I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was a great read. The world building was simple and the characters were easy to connect to and the plot was very straight forward. I wish there was more about the starweaver aspect of the story. I was hoping to have more of a understanding of it and a backstory. All in all it was a very enjoyable read that I was able to demolish in one day.
The Vampire and His Star Weaver is such a fun paranormal romance, with twists on the usual vampire and fae lore. I loved the ley line based magic system.
The heroine, Sage, is a college senior who has spent her life alone. She's never been able to make friends or find love. The hero, Silas, is a 500 year old vampire who has spent most of his life looking for his fated mate. It's kind of a big deal when they meet because there hasn't been a fated match for 80 years.
Due to the particulars of the magic system (that I won't get into because *spoilers*), Sage has to be protected from forces that want to steal the latent magic she has no idea she possessed. So, very much against her will, Silas and his brothers spirit her away to their safehouse.
The Vampire and His Star Weaver is perfect for readers who love forced proximity, fated mates, vampires, found family and interesting magic systems.
Thank you, Devon Atwood for the opportunity to advance read. ❤️
Silas is the first vampire in around 80 years to find his fated mate and boy he did not know what to do with her 😂 He basically wanted to kidnap Sage and just keep her with him forever. He got so flustered because he couldn’t understand why Sage wasn’t immediately in love with him 😂
Honestly, if a hot dark-haired stranger said I was his fated mate, no questions asked I would have gone straight with him.
Sage is obviously hesitant about the whole situation and she definitely isn’t used to being the centre of anyones attention (for reasons you’ll find out about). She’s almost like a stray puppy who you need to slowly approach so they warm up to you.
Silas is possessive af. He struggles with his need to protect Sage whilst also letting her make her own choices because she is stubborn. Sage is a very likeable character, she definitely tests Silas’s patience. I also loved her connection with his cohort brothers, it was a nice addition to the plot to see how much they loved her as well.
It’s instalust to begin with because of the mate bond but Silas and Sage really get to know each other and their connection deepens throughout the book.
I really enjoyed this book, there’s paranormal/magical elements and a super fun plot.
Thank you to Devon for letting me be part of your ARC team.
okay so i don’t usually read fantasy books, but i had the opportunity to arc read this for devon and all i can say is wow!!! i genuinely did not expect to love this book as much as i did. thank you again to devon and her team for letting me be an arc reader!!
i was a little confused at first because i thought this was supposed to be about vampires… so why are we following this nerdy little college girl around?? and then BAM. it all clicked.
sage starts out as this unpopular, awkward, normal girl who’s basically just trying to impress her mom, and somehow ends up becoming the MOST important person because of the blue magic. her snarky comments were hilarious and she loved pushing silas’s buttons every chance she got.
and silas??? i loved him. he tried so hard to act all nonchalant and unaffected, but there was absolutely no way in hell that man was actually nonchalant. he was protective of literally everyone sage, his brothers, his people and once he and sage were connected, she became just as protective over him too. i also really liked how much pressure he carried trying to be the house heir. and the way he challenged his father?? *chef’s kiss.* he was smart, stubborn, protective, and genuinely wanted to make the best choices for everyone around him.
for me, the brothers really pulled this whole story together. i LOVE good supporting characters because they add so much depth to a story and always leave you wanting more from the tiny little snippets you get of them. art was definitely my favorite, but honestly i loved all the brothers. sage’s relationship with them and all their little jokes and banter had me giggling the whole time.
and the smut??? vampire smut was not something i knew i needed, but here we are. the whole fated mates connection added so much intensity, and the fact that the brothers could hear everything because of their super vampire hearing and then proceeded to make fun of silas afterward??? it added such a fun layer to the story.
i also really liked learning about the different feedings and vampire houses. i would’ve loved even more world-building about the fae and how everyone connected together, but honestly i think that would’ve made this book insanely long. since i’m newer to fantasy, i definitely had to look up a few things here and there to fully understand some of the terms and concepts, but i still had such a good time reading this.
i finished this book in two sittings because i literally could not put it down. and then the ending?!?! the confluence happens, all this crazy stuff goes down, and then it just… ends??? absolutely not. i need to know what happens with cysgadyn, the wellspring, and the ley magic immediately.
i’ll definitely be waiting for the next book in this series. thanks again, devon
“To the ones with stars in their eyes and vampires in their hearts. You’re cute, but you’re filthy.” 😂 And what do you know, this story has a star gazer and a vampire. All her life Sage just wants to be noticed. Silas has been searching and has finally found his mate. He and his vampire brothers are not about to let her go. But Silas is not the only one who wants her now that her identity is revealed. The Drama Queen, I mean Fae Queen, has twisted plans for Sage.
