Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

CAN'T DO THIS ONE

Someday, I will have to read this whole series of Sam back to back. In my opinion, this book CAN'T be read as a standalone at all.
Two minutes into it and they are referencing events and character traits that I as a reader should know about. Thing like why this guy wanted Alex dead, what deal with her dad, and what's with this Tiny guy. Also, the hero has a son from this b*tch named Cheryl, and I am told the hero took her v-card one random weekend.
Now why in the hello would I even want to know that!?
Just not touching this right now.

One day I may read this whole series and understand it all.
BUT THAT DAY IS NOT TODAY!

"Alex" is the story of Sunshine and Alex.

I'll be honest. I never liked Alex since the series was introduced. He was a selfish ahole with almost no redeeming qualities, and I put off reading this as much as possible. Here, we finally see things from his POV, and are made to feel bad for him as all Skulls treat him like crap. Sigh.

In this book, we continue with his story, as well as of Sunshine, the girl he "bought" after they are brutally attacked. We also are made to deal with the great bitch Cheryl, Butch's old woman and the mother of Alex's son, the Skulls and the drama involving various members, mediocre May- December banging, evil enemies, tragedies and kind of resolution of conflicts. The three things which kept me hooked were Rose/Hardy conflict, and sweet blooming love between Tabitha/ Simon, and the development between Sandy and Stink.

Meh.

Safe?

This book made me so sad.
The way they treating poor Butch. So not cool. And I blame Alex for that. But then poor Alex also got the short end of the stick.
But hopefully after everything was revealed about all the things he did for the club he will be treated better.
And hope that now he will stop being an Ass to poor Cheryl and Butch. :-)

Well,...I don't know where to start. Well, if you had read previous books in the Skulls series, you know that Alex wasn't much of favorite guy. His desicions and actions, made me mad. So, when Sam said is Alex time to 'hear' his story, I think I'm not the only one who was kinda...Mmm...How to put it...Not looking forward for his story as others guys. Sam said, that she don't liked him, too, but then he showed her his other side, so give him a chance.

And let me tell you, at the beginning I didn't saw it. Alex was... Well, Alex. But the more I read, the more I started to understand, what Sam was talking about. There is so much more to Alex. He made so much sacrifice for the club and no one knew it. He didn't wanted anyone to know it.

Part what helped to sew the real Alex is Sunshine. She opened the door, where Alex keep his true self, his dreams.

And let me tell you, the true Alex is amazing. Okay, he still having some annoying views, but no one is perfect. And Alex showed, that he had enough in him to be our beloved book boyfriend. He become mine, that is for sure.

So, if you like me, having issues with Alex, which I did before I read his story, and are thinking, that you will pass his book...Don't. You will miss a great story. A story, which show to us once again, that you shouldn't judge book because of it's cover. There is always more to the story, then you are 'seeing' at the moment. And I'm asking you to give Alex a chance to prove to you this.

The only reason Alex was part of The Skulls MC was his brother in law and President, Tiny. No one took the time to get to know Alex, nor see he was their biggest asset, not even Tiny. Now after a deal Alex arranged derailed, the club is ready to vote him out. Alex is devastated but when one road ends another begins and he finally has Sunshine where he wants her.

Sunshine believes in Alex, she knows there are layers to the intensely private man. Despite the treatment to Alex by his MC, Sunshine gives herself fully to Alex, she is his only ally. Sunshine knows though Alex needs the club, it's his life and blood. Sunshine is determined to show that Alex is better than any of the men in the MC, now she has to get Alex to believe it.

Completely different MC story for The Skulls series. I have been curious about Alex for awhile and this did not disappoint. Had several twists in not just the story but the series. Everything is evolving. One of the best in the series thus far.

Sunshine and Alex were so boring, did not feel anything between them. To be honest I think I am getting a little bored by Sam Crescent's book, I feel it's the same thing I am reading over and over again. Sometimes I connect with the characters and sometimes I don't. The way she describes them having sex also makes me want to throw up in my mouth sometimes - I felt nothing for Alex and Sunshine and couldn't care less about him. Now to be fair I did enjoy when she brings in the other characters to the book and I am looking forward to Hardy's book.

