Gracie and Cutler! Eek! I loved these two as kids and was so excited to get their own book. From the very beginning, Cutler knew Gracie was his girl. They’ve been the very best of friends since they were kids, but now things are changing.
Gracie gets back from Paris and is staying with Cutler for the summer. He’s ecstatic to have his best friend back, but things go from friendship to more. Gracie and Cutler adjust to the change, and as they do, Gracie is moving on to her next job. Of course, neither of them really wants her to go, but she has to spread her wings and figure things out.
I loved how sweet and swoony this one was. It had so much romance and a great big romantic gesture. Cutler and Gracie were the best together, and I loved meeting some of the other characters of Blue Sky Bay, as well as getting to see some of my favorite couples (Gracie and Cutler’s parents) from Pavlov’s previous books. This one was a win for me and a great start to a new series!

I am officially in my Laura Pavlov era because this book completely hooked me. I went into My Forever Girl as a Laura Pavlov newbie I’ve only read one other of her books and now I fully understand the obsession. She is definitely moving up my list of favorite authors. This was such a heartfelt, emotional friends-to-lovers romance with so much longing and tension woven through every scene.
Cutler and Gracie’s history made the romance feel so real and layered. You could feel how much they meant to each other long before either of them fully admitted it, and that kind of slow-building emotional payoff is my favorite. Add in the small town vibes, the angst, the chemistry, and the absolutely swoony romance and I could not put this down.
It was sexy, emotional, comforting, and honestly just the kind of love story that makes you immediately want to binge an author’s entire backlist which I plan on doing!
It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a Laura Pavlov book, but this one absolutely stole my heart! I have loooved watching Gracie & Cutler growing up through other books & I was so happy to finally have their own story!!
This book was amazing! Childhood friends to lovers & probably one of my favorite I’ve ever read! Their relationship is one that is just so perfect! The history between them, the chemistry, and the swooning that came with it all! Cutler!! The man he is! Down bad & always showing up for Gracie!! & Gracie is so lovable and just such a ray of sunshine. The way she knows him inside & out!! To see these two navigate their friendship & the changes they were feeling, just melted my heart and gave me all the feels! The tension, the banter, the CHEMISTRY!! & did someone say spicy lessons?! yess please 🥵🔥
Laura truly knocked this one out of the park & did a fantastic job with this story!! The found family/ friend group is amazing!! I loved it so much and cannot wait for more from this series & the other characters!
Let’s face it if Laura Pavlov writes it, this girl is reading it !!
This book gave me all the feels for a small town romance between best friends. I have not read the Magnolia Falls series yet so I am not clear on the connection there … yet!
I loved the connection between Gracie and Cutler and how their history added so much depth to their relationship. The banter was perfection also !
DNF 18% I didn't know that this was a "have my BFF teach me about sex" trope book or I wouldn't have picked it up. I dislike that trope. So, nothing wrong with the book per se, just not my current flavor of tea.
What a great start to a new series! I loved Culter and Gracie. Knowing how Culter was as a kid in the other books and how he said that he was going to marry Gracie was the cutest and I was so excited for them to be grown up and get their own book!
Their story was so cute! I love them together and I loved how they have been best friends since they were 5 years old 🥹 I will say that I don’t know why one of the tropes advertised was forbidden romance, I don’t see it as forbidden.
Anyway, Culter was such a sweet and sexy and supportive MMC. He really supported Gracie no matter what she wanted, he would literally do anything for her.
Gracie was a good FMC, she was this sweet girl with not a lot of experience when it comes it comes to being intimate. So who better to teach her than Cutler? 😏
I thought they were a perfect fit, they had great chemistry, which is what I would hope for being they have been best friends all their lives. There was some good tension, I wanted a little more tension though, but it was still there. They both had great character growth and Gracie really found herself and it was nice to see good things happen for her. I am excited to read Bass’s story and the rest of this series!
