Review of advance copy received from Author

When I picked up The Constellations of Power as a free advance reader copy, I was not quite sure where the story would be going. After the first few pages, I assumed it would be a fairly typical YA coming-of-age novel, with a young heroine named Echo making friends and enemies in some kind of magical academy. But the book proved me wrong soon enough. After the opening chapters - which do indeed feature magic, a temple (instead of an academy) and combat training - the story shifts into full adventure mode, with fights, monsters, changing alliances, and a cast of genuinely fun characters.

Echo begins as a rather naive acolyte, someone who has fully absorbed the temple’s teachings that declare that the "starless" like her are meant to serve the noble Starborn. As the story develops, she gets pulled into intrigue and infighting among the Starborn and begins to question everything she has been taught. That character arc works well and gives the novel more depth than I had initially expected. The magic system is also unusual and interesting (although the magic might just be the remnant of some ancient technology - there were some sci-fi elements as well). It reminded me little bit of The Last Airbender, with its ritualized movements and elemental powers, though here the four elements are mixed with star signs, the zodiac, and powers that rise and fall as the dates and star constellations shift.

While the writing felt a little uneven in places, it was soon outweighed by the author's imagination and the pacing of the plot. Overall, this is an entertaining read that should be well received by the YA audience. With that in mind, my rating would be around 4.5 stars.

I take it as a sign from the stars, because this book was a really refreshing take on astrology, power, and indoctrination.

I enjoyed the smooth writing style and the way the story took its time to unfold. Echo’s obedience, determination, and inner conflict felt believable.

The magic system was well developed, with clear consequences, and the action scenes were exciting without overshadowing the plot.

I also enjoyed the diverse cast, the clever choice of names, and the excerpts from the Temple’s writings, which added additional depth to the world. The glossary was incredibly helpful and made it easier to follow the many terms and concepts.

There were a few aspects I wished had been explored further. With such a large cast, I would have loved more physical descriptions to picture characters and locations more clearly. Some situations also felt a little too easy when people followed Echo’s suggestions. I was fascinated by the astrology-based world and would have loved to learn more about the role of astrology beyond the Zodiac signs. But since this is the first book in a series, there will be more information in the future.

Overall, this was an imaginative fantasy with a unique concept, surprising twists, and an interesting exploration of faith, control, and identity.

I definitely recommend this book!

I was able to get the e book arc through @netgalley by victory editing.

I would to thank victory editing on letting me read this arc, this was a book I was so intrigue to read after reading its premise.

I absolutely had fun reading this book.
This book literally had it all; scifi futuristic technology, dystopian ruled by stars, epic fantasy adventure, political intrigue and Greek insipried world and zodaic based religion, elemental magic.

The world building using Greek methodology and the mix of scifi high technology added in the plot really it gave it strength of the few and will of the many vibes which I loved.

The use of zodiac signs and the stars really made the plot so unique and interesting to read.
I really loved the writing of the authors so easy to understand and really created a detailed of world ruled by stars and made it so easy to understand when reading the book.
I did adore the characters in this book of course echo and chalice bound was really special to see.
As well as, getting to see the relationships and friendships echo developed with other characters that she came across in the books such as; Ariesa echo’s patron she had to serve, tide, justice and etc.
Loved to see the love scenes between echo and other characters really made it interesting to see how they developed.

Going into this book, I expected a fairly typical YA fantasy, but it quickly became so much more. What starts as a story about a young priestess devoted to her faith evolves into an adventure filled with intrigue, shifting alliances, dangerous secrets, and a fascinating zodiac-inspired magic system.

If you enjoy stories like The Hunger Games, Red Rising, coming-of-age adventures, unique magic systems, and high-stakes fantasy with a touch of romance, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.

I really enjoyed The Constellations of Power. The world blends fantasy, astrology, and hints of science fiction in a way that feels fresh and different from most YA novels. The zodiac-inspired power system was easily my favorite part of the book, adding an extra layer of depth to both the worldbuilding and the conflicts.

Echo is an easy character to root for, and I liked watching her challenge the rigid social structure she grew up believing in. The story steadily expands beyond its initial setup, introducing larger stakes, political tensions, and plenty of action along the way.

I was very fortunate to be given an ARC of this book.
The world building and magic system in this book were beautifully written, i particularly enjoyed the combination of elemental/zodiac influences. The character development was satisfying and I thought Echos journey through the story was interestingly done, her views changing and developing as the story developed clever. I would definitely recommend picking this book up if you are looking for a new fantasy world to become obsessed with!