I think I need to give her books a break as I am getting fed up reading about the same type of women and talking about the same thing.

IR book in the series! So worth the wait to read about Alex's tortured soul and awful past deeds. Yet his love of the sweet and innocent Sunshine was so sensual. Enjoyed the interactions of previous characters of the series from Tiny, Eva, Ned, Sully, Adam; Angel, Gash, Lash, Nash, Hardy and Rose.

Preston, the revenging nutcase was back to payback Alex for dropping the ball by neglecting a special person in his life... So WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? Read it to see! Lips sealed!

Nothing special about this book. The story of Alex (Member of the Skulls MC) and Sunshine (Alex's 'purchased' housekeeper). We learned in Whizz, Alex 'purchased' Sunshine from her father (not a fan of this storyline either). Sunshine eventually learns about the deal, but manages to fall in love with Alex anyway. A new enemy has followed Alex from Las Vegas to Fort Willis, to cause trouble for Alex and The Skulls.

My favorite part of this book (and there were not many) was catching up with a few of the previous characters. It was good to check-in with Tiny/Eva, Lash/Angel, Devil, Gash, Stink, Butch, Cheryl, etc. There was a shake up within the club's leadership, that I was very, very pleased with.

I think I have come to the end of the road with this series. I'm no longer excited to continue reading the series.

Why Not 5 Stars?

Alex and Sunshine - I could not get into them at all!! Sunshine was 'purchased/sold' to Alex and yet she felt completely OK with the transaction. I also thought Sunshine's character was completely different from the young woman we met in the previous book, Whizz. She was portrayed as shy and reserved. The new and improved Sunshine in Alex seemed bold and brazen for her virgin years. I was OK with the age difference, but I could not believe Alex and Sunshine as a couple in love. It happened way to fast for me. I have always liked Alex's character. He was mysterious and had some edge that was always present. I did not like how things with down with Alex, Butch and Cheryl, but I did not hold it against him. However, in this book, Alex's character just seemed off to me. Perhaps his head talk did not match the character that appeared in the previous books. I could not get into this Alex at all.

Patricia Bashing...really?? - I did not like the trashing of Tiny's first wife Patricia. It went on and on. The storyline on why she was hated was not believable and I did not like it. Yeah, I get that she was unhappy with her marriage, but for her to be hated and not missed, felt unfair.

Boring - The entire story was boring. The threat happened quickly and was disposed of even quicker. There was very little action to hold my attention. I had to force myself to keep reading it. Sad to say, but I think I'm over this series.

Hmm...

Got from some other reviews that Alex wasn't such a nice guy. Still hated the way the club treated him. He was disrespected, disregarded, and made out to be a non-factor or some hanger on at the club. The same club he helped to start with Tiny for his sister to be happy and Tiny could realize his vision. Now even if no one else knew that, Tiny at least knew that much. Tiny's wife even had the nerve to say he Alex wasn't Tiny's brother in law anymore, even though Alex was Tiny's first child's uncle. I also notice how there was never a notion to "buy" Alex out, just "vote" him out.

Anyway, the hero played the martyr, complete with everyone treating him bad and talking to him any type of way even though he's this powerful, rich, bad ass businessman, who's also their benefactor, and one of their founders, and has committed multiple murder in the name of the club, and doesn't want to tell anyone. But his girl stuck by him, revealed the truth, and told the mean bikers to stop picking on her man and play nice. The end.

I love this series about the Sculls, this time it's about Alex most of the club don't really consider Alex a Skull. He's a man that's generally in the background. He's also not very well liked, but Tiny president of the club and the members little realise all the sacrifices Alex has made over the years to make sure they were okay. That's just part of what's revealed about Alex in this story, when an old enemy resurfaces his only support is Sunshine, the unconventional way she'd come into his life might have caused most women to hate him. But Sunshine isn't most women.