I love me some Laura Pavlov! This book was perfection! I ate this up and left no crumbs could not put it down. This is the best childhood friends to lovers that I have ever read. It was done perfectly!
I’m so in love with Cutler and Gracie. Cutler Heart the man that you are😍😭I loved their story and the way he always put her first no matter what. You could just feel their chemistry and connection. They had an undeniable connection. It was the perfect amount of spice to plot. I loved all the side characters and the found family. I can’t wait to go back and read the series before this one. I also can’t wait for the next book🤭 My fav Laura Pavlov book so far!
Thank you so much to Laura and Valentine PR for this advanced copy. This releases on 6/2 highly recommended this one!
5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Childhood friends to lovers Small town Forbidden Forced proximity
LAURA!!! What 🫠 This book was absolutely phenomenal. This darling best friends to lovers romance was done so perfectly I’m at a loss for words. I genuinely can’t think of another time I’ve loved this trope this much. I had such a great time listening to the ALC and halfway through immediately preordered a physical copy because I was that obsessed.
This was spicy and so flirty but it never once took away from the story. I’m so in love with these characters and their relationship.
The audio was freaking chefs kiss. The production and narrators were absolutely on point and made the whole experience even better.
Thank you Laura Pavlov & Valentine PR for the ALC. I’m so honored to have had the opportunity to receive it!
Laura Pavlov truly is the queen of small town romance, and My Forever Girl was absolutely everything I wanted from Cutler and Gracie’s story.
This childhood friends to lovers romance gave me ALL the feelings. The friendship between Gracie and Cutler was so genuine, comforting, and beautifully built that you could feel the love between them long before either of them admitted it. Their bond, the history they shared, the way he always showed up for her… it was perfection.
And CUTLER. Our beloved “Beefcake” absolutely lived up to every bit of the hype from Magnolia Falls. Adult Beefcake? Obsessed. Watching him realize Gracie was always it for him and then fight for their forever had me smiling nonstop.
I also loved how supportive he was of Gracie’s dreams. He loved her enough to let her go grow into herself, but also knew when it was time to stop standing back and fight for the life they truly wanted together.
Laura Pavlov completely nailed this second generation romance. Sweet, emotional, sexy, heartfelt, and packed with the kind of epic friendship that turns into forever love. My face literally hurt from smiling by the end. A perfect HEA and an incredible start to the Blue Sky Bay series.
okay yeah… i officially get the laura pavlov obsession now because this book completely owned me 😭
my forever girl was everything i love in a romance — emotional history, aching longing, small town vibes, tension that builds so naturally, and a man who has been gone for his girl for YEARS.
cutler and gracie felt so real together. the kind of relationship where you can feel the love underneath every conversation, every look, every moment they try to pretend things haven’t changed. the emotional payoff in this book was SO good because of how much history they share.
and CUTLER HEART… oh this man 😮💨 protective, loyal, obsessed in the quiet “i’d do literally anything for her” kind of way. he notices everything about gracie, always shows up for her, and somehow manages to be both comforting and ridiculously sexy at the same time.
gracie was impossible not to love too. sunshiney, lovable, emotional, and the one person who truly knows cutler inside and out. watching them slowly shift from best friends into something deeper genuinely melted my heart.
the chemistry is insane. the banter is perfect. the tension and spicy lessons are an absolute Y E S 🥵
and the found family/friend group vibes made this feel so warm and addictive. this is one of those books that makes you immediately want to binge an author’s entire backlist the second you finish.

4.25 stars · Small‑Town Romance · Childhood Best Friends · Blue Sky Bay
Childhood best friends to lovers, this was such a warm, addictive start to the series. After a year abroad, Gracie comes home for the summer a little shaken by the douche she’d been dating, and Cutler steps in pretty quickly to remind her exactly what she deserves.
Their chemistry is so easy to root for, and the spicy‑lessons trope is one I’ll almost always eat up. I also loved the history and comfort between them, you can genuinely feel that lifelong friendship sitting underneath the romance.