This is not just a simple blood sucking vampire and human girl story. It has lots of interesting novel elements. Silas is one of five vampires that make up his cohort. Each member of his cohort has a different gift and a different means of getting nourishment; meaning they are not all super powerful nor do they all drink blood for sustenance. The five brothers all have wonderfully different personalities and are all protective of Sage. My fave is Art. He is direct, funny and maybe the food lover in me clicks to him because his love language is food!
Sage is also not a simple human. She has a special ability that’s become rare in this world, cosmic magic of sorts. Aside from the vampires and faes, there are also shifters, witches and shadowy fae creatures.
I giggled at the nod to Twilight. You’ll recognize it when you read it. But unlike Bella, Sage doesn’t strive to become a vampire.
This was an interesting read with fun banter, unique magic, and a bit of sexy fun. It can be read as a standalone but there is definitely more to the story. I look forward to reading about the other brothers.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to Devon Atwood for providing me with an ARC, which allows me to read the book and voluntarily provide an unbiased review.
The Vampire and His Star Weaver by Devon Atwood 📕4.25⭐️3🌶️
thank you so much to Devon for the opportunity to ARC read your newest romantasy! overall, this was a 3.5 star read rounded up to a 4 for me.
Sage has always been a bit of a loner... unhappily following in the footsteps of her mother, never been in a relationship, and often ignored by the people around her. at this point, she's just trying to finish up college. but all of that changes when she meets Silas- her vampire mate. suddenly, she's thrust into a cohort of vampire brothers who love and care for her deeply. BUT- there's danger lurking just around the corner in this newfound life of hers.
I thought this had great readability... the world building was simple, the characters were easy to connect with, and the plot was straightforward. it was fun, had Devon's normal humor and banter, and had a lot of unique elements. on the flip side, I do think it was a bit shallow for a romantasy. my biggest complaint is that we never really got into the "starweaver" aspect. and when something plays such a big role in the plot, I would have expected us to get more information on it and a deeper understanding of its backstory and importance.
all in all, this was an enjoyable read that I devoured in just a few days. I do look forward to the rest of the series and reading (at least, I hope so!) the stories of the rest of the cohort (especially Art!!).
but please, this is my formal request to leave the food descriptions out of the smut scenes lol... "I was a steamed green onion, floppy and boneless" ... "I swallowed thickly, suddenly entranced by the way he was staring at my &*$$! like it was the last glistening coconut in an endless, sandy desert" ... I cannot explain to you how much those words took me SO FAR out of the moment. I nearly threw up an SOS...
Thank you Devon Atwood for the opportunity to read as an ARC reader. My review is voluntary and an honest review.
Wow 🤩 is what first comes to mind. When I first heard about the book it had already caught my attention. I’m a huge paranormal/shifter/fae/etc type reader and had a feeling this was going to be GREAT! This is the first time ever reading a book from Devon and it DID NOT disappoint!
Vampire x Human Age gap ( 500 yr old Vampire x College Student ) Fated Mates Forced proximity Possessive Protective Lots and lots of banter Strong FMC ( Sage ) Virgin MMC ( Silas ) Amazing supporting characters ( Silas’ brothers are HILARIOUS 😂
From the FIRST PAGE til the LAST PAGE I was HOOKED and truly invested in the characters. Sage is a “loner” so to speak that ends up meeting Silas who in turn realizes they’re true fated mates. That hasn’t happened in 80 yrs! Silas has waited for CENTURIES to find his mate and it happened. What does he do?? I’m not going to spoil that for you 😂.
The BANTER is by far AMAZING to me. When I heard a reference from one of Silas’ brothers asking if he’s trying to become MORMON I laughed so hard! I laughed as I’m actually LDS myself and it was truly funny. When you get to that particular chapter and paragraph you WILL laugh too with that entire conversation Silas is having with one of his brothers.
Don’t worry though there’s also spice too for those of you that are looking for some.
I’m looking forward to book 2 in this series. I can’t wait to read more about the Star Weaver, if Silas’ brothers find their mates, the magic, etc in more details. You don’t want to sleep on this book and series! It’s a great new type of vampire x human story to me.