Another great read from this author, this story had a lot of depth which I really enjoyed. There's still the hot sex scenes which are as always well done. Alex turned out to be one of my favourite stories of the series well worth reading.

Alex - The Skulls MC Series - Book 11 - By - Sam Crescent

This is the eleventh book in the amazing Skulls MC series and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Over the previous books Alex has had some great moments where I think he has turned a corner than moments where I want to Gibbs slap him around the back of the head and ask him, "Seriously!?" That being said for me he has found some redemption at long last. This book actually made me feel emotional for Alex and what he has gone through and sacrificed and I never thought I would say that. Alex Allen has helped Tiny from the very beginning to make the Skulls MC what it is today, to make Fort Wills safe for the club brothers, their families and the locals of the town itself. He may of lived in Vegas but his heart was always in Fort Wills.
When he discovered he was a father to Michael, Cheryl's son after a weekend fling he moved back to Fort Wills and wanted to start some sort of life. He had seen Sunshine and arranged a deal with her Father to pay off his debts and help his business but Sunshine would become his in every way. Sunshine fascinated him, called to his very soul and kept him desperate for another taste of her delicious plus size curves, her delectable chocolate skin, her innocence, her heart, everything about her made him want to be a better man, to be her man and it was wonderful to see another side to someone who has only appeared as self centred and manipulative up to this point. The Ln an enemy from his and Ned Walker's past Preston Cooper's appears after ten years with his white supremacy, racist horseSh1t and attacks both Alex and Sunshine. Alex must awaken the beast within him he thought was put to rest and also potentially involve his club who could be at risk by association. That is the last thing he wants but the club are not as welcoming with him as they are with everyone else so tensions continue to rise throughout. This was a really well written story, with well rounded and engaging main characters, Alex really redeemed himself in my opinion and I truly felt for him and the way he was treated. Sam totally changed my opinion by writing an intriguing story that had me hooked from beginning to end. I desperately wanted to see what happened next with Alex and Sunshine and their undeniable connection and sizzling heat between them, which was hot! I also enjoyed catching up with the other characters that we know and love and their ongoing side stories. Rose and Hardy are still not happy and together there is so much hurt and pain there with the love they have for each other. Gash is still training Angel bless her, she is such a beautiful soul inside and out and Gash is just delicious. Tabitha calls Simon, Devil and Lexie's son, those two are going to be trouble when they are older. Lash is amazing as always, him and Angel are couple goals for sure! When Ned and Tabitha are attacked Alex calls Devil and Lexie to come with Simon to help Tabitha. I adore Devil and he definitely added to the story. Sandy and Stink are still not resolved, Sandy is fightng their connection so I am so excited to see where their story goes. Sunshine completely surprised me, for a woman who appeared quiet and reserved when her man was threatened she stepped up everytime, she was definitely a pleasant surprise and will do just fine with the other old ladies of the club. Tiny was not showing his best but soon turned everything around. This was another outstanding addition to a truly wonderful series that will always hold a special place in my heart. I am so looking forward to seeing where we go next and what directions various characters will go. Still lots to be excited about with this series no question. Happy Reading.

What a disgusting story!

SPOILERS!!!
If you don’t want to know the story don’t read this review.

The male lead Alex is a disgusting excuse for a man in a romance story I have ever read. He treats all women like trash after he sleeps with them, but of course not before. Before he sleeps with them he charms them into giving it up to him. With regards to his baby mama Cheryl he thinks of her in such a vile uncalled for way. He abandoned her knowingly, with the possibility of her being pregnant and she grew up quick, fast and in a hurry to take on that responsibility on her own. But he acts like she’s a b!tch just to be a b!tch. The author wrote him thinking that he didn’t know why he ever fu€ked her because she was such a b!tch. Seriously?!?! He treats Cheryl like she’s scum walking and not like the fragile virgin he seduced and abandoned with a baby and no support, but yet to him, it’s all her fault.

