Would have rated higher but I hated the way the Theo situation played out. I really wanted Finn to be angrier at Sebastian considering all the crap Finn was enduring from Sebastian’s family. If protecting his family is worth murder than Preston should be dead also. But I guess it doesn’t count because Sebastian’s family of assholes are rich? Dumb.
Also, the Leslie/Margaret name swap pulled me from the story every. single. time.
Love the writing style, but it feels pretty important to ensure you have the correct names for your side characters.

Please read The Arrangement first! The two books are so well written, with complex characters and a heartfelt story arc that just made me have all the feels! It may seem like a typical omegaverse book but it’s more than that. It’s real and authentic and lovely. I miss Finn and Sebastian already and wish there was more but it definitely doesn’t need more. Happy reading!
As other reviewers have said, the manner in which the conflicts with the family members on either said of this pairing played out did not sit well at all with me. I was a little shocked and definitely not very sympathetic with one resolution, and rather disappointed with the pat ending of the other.
Also, the Leslie/Margaret thing drove me nuts through a good chunk of the second book.
On the positive side, I liked Fin as an interesting Omega, with some depth beyond the typical ultra-feminine/twink omega stereotype. (Don't get me wrong, I can and do love more feminine/twink-like characters in m/m romance. It's just the genre, especially Omegaverse, sometimes seems to include relatively few vulnerable/submissive/bottom characters outside of a rather stereotypical feminine/twinkish vein. I find myself wishing for broader representation in Omegas and/or vulnerable/bottom/submissive characters in m/m, and Finn seemed a little less stereotypical than most to me.)
I also liked the cover art, as Finn didn't look ultra-tiny or too extra-vulnerable. (Although it's probably AI art, isn't it?)
I honestly disliked both of these books. I am not the biggest fan of omegaverse but will read them when I need a sort of... Palate cleanser... I have read a few books that have really weighed on me recently - such good books but my heart and soul needed something sorta mindless... I hate saying that about any sort of book but that is what these are usually for me so I don't mind when they aren't the best written or they mention certain things 100 times or are more fluff that plot but this series was full of red flags from the start. I shouldn't have even decided to read them just based on the cover art. It honestly looks to be AI.. even the way the book was wrote made it seems like it was all AI... I haven't researched that but did see a review that mentioned there is no art credit for the cover. I need to be better about checking those things. I still read this book and continued on to the next but DNFd the second. I was honestly skimming more than truly reading. The assistants name changes from book 1 to book 2, the series felt like chat gpt wrote it and I hated how the theo situation was handled. I hate that I even cared enough that it bothered me. Just killed him. Like - you couldn't help him. Even in the first book - just send him away - no options to try to help him get out of the situation - or at least not end up back the same situation... how broke he was... anyways. I will make note of this author and won't read anything else from them. Looking through their other books... every cover looks to be AI and that should have been enough for me to not read anything from them. I feel I lost a bit of my soul by even thinking about reading a book that possibly uses AI. **Sorry for my lack of cohesive thought. I feel I word vomited the whole review! :o)

Definitely didn’t enjoy this as much as the first book. Why? Well, I truly wish authors would keep character/timeline lists or, barring that, re-read the previous book before writing another in a series. I mean, it’s not as if these books were that far apart in release date. So, who the hell was Margaret? Her name was Leslie all through book one. And, when Finn was kidnapped in book one, he was only about 2-3 months pregnant. So, add the 6-7 months until delivery plus the 4 months that Sophie’s been alive and he was kidnapped approximately 10-11 months before… NOT 4 months or 3 months or whatever other number was used. Am I being picky? Yes, a little, but when glaring details continue to throw me off as I’m reading then I’m not going to enjoy the story as much. I still adored both Finn and Sebastian. I loved how they managed through upsets and talked about things. Well, except for the one time, and I think Finn should have known immediately, not when Sebastian decided to tell him. So there. 😆
I enjoyed reading this book. I love the two main characters, so it was great getting to read more of their story. Again, zero-low-angst. I think one of the things I've really liked about this duet is that there aren't the typical miscommunication or misunderstandings that lead to angst. Instead, we have two emotionally mature, level-headed adults, which is quite refreshing.
I did have a difficult time processing one development. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't say what is was, but it's jolting. I understand why it happens, but I'm left with questions about why alternative solutions weren't explored before the final solution.
In any case, I have enjoyed this duet. I read both books in a 24-hour period. I couldn't put it down.
The plot was good, however, I was disappointed by the delivery. It read like a YouTube story. It contained repetitive narratives that were frustrating as if the reader hadn’t caught it the first few times. Take out the repetition and the story would have been half as long.
I did enjoy the plot of both books.
Note: Sebastian’s personal assistant did not change they just changed her name in the book.
This is the second part of the story of Fin and Sebastian. It’s a tale of growth and the development of a sustainable relationship that forms a family. Purchased both books. Couldn’t put it down and I will definitely keep both books on my read again list. Absolutely recommended.
Finn has officially been inducted into my Top 10 favorite characters written into existence! That man has moxie! This took me on an emotional journey I hadn't prepared myself for, but I'm extremely glad I went on. Well done, River!
Without spoiling anything…that never would’ve been that smooth. But also, did I miss why Leslie morphed into Margaret? Where did Leslie go? Where did Margaret come from? That bothered me the entire time.
Finn deserved everything Sebastian gave him! He didn't conform to the Sebastian status, he did things his way! This was such a beautiful series. Such a feel good book. I loved this book!!
This was fast and sweet. Not a lot of character or story depth zero world building but I think that is part of this duology's charm. Also glad it is a KU read.
