This has so much potential. I really like the premise of the seller but it fell flat for me.
At the end of every chapter a light bulb goes off, she has figured yet another piece of the puzzle out. It was a bit repetitive and predictable at the half way point. I was ready to get on with the story and just finish the book really.
Something along the way started to feel a bit discombobulated. It wasn’t making sense. It seemed like a couple chapters may have been mixed? Something had happened that seemed like it wasn’t supposed happen yet. Like how did we get here? Then the next chapter went back to where we were before we got all mixed up. It was very weird.
I did not like how the story unfolded. I really wish the author went deeper into the missing week. I still like there were so many things missing. How the heck were alarms triggered. What made them go off? That part still does not make sense to me. How?!?!
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story begins with Lena, a journalist, waking up and discovering a bloody knife. She immediately begins checking her apartment to see if there is a dead body. Finding nothing, she then notices small things which has her wondering. After a while she discovers that somehow, she is missing what she did over the last seven days. Eventually she is visited by Everett, a therapist in the building, who offers an opinion of what happened. In addition she discovers a flip phone which has alarms set that correspond to a specific task. Lena then begins looking into what happened over those seven days and meets Gideon who joins her with her search.
Read along and learn what the two of them discovered and how this discovery impacted others. Learn who was responsible for Lena's memory loss and once she learned, how she understood why. Discover what happens in the end and what new course Lena and Gideon embark on.
The story kept my interest and I look forward to reading more. This is a book worth the read.
When Lena wakes that morning, she is in a daze and although she knows where she is, she doesn't know why she has a bloody knife in her grasp. This author had me page-turning, doubting what I had read so I had to verify many instances. Was this really happening, could it really happen? Most important of all, what comes next? The plotline is amazing and coming up with solutions to questions not yet asked is mind-blowing. I sincerely hope that Lena and Gideon get a chance to investigate what is hinted at. I received a copy and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Lena wakes with blood on her hands, mud on her shoes and a knife in her hand. With no recollection of how, why and when. A "concerned" neighbor appears offering to help her trace what happened Everette seems trustworthy and understanding to Lena. A fast paced, well-written storyline and believable characters will grab you. A great story, Very interesting.