I was so excited to finally get Cutler and Gracie’s story after first meeting him in Laura Pavlov’s previous series, and this honestly gave me exactly what I wanted: sweet, flirty, emotional, and full of the addictive small‑town romance vibe she writes so well.
Such a strong start to the Blue Sky Bay series, and I’m already excited for the next book.
Thank you so much to Laura Pavlov and Valentine PR for the gifted ARC - all opinions are my own.

**ALC REVIEW** My Forever Girl by Laura Pavlov Release Date: 6/2
🎧Narrated in DUET by Connor Crais & Savannah Peachwood. I feel like they really captured the need & longing between Cutler and Gracie, as well as the quiet moments that come from being completely comfortable with someone and being known.
Gracie and Cutler have been best friends since childhood. When she comes back home to stay with him after a failed relationship in Paris, Cutler is thrilled to have “his girl” back and all to himself for a while. He’s a contractor, she’s an interior designer, and they work together like a dream! When Gracie drunkenly admits to Cutler that she's lacking in sexual experience & *O*s, he is more than willing to help her out. (Insert *I volunteer as tribute* meme here.) But they don't want to ruin the friendship, so it'll be “Just this once” & they won't go all the way. (Spoiler alert: It’s not just once!) Their friendship is so deep, and they’re HOT together, so feelings are sure to get muddled. But Gracie has her dream job in NYC waiting for her, and Cutler loves her too much to stand in the way of her dreams. *swoon* So, what happens when you’re in love with your best friend but can’t be together without one of you forfeiting your dreams?
4.5⭐ 2.5🌶️
I received an early copy of this audiobook for review, and these are my honest thoughts. Thank you to Author Laura Pavlov & Valentine PR for the ALC!
4.5⭐️ | 2🌶 This entire book was pure nostalgia for both Gracie and Cutler's books as kids and I loved every second. I loved that they got their HEA because there's no one better for other one of them. The Magnolia Falls easter eggs had me tearing up. I love this world so much already and can't wait for book 2. Thank you to Laura & team for the arc
My Forever Girl by Laura Pavlov is book one in the Blue Sky Bay series. This is Cutler’s (aka Beefcake 😏) story. We first met him in the Magnolia Falls series and the Rosewood River series, and Gracie is from the Cottonwood Cove series.
What can you expect? 🏡 Small-town romance 👫 Friends to lovers 🚪 Forced proximity 🏠 Roommates 📚 Lessons 🚫 Forbidden vibes 👶 Childhood besties 💘 Hero obsessed
4.25 ⭐ | 3 🌶️
We’ve been patiently waiting for Beefcake’s book, and it’s finally here. At first, it felt a little strange reading him as an adult; my mind still saw him as the kid we met in earlier books. But that quickly faded because Cutler is everything.
Cutler and Gracie have been best friends since childhood, and he’s always claimed she was “his girl” and that she’d marry him one day. He dates, but never seriously, because deep down, he’s never wanted anything that isn’t her.
They’ve always been inseparable, until Gracie leaves for Paris. Things haven’t been easy for her, so when she returns, Cutler suggests she stay with him for a couple of months before starting her new job in New York.
That’s when everything starts to shift between them. Gracie eventually asks him for “lessons” after her ex made her feel inadequate, and although Cutler (or Bear, as she calls him 🐻) is hesitant, they agree. What starts as innocent turns into blurred lines, and soon they transition into a friends-with-benefits situation while she’s still there.
And the funniest part? Everyone else sees what’s happening… except them. They’re both completely in love and absolutely clueless about it.
In my opinion, this is one of Laura Pavlov’s spiciest books. Cutler has a very dirty mouth, and the way that man talks? OMG. Those lessons were not playing. Things escalate fast, and the chemistry is off the charts.
I also loved seeing Cutler thriving in his business and how he gave Gracie (or “Jeje” as he calls her) a job as an interior designer while she was between jobs.
