A Fate Worse Than Death

Rate this book
An evil has arisen at the Estate and now Persia must uncover the truth behind the forgetfulness curse and assassinations happening in her own home.

Persia is the daughter of a duke, living the life that is expected of her, but when servants start being killed, she must discover who is behind their deaths. Her Father is not preoccupied as he judges Persia insane for believing she knew the people that died, and he will do nothing to prevent these murders. Having to solve the mystery alone to protect her family, Persia is forced to break the ‘perfect daughter’ image and act on her Father’s back to not only discover the reason of the deaths but also understand why she is the only one that can remember the servants. Soon, she realizes the evil comes from within, that the Estate reeks of death… and betrayal.

About the author

Alice Granger

Alice Granger is a multi-genre author who loves to write fantasy, thrillers and romance. While love is a common aspect of her books – who doesn’t love a good love story – she likes to focus on philosophical themes such as time, life and death, always with a hint of action and suspense. Even though her writing is often considered poetical, you will find darker elements being explored in her novels, critics and mental-health representation: a topic she feels strongly about. Alice’s passion for literature—both reading and writing—has been part of her since a young age; and at only eight years old, Alice wrote her first short book heavily inspired by a well-known novel. She kept writing books through the years, but it was only at seventeen when she self-published her debut novel. When Alice is not writing, you can find her cuddled up with her cats, playing a videogame or deciding she wants to start a new hobby.

You want murder mystery with a spark of magic?
You're in the right place!
This story will keep you in suspans from start to
finish and right when you think
you have it all figured out it will prove you wrong!
I LOVED the main character. She was strong enough to
stand her point in a time where that would've been
hard for someone like her and she made sure
evreryone was safe and protected.
She took in so many responsibilities
that should've not been on her shoulders and I ended
up feeling like a proud mother!

Thank you NookandFableMedia and author Alice Granger for allowing me to be part of the ARC team for A Fate Worse Than Death.

This is a great story for all Fantasy Thriller fans, as well as fans of forbidden romance, Gods and family secrets.

At the beginning is was just as confused the the FMC and it was a brilliant to go through the journey with her.

Release day is 15th June 2026, don't miss out!

ARC review

This was an incredible read! If you like your murder mystery with a side of magic then this is the book for you. I was hooked from the first page, and it kept me guessing from start to finish. I reached half way through and still had no clue who was responsible! I loved all the little details scattered here and there, that you have no idea will be important until later on in the book, and every character brought something important to the story. Highly recommend!