As for the female lead Sunshine, I have so many issues with her and the storyline I don’t know where to begin or explain it. First is the race issue. The author wrote it into this story in several ways that I found offensive. Sunshine is black, with good hair, mid twenties virgin, who is a happy submissive to the old white guy. She was “sold/bought” like a slave by her own parents to Alex, and she has ZERO problems with that. She was written as saying, “it could have been worse if someone else had bought her”. If that isn’t old world slave minded thinking I don’t know what is!! The author also wasn’t as descriptive with her as she is with the other white female leads of her other stories, but in one scene she did write how Alex loved seeing his white skin next to her dark skin. Like that was all there was to her.

Second, if you can’t see all the negative stereotypes she wrote into this story you are an idiot. The only female lead she sold where money changed hands just so happens to be black. The only minority in the whole series just popped out of the ground, out of nowhere. Angel was given as collateral but no money was actually exchanged and she was accepted only to protect her. That’s not the same thing. Sunshine’s personality of accepting her sale makes the character and the author stupid because it sets back modern day, free thinking, independent women by a few centuries and was absolutely disgusting to read. She was wholly unlikeable, unrealistic and I couldn’t skip her scenes fast enough.

Third, as for the limited descriptions of her appearance, if as an writer you don’t feel comfortable describing another ethnicity then don’t write them at all. Don’t just write stereotypical white peoples version of what makes a beautiful black woman. Dark skinned with good hair isn’t the average for them and not the only way to view them. Had you given her k!nky curls I would have been forgiving, but you didn’t, so I won’t. And last but not least, her name. I don’t know if the author was trying for originality or if she was trying to pick a ridiculous name for her black character like so many minorities and celebrities do nowadays, but the name certainly matched the dimboness of the character she wrote. I don’t care if the author did give her strong moments at the end.

Which leads me to another aspect of the story that was beyond hypocrisy. Sunshine was written as thinking that her mother was an idiot to her father who she knew had a problem but she let him sell their daughter without complaint. Sunshine was just as hypocritical as her mother with being okay that Alex had bought her. I honestly can’t figure this authors thought processes out when she wrote this vile garbage.

The only good parts of the story were Lash stepping up for his wife and that sh!t MC, Hardy and Rose’s progress updates, and lastly Devil’s Simon and Tabitha’s reunion. It had me crying. I hated that the author didn’t give it more page time.

If you want to read this piece of sh!t after what I wrote, knock yourself out. But I did warn you thoroughly. Also, Amazon has been blocking my one star review of this book.

This series has always been one of my favorites. There was just something about this one that didn't do it for me. I just didn't like or relate to Alex or Sunshine. Alex kept going on that no one wanted to mess with him that he would bring a world of pain to them and yet when it came time for him to defend his family he was easily defeated. A gun against a bat and you lose???? He just seemed more talk and NO action. Then you have Sunshine who seems like this shy retiring young girl and then with no warning she is acting all hussy like. It just was a turn off.
Alex wanted to be accepted by the club and yet he gave them no reason to be accepting. If he keeps everything he has done a secret from them, how can they know the sacrifices he made for the club?
In this book you also get a glimpse as to what is going on with Hardy and Rose. She put up with his cheating 10 years ago and now she is doing something about it. She should have stood up for herself instead of giving into Hardy. Where was her conviction that it was over and she wouldn't let him treat her that way any more?
There was really no substance to this book for the most part. It was just sex and more sex that wasn't very inspiring. It didn't get interesting until the incident with Ned and when Chaos Bleed MC entered into it. I did have a moment of needing a tissue but that had nothing to do with Sunshine or Alex. Tiny's decision was unexpected and a little tear jerkey!