Gracie is focused on getting to New York after her last plan fell apart, determined to prove herself. She’s lost some confidence, but being back with her best friend helps her rebuild it, personally and professionally. Still, at one point, I wanted to shake her because she had made such an immature decision, despite knowing exactly how Cutler felt.
They also adopt a dog, Meatball 🐶, so Cutler has some company while she’s away. Gracie isn’t sure what her next step is, but Cutler is completely certain: he wants her—his forever girl.
I loved how everything came together for them. Cutler’s “player” reputation is also explained through a past traumatic experience, which made his character feel even more layered. Meanwhile, Gracie finally finds her direction and confidence again.
One of the funniest moments was that weekend with their parents and the girl they tried to set Cutler up with… she was absolutely unhinged.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. It was so nice seeing their families again and how naturally Cutler and Gracie fit together. They truly knew each other inside and out, and it showed in every moment of their relationship.
That epilogue? Perfect. I love this series already, and I cannot wait to see what Laura Pavlov gives us next.
Thank you to Laura and Valentine PR for the ARC. This review reflects my honest thoughts.
If Laura writes it, I’m reading it with no questions asked. And finally getting the full Beefcake story after growing up with him through previous books? What an incredible full-circle moment. Watching the little boy we met years ago grow into the man he is today felt so special, and Laura absolutely delivered with Cutler’s story. We’ve all known him as Beefcake, but getting the softer side of him as “Bear,” the nickname given to him by his childhood best friend, somehow made me love him even more.
Childhood friends-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and this might honestly be one of the best versions I’ve ever read. The history between Gracie and Cutler made every moment hit harder. Their chemistry was effortless, their friendship felt authentic, and the swoon factor? Off the charts.
And CUTLER. This man. Contractor by day, obsessed-with-his-best-friend by always. Pair him with Gracie, an interior designer, and they work together like an absolute dream. When Gracie drunkenly admits she’s lacking in experience — and O’s — Cutler is more than willing to step in and help. Of course, they promise it’ll be “just this once” and they definitely won’t ruin the friendship or go all the way… because romance readers know how that goes.
My Forever Girl had me completely in my feelings. We first met Cutler when he was five years old, so getting to watch him fall in love with his best friend felt incredibly emotional. Adult Cutler? Absolutely everything. Supportive, swoony, patient, and so deeply in love that it practically poured off the page.
I also loved seeing familiar faces from previous series while being introduced to an entirely new found family that I’m already attached to. Blue Sky Bay completely won me over, and watching Gracie and Cutler reconnect, work together, and figure out what forever looks like made me even more invested in this world. I was definitely catching hints about future couples, and I’m already ready for whatever comes next. This series is going to have me in a chokehold.
My Forever Girl was so sweet and swoony! It was the perfect combination of entertaining and emotional with just the right amount of spice blended in, and it made for a wonderful friends-to-lovers romance. I loved Gracie and Cutler, their friend group, and the small town of Blue Sky Bay. It was a fun read full of great moments that had me smiling.
I enjoyed learning all about Gracie and Cutler and their deep-rooted friendship. I loved how Cutler was there for her after a bad breakup and how she was determined to get her life back on track. I liked the build as their attraction grew and how they started to see each other in a new light beyond friendship. I loved the pull between them, the bits of jealousy, and how they decided to move to a friends-with-benefits situation and why. It was fun and steamy!
I liked learning all about the small town and Cutler and Gracie's friend group. I liked Cutler’s buddies and am excited for their stories. There were a lot of witty moments mixed in when their parents became involved that I enjoyed. There was a large cast of characters mentioned from other series, and I did get a bit confused about who was who, but I just rolled with it because I was having such a good time reading it.
Overall, I thought this was a light, super entertaining story with just the right amount of heat added. It was low angst, which I really liked, sometimes those just hit the spot. It was filled with goodness and humor, emotion, and likeable characters. This was my first time reading this author, and it won’t be my last. Can’t wait for the next one!