This was a fast paced and paranormal romance with spice, vampires and fae. Sage has been living a lonely and slightly unhappy life until she meets Silas, her vampire mate. When they meet magical chaos ensues. Turns out Sage is the first vampire mate found in quite some time, so not just Silas wants her. The fae are after her as well and she is immediately in danger. Eventually Silas steals her away to stay with him. He then works with his cohort, aka four other vampires, to help keep her safe. Sage is witty and hilarious (even when its unintentional.) She is also super stubborn even when it doesn't actually help her. Silas is broody and possessive. He definitely fell first and harder. He really goes through it for her. He wants to protect her but also let her have her choices even when those things don't mesh. I loved them together though. I felt like they really balanced each other nicely. Thanks to the magical mate bond, they definitely started as a case of instalust that became deeper and real feelings as they actually get to know each other. The banter in this book was top tier banter. It was a lot of fun to read and I really enjoyed this. I hope we get more books with the other members of the cohort!
So I knew Devon was going to bring the heat AND the funny, because that is the hallmark of her work, but when I say that she topped herself this time, I’m not kidding. I got this book as an ARC and immediately ended up in the hospital, which means that this review is desperately late, but it’s 1:00AM, I’ve just finished it in one sitting, I’ve still got an IV in, but I have GOT to tell you to go read this book! Silas and Sage are perfect for each other from the get go…fated mates and fae magic notwithstanding, they are just cosmically matched. But like any thinking woman, she’s got some questions: sure, she wants him to rip her clothes off in the kitchen of a soccer stadium, but also, did he really just kidnap her? The shenanigans are good, but the world building is GREAT, as per usual. And his four vampire brothers are an absolute hoot! I can’t wait for Art, Alvaro, Constantine, and Matteo to meet their mates and see how that shakes out. And let’s not forget the other supernatural creatures making life even more…interesting. If this is the book u start with when diving in to the Devon Atwood universe, all I can say is, “hang on because you are in for the romantic ride of your life!”
I have loved every book I’ve read by Devon Atwood, so I went into this hoping it would be the same.
And it was.
A vampire fated to mate with a (almost) human… got me pulled in already!! The way they found each other was different than anything I’ve read before (no spoilers) but it was different and definitely surprising.
The immediate connection that Sage had to Silas (and her cohort) was oddly refreshing to me (though you’d think it would be off putting? lol)
Atwood writes her characters in such a real and easy-to-connect-with way (is that a thing?) that no matter what she writes, I never feel uneasy or confused.
The spice… 🌶️🌶️🌶️ The banter … 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷 The plot … 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
It’s all so good.
Silas is written like a man written by a woman. Smooth, protective, well mannered, experienced (😉) and willing to protect his mate at all costs.
I’m hoping maybe we get another book… or four… about the rest of the cohort?? Or just ART?
Read it. Just do it.
Thankful to have a spot on Devon Atwood’s street team, to get to devour her stories early!
✅ Vampire x Human ✅ Fated Mates ✅ Found Family ✅ Unique Magic System ✅ Virgin FMC ✅ “Good Girl”
Y’all I’m pleased to tell you the FMC, Sage, is intelligent, and independent, which does work against her a bit. She’s doing her best and I love her for it.
Silas a bit of a caveman, but honestly, who doesn’t want to be manhandled by a centuries old billionaire vampire smokeshow who’s completely obsessed with you?!
Something I thought was cool about this book was that there’s 5 different types of vampires. They all feed on different things. Silas is in a cohort that features one of each: Silas - Sanguine (blood) Constantine - Incubi (desire) Art - Adfectus (emotions) Matteo - Mentem (thoughts) Alvaro - Magicae (ley/magic basically)
I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series that’ll feature the other 4 vamps in Silas’ cohort and their mates.
This author is new to me. I liked the writing style, the different languages she used. The flow was very good. Loved the intrigue, the twists and intrigue. Also the unique perspective of vampires and supernaturals. There's even a splash of humor mixed in, especially form his brother, at sometimes the most inappropriate time. Vampires have very good hearing. The worldbuilding was exceptional. I could feel Sage's frustrations and guilt. Silas's protectiveness and his method of learning a lesson put a smile on my face.
I loved both Sage and Silas along with his brothers of the cohort. Each has an unique gift or way to get nourishment. I loved Sage's determination .
Steam to the eventual romance.