Alex...we all know Alex isnt a favorite but after reading his story I have a new found love for Alex. He is one tough character...he has so many secrets buried behind layers and layers are dirty deals...but he has always had The Skulls back without Tiny even knowing. Crescent does a great job of making the readers see the true Alex...My heart was breaking for him, he was so lonely that he makes a deal with Sunshine's father just so he can have her in his house. Alex keeps everything close to his chest..he doesnt trust easy. He has kept The Skulls alive in Fort Mills. When Alex's past comes back with a vengeance to take Alex out, this will cause ripples between Tiny and Alex. Sunshine is the h of the story at first she seems like a shy kitten but Crescent shows us her true strength and she is one tough female character. I loved watching her and Alex come together. Crescent gives us all of Alex's past and he is not what he seems. Another great story in The Skulls series. Happy Reading!!!

Alex is the most loyal member of the club and no one knows it's. They all hate Alex. So when an old enemy comes to kill him and mess with his life, no one is happy about it. But Sunshine is in love with him and wil, help everyone see the truth.

Meh... I think this is my least favorite one so far.

Try as I might, I just couldn't get into Alex's character. I liked Sunshine for the most part but I wasn't in love with her & Alex's relationship. This was one of those times when I could really feel the age difference between the two main characters. Those 25 years seem to be screaming in my face throughout the story, even if they weren't written on the page. It was just so rushed between the two of them, part of which I think was due to that age difference. Certain "things" needed to be sped along... if you know what I mean & I didn't find it that believable.

Their chemistry... another meh, for me. Yeah, they were both horny but I didn't get that deeper connection between them for some reason. Yeah, Sunshine stood up for her man but I didn't feel that sorry for Alex, a least as sorry as I think the author wanted me to feel about for him.

And I wonder... are Sunshine's lips made of frosting? Because she is licking them on what seems like every other page in this book!

Cheryl & Butch ~ I'm so tired of everyone hating on them. Will anyone EVER get over the whole Butch thing or are they now permanently cast-offs? Cheryl is not the evil b**** you keep claiming she is, Alex. Damn, that entire story line is annoying.

Lash & Angel ~ Some life-changing things went down with them... It'll be interesting to see see how things are handled & if it'll affect their relationship. (I don't think so BUT you never know.) I LOVE Lash!

Tabitha & Simon ~ Aww... their connection is so sweet & pure. I'm SUPER curious to find out if they will ever have a book somewhere down the line. I see skanky club wh*res & other temptations lurking in the not-so-far-off future. (13 years or so anyways.) Eww, I know.

Gash ~ Excited to see a little revenge go down and find out what really happened with him.

Eva & Tiny ~ Smart decision by Tiny at the end but geesh... Did you really NEED to make that announcement, Eva? Honestly, I kinda felt like she was a bit greedy about that whole thing.

Hardy & Rose ~ Enough already. I just can NEVER forgive Hardy for what he did... MULTIPLE TIMES. Yes, with one club wh*re but I repeat, MULTIPLE TIMES. Ugh. Rose should've kicked his cheating a** to the curb right after she caught him f***ing that skank at the clubhouse. *shakes head*

Baker ~ Interested in seeing what's in store for him in the future. Millie who owns the toy shop, eh? Hmm... *cue the broken heart when Baker sl*ts it up in front of her, intentionally or not*

Very much looking forward to the next installment in the Chaos Bleeds/Skulls storyline! Snake's Addiction, here I come!!

Honestly I wasn't expecting to like Alex, because well he was always such an asshole! After reading his story and knowing all of the sacrifices he went through and all of the dreams he ultimately gave up for the club, I couldn't help but fall in love with the man! Underneath it all he really was a very sweet, kind, caring, loving and protective family guy...who couldn't love a man like that? So after a while it became increasingly aggravating when everyone was just so cold to him, I mean for a close knit family...those bikers are somewhat dimwitted when they can't tell when one of their own is actually hurting...

Sunshine was sweet, not much to say about her except that. I think she was great for Alex. She was strong, where he was weak. She believed in him and in turn made those idiot bikers believe in him as well, so she gets an A plus in my book.

I'm not really sure what Rose's game plan is here, but I'm with Fighter, she either needs to forgive Hardy his transgression from ten years ago or she needs to stop stringing him along and move on. One minute she's asking for divorce papers, refusing to see him, then she's burning up the sheets with him...so which is it lady? I'm glad that things turned out the way they did for her but where does that leave Hardy?

