. She is a big beautiful women. She also has issues from her father's cruelties and jerks for boyfriends. This is a short but sweet read about their courtship.

Best book in series!
Kindle Unlimited read. Book 3 in standalone series about brothers that are bear shifters. He was hurt because of a woman and does not trust them. His brothers put an add in for a bride. A grumpier, more emotionally raw installment, Trent’s character arc from mistrust to vulnerability feels well-earned. Olive’s personal struggles and dreams bring grounding to the paranormal romance, and the tension between bitterness and hope adds a nice emotional complexity. The dynamic between the characters gives this book a slightly deeper edge in the series.

I have read the whole series and I loved each one...this was the first series by Ruby shae I have read I will be looking for more...I just wished they were longer and would love to see if the brothers ever had a family..thank.you for a great read

This was my favorite of the three books. It was incredible to find out why Trent limps and why he wants nothing to do with women. I liked watching the change that came over him when he met Ruby. This is a fast, enjoyable story.

Perfect Pair
This was really cute and hot. I loved the grumpy older brother with some history. Along with his meddling brothers and sister-in-laws. The curvaceous heroine running from her awful father and her past. This was really sweet.

This was a great final part to the series. Trent is grouchy and grumpy because of his past. Olive has had a sad live because of her father and ex-boyfriend's bad treatment. Together they can make a good life.