I look forward to reading more from this amazing author.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This is the story of Silas, a vampire, and Sage, his human soulmate. Sage has always felt herself to be overlooked by everyone, then everything changes the day she meets Silas, her soulmate……
What a fantastic story! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last. It’s very different from many of the usual vampire stories, with great world building and well imagined characters that you definitely want to learn more about. I loved the idea of ley lines being the source of power for all supernatural creatures, and having vampires who don’t all feed on blood was another well imagined idea. I’m not sure if there will be a follow on book but I personally would love to read more about this cohort of bothers 🐈⬛
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I had been waiting for this one and I enjoyed it. It's a good read. I love the idea of vampires feeding on different things. These vampires feed on bl00d, emotions, magic, thoughts, and desire. I can't wait for the other books in this series.
Sage has a hard time fitting in. She feels like no one sees her. It's not until she meets Silas that she finally feels seen and heard. When she first meets him it's a rough start. The man k!dnáps her, so I can't blame her reluctance to listen to him. Silas is a very old vampire and the first vampire to find his mate in 83 years. He is beyond happy to find her and can't wait to start his life with her. She's a little resistant at the beginning. She had a lot of stuff thrown at her, and now she's also in danger. She's not sure who to trust, but she feels safe with Silas.

Vampires, Fated Mate, Dark Romance. The story line is captivating; I found myself saying just one more chapter. The connection between the vampire and his fated mate is sudden and unmistakable. The mate, Sage is an independent woman who is attending college, human, has no knowledge that vampires exist. Sage finds herself unexpectedly immersed in a realm inhabited by vampires, while also discovering that she is destined to be the mate of a vampire who is both highly possessive and fiercely protective. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, feeling the young woman’s frustration. There is great banter, and spice. I hope that there will be another book after this one, to continue the storyline. I enjoyed this book thoroughly.
I joined the ARC team after being drawn in by a teaser I saw on social media- the story did not disappoint!
Rating ✨: 4/5 Spice Level🔥: 2/5
I really enjoyed the unique magic system and concepts ( I haven't read any other stories with the same system or mate bond situation, and I have read so many romantasy stories)!
The story was plot heavy and spice light to me, and I really enjoyed the found family vibes with the cohort brothers 🥰
A couple of the more complicated plot points seemed a bit hurried at times, but honestly the author fit so much into the story that it didn't bother me as much as it could have. The author created a huge world of opportunities for future stories, and I would be happy to continue the journey!
“I was hers and she was as mine, and of all the cosmic connections in the universe, that was the one that mattered to me the most”
This was such a fun read for me! I really enjoyed this book and the characters! This was a fast paced Fantasy Romance with a little spice and funny banter and a strong willed FMC! We have Vampires, Fae, Witches and more! I loved Silas and Sage and watching their relationship blossom! If you love Vampire romance, Fated Mates, Fae Magic and some chaos then this book is for you and highly recommend it! I hope there are more books so we can read about the 4 other brothers in the cohort finding their fated mates! This was an easy 5 stars from me!

Sage wants someone to acknowledge her existence. Her people-pleasing tendencies are insane.
Silas is a few centuries old and doubtful of ever finding his one person until it hits him. He is ready for his epic love story to begin but humans have changed over the centuries and he knows he can't just lock her in a basement ( no matter how much he wants to). Now he just has to figure out how to get Sage to fall for him and agree to become his. It's the only way to keep her safe after all.
Of course, it's not an epic love story without a mind-bending mystery that needs to be solved! This book left me laughing, crying, and at some points screaming at my Kindle.
This was a really fun read! The concept of different vampire houses and each with their own abilities was compelling and made for some good world building. There was a really nice theme of found family and I liked that the main character was realistically portrayed as struggling at times with the sudden introduction of magic and a vampire mate into her previously quiet life.
I thought the spice between Sage and Silas was well written and not included at the expense of the plot. There was enough plot and conflict to keep me engaged throughout and I can’t wait for more books in the series!
4.5 ☆ And Devon does it again. I've read every book of hers since her first series. Each book keeps getting better and this start to her new series doesn't disappoint. Silas is a vampire who is possessive and only cares about her and his cohort. Sage's world get turned upside down and she is thrown into the supernatural world but is in denial. The danger is real and it is hard to keep someone safe who denies its existence. The banter, the action, the relationships, and the tension will keep you reading chapter after chapter as quickly as you can. If you need your next book boyfriend, look no further! Go ahead and add in all of the cohort because you'll fall in love with them too.