Overall, I enjoyed Alex's story, but literally like 85% of the book consists of Alex and Sunshine having wild monkey sex. I love sex just as much as the next person, I'm not a pride in any way shape or form, but it's like page after page after page of them sexing it up and nothing about Preston Cooper, the bad guy. It isn't until you get to about 90% or a little more that the bad guy shows up and gets dealt with...you got to mix it up a little...my eyes were getting crossed already with all the dick and pussy action being mentioned but no bad guy action....sighs....

Oh and I absolutely love the bond between little Simon and Tabitha! If Tiny and Devil can't see that these two kids were made for each other, then they BOTH need to pass on their gavels because these kids are going to change MC history!

I was privileged to a copy by the lovely Author for my honest review Thanks Sam :)

I was glad we got the man in the shadows of the club over each book he was always there but nothing more then the hard man from Vegas who could help the club when needed.

I like Alex and all his faults. He's a very hard business man who would take matters in hand even if it's wrong and might hurt others he feels right. I never saw him as a True Skull just a brother-law to Tiny and silent friend and helper of the club but once you see his full self you feel the real man is not just a hard business man but a passionate one and with sunshine he is that possessive man that all The Skulls are. I love the club and all involved you get great action and a love story that's twined into it which has your heart blossom.
Alex isn't to everyone's liking but no one in the skulls are that perfect each have there faults and flews :D I love how this book is and the whole concept of his story each character has secrets and poor Alex's just returned to bite him in the butt.
I say if you read the others don't miss this one give him a honest try and I hope he changes your minds.

I'm really looking forward to more from Sam and The Skulls, Her work is great and These Bad bikers just keep me on edge for more Bring on #12!

Alex's story is one that HAD to be told. He was part of the club and yet was kept from it. I think it all came down to the relationship he had with Tiny which started all those years ago. It was Tiny's club and Alex respected and loved it but didn't find himself a place in it. Now however; it all comes to a head and that is thanks to Sunshine who is the love of Alex's life.

What a tenderness Alex shows to his Sunshine. It's a love story that has been slow in the making but when it hits......it's big. I really like the 'softer' side of Alex and darned-if Sunshine doesn't know exactly how to bring out the best in her man. She's young.....but very wise for her years.

Love all the MC goings-on as well as what (finally!) happens between Tiny and Devil. I was hoping for that 'break'. I wonder why Alex didn't make things right for Butch......but it'd seem that since Butch made the wrong choice he's punished forever. I'm still sad that Butch has been exiled to Las Vegas.

GREAT addition to the series. Can't wait to see what's up next in MC land. Thank you.

I thought I hated Alex , he was cold , distant and an asswhole all around. But that has changed. He fought his way into my heart! I love Alex. He is more a Skull than most of the guys. His dedication to the club blew me away and also how he went out of his way to bring Tiny and Devil back together. Oh! and how can I forget that Alex knows the TROJANS! I was surprised by Sunshine. She is such a great balance of Badass and Sweetheart. They way she fights for Alex is beautiful. Yes in the beginning I wanted to slap Alex so much. But then I just wanted to hug him and tell him that he was loved. Overall it was a great story.

I am glad we got an inside look at Hardy and Rose's story! HOLY SHIT she is pregnant! I am super dying right now. Can't wait fro the next Skulls book! I LOVE SAM CRESCENT!!

Book 11 in The Skulls series.
I wasn't looking forward to Alex's story. He wasn't a character I liked very much. But when you like a series, you have to read all of the books in that series.
So in saying that, I was happy that the book was in the series, and that we got to see a different side to Alex. He still is his own worst enemy. He keeps so much to the outside, and then gets mad when the Skulls don't recognise what he has been going, and what he has given up to keep the Skulls going strong.
Thank goodness for Sunshine. She sees something in Alex and will do anything to protect him. Including showing the Skulls why they need Alex.
