After so much rain, there is finally a ray of sun breaking through the clouds that have haunted Raquel’s life. His name is Neal and she couldn’t be more happy. She finally has everything she’s ever wanted. A nice man, a good job, a promising future. Dante is a thing of the past and she’s determined to keep strong boundaries to ensure he stays there. But … now that they share a godchild, it’s impossible to rid of him entirely. Not when he’s always there. Still, she tries to push it all behind her. Little does she know that it may not be her past that she should be worried about. Neal might hold secrets that can change everything. Suddenly, she isn’t so sure she’ll ever get that happily ever after she thought she’d finally found. Boundaries break, secrets unfold, and what’s left at the end of Rocky’s journey is truth. And while the truth can hurt, it can also set you free.
“No one would ever know that underneath all my layers, a love I’d never forgotten, but lost before it ever had a real chance to be mine was being smothered and left to die.”
After reading Breaking Away I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Breaking Through! One thing that I noticed from the very beginning of the book is that Rocky has grown up A LOT! I love that she is so grown up! She’s been through a lot of crap so of course it’d make sense that she’d have to grow up.
“We were pain. We were dysfunction. We were everything that was wrong with love.”
So many emotions in this book! Breaking Through is so well written and the characters feel so real! I love when I can read a book and I’m able to relate to the character somehow. I love that connection. The world that Calista creates definitely keeps you entertained. You’re hooked from the very first pages!
“How could two people feel so strongly about each other and get it so very wrong? We got it all wrong.”
I found myself holding my breath throughout the book, with the emotions and the tension I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out so of course I had it devoured in no time!
“..He reached through my back and yanked my heart from my chest, dragging it out through my shoulder and leaving me to burn in painful flames…”
The scenes with Rocky and Dante together unnerved me. With all their history they want to avoid each other at all costs but with having to share their god daughter. They are thrown together quite a few times. I loved seeing Nat & Aiden! They are such great friends to Rocky throughout everything! I love their little girl! She’s so freaking adorable!
“Hope and faith were beginning to replace fear, and the two of them together were an even stronger fuel than I could’ve ever imagined.”
I’ve never liked Neal through the series. It’s no secret I’ve always been #TeamDante but I have to admit in Breaking Away he was exactly what Rocky needed.. And what Neal needed as well. But as I read Breaking Through I still didn’t know what was going to happen!
Overall Breaking Through was a great book that you need to read!
Wow I have been waiting for this book for so long. And I was not disappointed this was as good as the first two books. Now I have to keep a tight rein on what I say as to not ruin this for you, but man I want to tell you so much first off this is not your typical love story. This is more like real life. And I warn you there are some points where you are going to cry. You know how life does it throughs you so many curve balls. But there are some happy moments too. You get to see a whole different side of Niel that was so surprising; I just could not believe it. But my favorite person has to be Rocky and Dante’s god child Naideen. She is so cute and funny. You know the term out of the mouths of babes? Well some of the things she says is so much fun to read. She asks them a question that truly troughs them all. Then when things look like they are going fine the all lose someone very close to them that has wveryone thrown especially Nat. Rocky stepsup to take care of her and Naideen. As the recover from that and Rocky heads home early man she is in for a sock of her life, when something happens in two separate occurrences with Neil and then to Dante. Life just trough you sometimes.
Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do; they value your opinions too.
What an amazing conclusion to this trilogy!! It was perfect. This is definitely a whole new Rocky. It's no secret that she hasn't always been my favorite character but it has been really awesome to see her grow and mature. Can you be proud of a fictional character? Bcuz that's kind of how I felt while reading this. What a journey. And I really loved how everything came full circle. Definitely worth the wait!
What a great ending to a highly, emotional series! This review won’t be terribly long because I don’t want to spoil anything for those of you who haven’t met Rocky and Dante. I assure you once you’ve met them, you won’t soon forget them. Rocky and Dante met years ago as seniors in high school, and since then their relationship has been passionate and dysfunctional. They either love each other or seem to hate one another, although each has the other’s heart. They just don’t know how to treat it kindly. Now years later, Rocky has finally worked hard to find happiness in her life and without Dante. But as we all know, the two of them are never finished. The two are thrown together with the birth of their goddaughter. After all this time, are they really over one another, and if not, will they finally get it right?
It was amazing to watch Rocky grow up from the unsure, deeply hurt girl to the more self-confident woman she has become. In earlier novels, I wanted to slap some sense into her yet I still loved her. Dante was also selfish, and I loved seeing him mature as well. They did absolutely everything wrong…lied and betrayed each other…and never trusting the other completely. But, they could never truly be done with one another. I really wanted them to get it right, and believe me, they had a lot of work to do in that department. I loved seeing the other characters as well, such as Nat and Aiden. Now, those two got it right. As with the other two books, don’t get lost in the angst and drama that is Rocky and Dante. If you do, you will lose the lessons they can teach you: the importance of dealing with the past to break the binds that keep you there and the power of love! Great series!!!

This is the final book in this series and Breaking Down and Breaking Away need to be read first.
It appears that Raquel Garcia could finally be getting her happy ever after. Things with Neal are going well although she is still unsure of their future with not knowing whether or not she wants kids. They are working on their future and have finally taken the big step of moving in together.
Yet Raquel feels out of place in Neal's world and is not sure where she belongs. As her friends move on with their lives, Natalie and Aiden have a baby and she and Dante are named as the godparents. As their lives continue to cross over and there is no getting away from each other.
As tragedy strikes will Raquel figure out where she belongs and where her heart is truly happy?
This book was a good conclusion as everyone starts to grow up and get help with all of their demons.
There were certain parts that I wasn't surprised about at all and was just waiting for it to happen.
I was glad that Raquel finally was able to put herself first in this book and really figure out what is was that she wanted and what made her happy. I think some of the tragedies in this book really just shook all of them up enough to make them see how fragile life really is.
This book shows us how fragile life can be and how to count on those that love you through it all no matter the time or distance.
Hooray looks like Rocky is going to finally get her happily ever after with Neal and she couldn't be happier everything is going well for her you could almost say her life is nearly perfect.
But Dante is never far away especially when them sharing the roles of Godparents to the same little girl..
I can't say to much as I don't want to give anything away but will Rocky life stay perfect and Neal be her happily ever after.
I absolutely loved this trilogy and can't recommend it enough.
I looooovvvveeeddd this book but HATE that the series is ending!!! I liked Neal for a little while but I will say I started not to like him real fast cause he was so possessive and jealous and bossy!! I'm so glad Rocky and Dante found their way back to each other!! Perfect ending!!!! This book definitely gets a thumbs up!!!
