"he felt like a gift I couldn't repay or reciprocate. Maybe someday I'd find a way."There were elements in the story I was less keen on that made it not quite the 5-star read that book one was, specifically the way surrogate Freya behaves early on in the book, which is how Dexter and Viggo come into each other's orbits, and both men's relationships with their families...but overall it was still a sweet, slow-building but without too much angst story, and frankly I could have done with another 3 or 4 chapters before the epilogue! The whole town continues to be peppered with characters that leave you yearning for more, so I'm happy book 3 is already on the way.
"I figured I could do it on my own, and if necessary, I will. But the thing is…you feel like family, like home, like everything I’d ever hoped for but wasn’t sure I’d find. Somehow, I found you, Viggo. Or you found me. And I love you so much, and there’s no one I’d rather grow old with."