This was my first book by Laura Pavlov and honestly I loved it, I can't wait to read more! I also went into this blind and didn't realise it was a second generation book so I'm excited to start from the beginning.
Again, I went into this blind and I didn't realise it was friends to lovers which made me a little nervous because honestly friends to lovers isn't always my favourite but I literally devoured this. Cutler & Gracie just have the most special friendship and you could literally feel their connection straight away.
Cutler is just the most perfect book boyfriend. I adore the way he puts Gracie first and supports her with her dreams and regaining her confidence. That man is down bad and he would literally do anything for her, I'm obsessed. I also loved Gracie, I loved seeing her grow and her confidence build throughout the book.
Also the small town and found family vibes in this book are so perfect. Two of my favourite tropes and honestly it didn't disappoint at all.
I can't wait to continue this series and also read some of Laura's other books as well.
✨ Childhood friends to lovers ✨ Found family ✨ Small town ✨ Roommates ✨ Spicy Lessons
This is possibly Laura Pavlov’s smuttiest book yet. I’m not upset about it! It was just heavily centered around one of my least favorite spicy tropes so that’s the reason for the lower rating. But don’t get me wrong, I loved this book.
I loved Beefcake in the Rosewood River series so this was one I was looking forward to. My biggest issue is that I don’t love books with the whole “spicy lessons” trope. It’s just a personal thing. Our FMC has only been in three serious relationships and unfortunately they have been with major douchebags. Her most recent relationship was with an older man who ended up cheating on her and also told her she didn’t know how to “deliver” in the bedroom… yuck. So she enlists her long time best friend, Cutler, as someone to test her skills on and teach her some things…
However; Laura’s books always deliver on the strong character development, cute small town feels, spicy scenes and happily ever afters.
Thank you Valentine PR and Laura Pavlov for the eARC!
My Forever Girl felt like such a satisfying start to a brand new series while still giving longtime Laura Pavlov readers all the little moments and cameos we love. Gracie and Cutler already had such a deep foundation built on years of friendship, family ties, loyalty, and history that their romance felt incredibly believable from the very beginning.
Cutler is the kind of hero that quietly sneaks up on you too — supportive, patient, protective, and fully in Gracie’s corner while she figures out what she wants for herself. Watching Gracie grow into herself while their relationship naturally evolved made this one feel extra swoony.
Add in: ✨ small town vibes ✨ best friends to lovers ✨ forced proximity ✨ emotional history ✨ spicy chemistry ✨ grand gestures
…and this was basically small town romance comfort food for me. There’s just something about a lifelong friendship turning into that kind of love 🥹💘
I’m already excited to spend more time in this town and get to know Cutler’s friend group because the setup for future books was SO good.
I finally read my first Laura Pavlov book and now I totally get the hype. I’ve been wanting to read her books for the longest time, and while it took me a little bit to fully get into this one (definitely think that was a mood reader issue 😅), once I got further in, the story and characters really started to grow on me.
Even though you don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one, I definitely found myself wishing I had because it felt like there were so many little backstories and character connections that made me curious to know more.
One thing I really connected with was the friendship dynamic. My husband and I were actually best friends for a few years before anything romantic ever happened between us, so some of Gracie and Cutler’s conversations and thoughts felt really relatable to me. 🥹 Also… the spice was absolutely spiceing!🌶️😮💨
Overall, I really enjoyed Gracie and Cutler’s story and now I’m even more excited to dive into more books by Laura Pavlov!
Cutler and Gracie have been friends since they were 5. There’s never been any romantic inclinations until now.
Gracie has just returned from a disastrous move to Paris where her relationship and her career aspirations didn’t work out. Cutler steps in to save the day and gets involved in helping Gracie work out her sex life. One thing leads to another and they end up in a friends with benefits situation. Their time together has an expiry date as Gracie is moving to NY to get her design mojo back.
