This book does a great job of getting you thinking about the act of anchoring - the "where" and "how" of anchoring, safety considerations while at anchor and gets you into a "land and other boats around you are not your friend" mode. I read this book during a three week sail in the Bahamas, and could see the results immediately in my approach to anchoring. Fatty takes on the subjects of gear, choosing the right anchor and tackle in a way that looks at all angles, while not specifically shoving his choices down your throat (although once you read his time-tested logic, you'll probably mirror his choices). A great read, plenty of his welcome humor and stories to break it up and keep you in the book. Enjoy, and be rewarded by being an even better boater after reading the book.
So much more than a How-to! Fatty tells all and doesn't hold back on his own embarrassing anchoring moments. If you want staight talk on anchors and anchor gear-what to spend your precious freedom chips on-this is the book for you.