I first heard about this book on TikTok, and it sounded so amazing that I actually joined the author's newsletter so I would not forget about it when it came out. So glad that I did, because this was exceeded all of my expectations. Plus, I got the joy of learning extreme ironing is a thing.
Loved this so much, and I can't think of a single thing that would have made this book better, except for maybe illustrations. I'm a firm believer that there's absolutely no reason adult books shouldn't include them.
Thanks so much to the author for the free ARC. My review is voluntarily given, and my opinions are my own.
3.5 ⭐️ A standalone vampire urban-fantasy that was a super fun time. A fast burn romance with plenty of spice and a fated mates trope. The FMC is smart and witty which I quite enjoyed and the MMC yearns for her from the beginning.
“I’d have torn out my own beating heart before making her cry.” - Silas
I liked the uniqueness of the vampires in this story and the world. The side characters are very likeable and I do hope we get more books following other characters because I would LOVE one for Art! I thoroughly enjoyed the humour in Devon Atwood’s writing.
The Vampire and the Star Weaver was such a fun book to read. Clear characters, understandable plot, great pacing. Un-put-downable story.
Sage has always been a loner and is just trying to get through the last of her college years. Silas is an ancient vampire who is part of a cohort of vampires from various families. This book has it all: family pressure, angst, instant attraction, danger, spice, worldbuilding, and the promise of more to come from the other vampires on the scene! I can’t wait to read more from this world.
Fated mates is one of my most favorite tropes. I love Devon's writing and Silas' devotion to Sage is beautiful.
I also really like the new take on Vampires, ever since sparkly vampires, reading vampire novels can really be hit or miss but I loved what Devon came up with. I am sosososososo excited for more stories in this universe. You get very attached to the brothers Silas lives with and I want them all to have happy endings.
With every Devon Atwood novel you can expect wonderful banter, excellent plot pacing (and also great smut). Highly recommend, happy reading!
Going into this book, I wasn’t sure if it would align with my reading preferences. This was amazing! While it didn’t fit all the typical tropes I’d want in a 5 star read, it came across as a novel idea with great writing and ended up being one of my top reads for 2026 so far (it’s May). It’s getting 5 stars for character development, magic system, paranormal with a twist, and world building. I can’t wait for a book 2 because I already miss the characters. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Sage is a media student who's stuck with bottom level task as she tries to better herself to ascend to the position her mother has ascertained. Silas is a vampire who's lived hundred of years never finding his mate. One call lands Sage exactly where she needs to be. One augar reading leads Silas to that exact point as well. Once they align, chaos ensues. Beneath the chaos, far sinister plans start to unravel. Step into the world of humans, vampire, wraith and fae. You'll enjoy it and want even more.
This book caught my interest right from the beginning with Sage, a nerdy college girl who struggles with loneliness. All of a sudden she is hit by a ley line and finds herself thrown into a world full of Vampires, Fae, and other supernaturals. I love the way Silas tries to respect her wishes and give her space all while fighting the mate bond and needing to keep her safe. I do wish we had gotten more information on the Star Weaver aspect, but I am hoping we will get more in the next story as I think this is first in a series.
Another winner book by Devon! When she said she was coming out with a vampire book, I couldn't wait! Sage and Silas are fated mates, and this is a trope that I love! Devon really went into explaining more of the world of paranormal than just writing a love story. Which is honestly a big change from most of the other vampire books I've read. I think most can understand Sage's hesitation to this world and would feel the same way. Silas was a "gentleman" (most of the time) by not pushing for instant obedience. Loved the depth of this story and all the angles that came from it!
Absolutely loved this book. From the beginning to the end i couldn't get enough….. and i need more.
The plot was well thought out. Containing action, romance, impending wars and the supernatural.
The romance that blossumed between Silas and Sage was just sooo sweet and even though they were mates and it happened in a short time, it didn't feel rushed. It felt genuine!
(I was starting to get reverse haram vibes, from the closeness of the brothers to Sage)
Really good read and would recommend.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
First, thank you Devon Atwood for this opportunity to join your ARC team!
Secondly, it's been a long minute since I've read a vampire book set in modern, present times, and I am so glad to have read this as a reintroduction.
The pacing was fast enough that I ate this up; I want more! The banter was bantering and the sardonic sarcasm is right up my alley. I enjoyed the different variations of vamps and how they're not all powerful as many legends/stereotypes dictate.