Both of them need to figure out what they want and how to make it happen to ensure a HEA.
I really enjoyed this first book in the new Blue Sky Bay series. I liked the snippets of the other characters and will definitely keep reading this series and look to read more from this author.
He still is the beefcake we came to know and love but oh my gosh did he about break my heart. I cried, and yearned for their relationship.
Seeing two of my favorite people come together in this epic romance was everything I didn’t know I needed.
This is definitely a book I will read numerous times. Everything about this book just made me feel good. Laura always knocks it out of the park with her friends to lovers books and this one definitely did not disappoint. I loved getting to see snippets from some of my favorite books in the past. Laura absolutely knocked it out of the park with them and I can’t wait to read the rest of this group🥹
Beefcake (Cutler Heart) finally gets his story and it was everything you could want for him and Gracie girl.
Such a sweet childhood best friends to lovers story. The two of them have been absolute besties since they were 5 years old. They were always bound to end up together but the timing was never right and they didn’t realize the enormity of their feelings. Watching them fall head over heels in love was the sweetest thing to witness.
This was a great way to start off this new series. Laura will always be the small town romance queen in my opinion and this book solidifies that. Seeing the ROD men again, in all their glory was one of my favorite parts.
So many swoon worthy moments and my heart is so full after this one. Cutler and Gracie are the definition of soulmates and this book had all of the sweetest vibes you could want.
What to expect: Friends to lovers Forced proximity Small town Spicy lessons Forbidden Found family
I loved this book so much!! If Laura writes it, I am reading it!
Friends to lovers trope has never been done so well in my opinion. I have loved Cutler since the Magnolia series, so I was geeked to finally get his story, and Laura did it disappoint. Cutler and Gracie’s relationship felt so real. The spicy, and flirting in this book was so good.
The small town romance is the perfect setting that just gives you the cozy vibes. Thank you so much Laura and Valentine PR for the ARC.
I loved finally getting to see Beefcake get the girl! Grace was the perfect match for him, and their relationship was friends-to-lovers perfection. I also loved seeing the dads from The Single Dad Playbook make appearances throughout the story.
Grace's career as a home designer was such a fun and unique touch, and one line that had me cackling was, "Holy eggplant emoji."
This was such a cute, feel-good romance with great chemistry and lovable characters. I can't wait to continue this series.
4.5⭐️ We finally got a Beefcake’s, AKA Cutler) story and it did not disappoint! This was the sweetest childhood friends to lovers and I loved every minute of it. Gracie and Cutler have been best friends since childhood. They have never crossed the friendship line but Gracie is back home and lines get blurred quickly. Cutler is the resident ladies man and Gracie is hoping a friends with benefits situation will help get her out of a relationship slump. It sounds like a good idea at first until they both realize how real their feelings are for one another. Cutler has always been such an amazing side character in the Magnolia Falls series and I loved getting to see him as an adult. He was so down bad for Gracie, even before he could admit it to himself. They had amazing chemistry and banter. They are the epitome of soul mates and I loved them together. I also loved all of Cutler’s friends and they had the best text exchanges! I can’t wait to see more from Blue Sky Bay!
Thank you Laura for the arc!
Read if you love ✨childhood friends to lovers ✨forced proximity ✨small town ✨spicy lessons ✨forbidden ✨found family
The full circle moment we all needed for our very special BeefCake & Gracie 🥰 All grown up, living their lives but still the best of friends. Nothing can tear them apart! When Gracie goes through a bad breakup and wants to move back home from Paris, obviously her first call is to Cutler! Ready to move Gracie into his home and give her the interior design job she is craving, Cutler is the knight in shining armor! With all this close proximity, temptation is bound to arise 🤭
The merging of these families is everything we wanted and more! Truly, about time!! All the cameos from our favorite characters and getting everyone together was so special. I never want to leave this family dynamic! My obsession with Cutler Heart will live on until the end of time 🫶🏻
