This is my first book by T. Rushton; and I’ll definitely be reading more of their works!

Break for Me is a taboo Student x professor romance with dark themes of past trauma, and facing an abuser.

It’s Ivy’s first time being away from her crappy life including her abusive brother. Early into her first few days on campus she makes a terrible first impression with Professor Gabriel Valemont. Once class starts, her impression doesn’t get much better.

I found that the romance between Ivy and Gabriel seemed to escalate quickly; I wish there was a little more build, and yearning between the two characters.

During the length of their new relationship, other women have come forward making claims of Ivy’s brother’s abuse and she decides to take action against him as well. Besides the storyline with Ivy’s brother, it’s revealed that there is more going on in Gabriel’s life and his past.

Overall I was impressed with the plot and story line. I cannot wait for the next book to learn more about the storyline!

**I received an advanced reader copy of the digital book in exchange for an honest review.

Love this book! It’s a fast paced read which are my fav and I love the emotional depth too it, it’s not always something you get when you read spicy books but this one is amazing! I love each characters and the instant chemistry between the two, plus her best friend Mel is such an amazing human and Ivy is so lucky to have her. And I love how Gabriel is supportive of her and never judges her on her past. But lord do I need the second book ASAP!

Honestly, I feel this is worth more than 3 🌟 but not quite 4
Ivy's story started off strong running from an abusive household to make a better life for herself. However, after that everything sort of happened very quickly and perfectly lacking any sort of depth and exploring the sensitive matters of her abuse and inner struggles with the taboo student x professor aspect.
There was a lot to like, and an enjoyable easy read with good spice. It was just a bit too easy of a read for me

I liked the tropes and the context, however for me it felt a bit rushed. I feel like a few more slower chapters, or some more interaction between the MCs before the heat would’ve been better. But if you want a spicy, forbidden romance, I recommend this book.

I received a free copy of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving a review in which is completely on my own.

The book started off really strong. I was interested on Ivy’s journey as she left her abusive home and was going to start fresh. I even enjoyed the beginning of the MFC (Ivy) and MMC (Gabriel)’s meeting up. However after a couple chapters in is where it lost me. Their chemistry was very quick. It didn’t slowly progress into a relationship, not until in their relationship but it was with the spiciness of it.

There was a lot to enjoy, good emotions during it. The authors writing is amazing and I was able to keep up with the read. I look forward to still read the other books in this series!

This was a book that was done well. It definitely has some potential triggers in it but the book flowed at a nice pace and left on a cliffhanger. I enjoyed it.

On the odd occasion the universe turns a 10 minute doom scroll into an amazing opportunity. A few weeks later here I am reviewing that opportunity.
T. Rushton very kindly agreed to send me an ARC copy of her upcoming novel ‘Break For Me’ which is due to be released on the 1st August and I honestly devoured it in one sitting.
The story itself was very well and paced and kept me engaged. It ladened with heavy topics so check the trigger warnings, but what I can say is they are written respectfully thoughtfully and without being overwhelming. If anything they help you better connect with the characters and the story line.
Ivory (Ivy) was such a strong character, who carried the weight of intense trauma. I adored the relationship between Ivy and her best friend Melody (Mel). She was the kind of best friend we all need in life, the one that’s there to support you, love you but who will also call you out for having split ends 😂
Then we have Professor Gabriel Valemont. The grumpy, borderline rude but very addictive MMC and Professor. I wasn’t sure how his character was going to develop but the second he 💦in his pants thinking about Ivy, I knew I was going to warm to him haha.
The story is so well balanced. The delicate line between the romance and the bigger story of Ivy seeking justice for the abuse she has suffered. I was completely rooting for her and all the characters throughout this story and was left reeling with the ending. After reading and re-reading the last few sentences more times than I’d care to admit, I resigned myself to having to impatiently await book 2.

Favourite Quotes:
“Tell me I don’t have a claim over you again, and I swear, Ivory, I will bend you over right here and spank you until you can’t think”.
“But Ivory isn’t just someone. She is everything”.

The quote that hit the hardest:
“But at least when I was there, I wasn’t scared. I knew what to expect, I knew what was going to happen. Now everything is left to risk; I’m living in the moment because I don’t know if it will be my last.”

Thank you so much T. Rushton for this opportunity.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC copy of Break for Me. My review is completely my own.

This book started off really strong. It follows Ivory, whose home life is incredibly traumatic, as she finally breaks away and starts building a life for herself. I was completely invested in her journey and loved watching her begin to find a sense of safety and independence.

Where the book started to lose me was the romance. Unfortunately, the chemistry between the two main characters felt forced rather than organic. Given everything Ivory had been through, I found it difficult to believe how quickly their relationship developed. I'm generally not a fan of insta-love unless we're diving into the pitch-black, stalker romance territory, and this wasn't quite that. Because of that, I struggled to connect with their relationship.

That being said, I really enjoyed T. Rushton's writing style. It was easy to read, kept me turning the pages, and... damn, T, you know how to write a spicy scene. 😏

While the second half didn't quite hit the same highs as the beginning for me, there was still a lot to enjoy. The premise was fantastic, and I can definitely see this working well for readers who love fast-paced romance and don't mind an insta-love storyline.

Overall, this one had a lot of potential, and although the second half didn't quite work for me, there was still plenty to enjoy.

Book 1 of Broken In Love Trilogy. And a wonderful start it is! Look forward to more from this world.

'Can she ignore her feelings and create the life that she's always wanted for herself? Or will she break for him, and risk everything?'

The characters were very complex and complicated and compelling. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and expertly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!.

Advanced copy received from BookSprout and this is my honest review.

This book started extremely strong, however I felt that it became quite fast paced once the relationship began. I do like the cliffhanger though and can't wait to read the next installment. Spice levels were good and triggers/trauma were explored well!

And, it’s like nothing your first impression might make you believe. The storyline delves into the taboo topic of an attraction/relationship developing between a student and a teacher. Though, if they’re two consenting adults, should it be any body else’s business but their own anyways? Absolutely enjoyed how this storyline progressed.

This book was written beautifully in a way that allows for heavy topics to be written about respectfully. I was fortunately able to read this early and I loved it!

Arc Review. Definitely read the trigger warnings before reading this. There Is some Intense family trauma, so be prepared. But Ivory and Gabriel form a deep connection through her healing. Love the academic setting. This Is a planned trilogy, and I need the next two books right now. It ends on a cliffhanger.
