↪ ↪ Who doesn’t love a good dark romance thriller with serial killer vibes?! What pulled me into this book the most was honestly the mystery and suspense. From the very beginning, it gave me Dexter and Criminal Minds vibes, and I genuinely could not put it down😭. I also loved how well the author balanced the romance with the thriller plot, because the mystery actually felt important to the story instead of just being there to create tension… and this book did that perfectly.
🕵🏽♀️💗⤿Profiler/Professor: Safia Hadid Safia was such an interesting FMC to follow because she’s emotionally vulnerable, stubbornly independent, and honestly kind of grumpy. She doesn’t immediately fall at Theo’s feet, and I loved that about her. Even when she’s struggling, she still pushes herself to stay strong and figure things out on her own.
🖤👮♂️⤿ FBI agent: Theodore Kane Theo was INSANE in the best way possible 💀. He was possessive, protective, intimidating, and completely obsessed with Safia….😭The mouth on this man is actually insane!!🥵 He comes off as cold and dangerous, but once Safia gets close to him, you start seeing how deeply devoted he actually is. And the chemistry between them??? Absolutely EVERYTHING 🫠🥵
🔪 The mystery aspect was honestly one of my favorite parts. I figured out who the killer was pretty early on and suspected it before Safia did💀, but somehow that made the story even more addictive because I was just waiting to see how everything would unfold. And even when the reveal finally happened, I was STILL shocked 🤯. The profiling details, investigation scenes, and psychological tension made everything feel so immersive and suspenseful.
🤍 The side characters!!! Amir was genuinely one of my favorites 😭. He added so much personality and humor to such a heavy story. I also loved his interactions with Gigi — I was giggling and kicking my feet whenever they appeared 🥲. I REALLY hope the author is hinting at their story being next because I would absolutely devour it.
Overall, this was SUCH a good dark romance thriller. Definitely not a soft, fluffy romance at all. But if you love dark romance with mystery, suspense, serial killer investigations, and an obsessed MMC… Nightfall fits this perfectly.
ℛ𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5⭐️ 𝒮𝓅𝒾𝒸ℯ ℛ𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5🌶️ ———————— ✨𝒯ℛ𝒪𝒫ℰ𝒮✨ 🌶️ Spicy 🖤 Forbidden attraction 🌶️ Touch her & you die 🖤 She has a stalker 🌶️ FBI agent MMC X profiler FMC 🖤 He lovessss a hand necklace 🌶️ Slow burnish 🖤 Hate to Love 🌶️ possive/ Jealous 🖤 Serial killer on the loose
ℳ𝓎 𝒯𝒽ℴ𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓈: Wow. Yeah okay. Idk where to begin😂. At first i was confused why all the chapters were in her POV, it didn’t make sense to me at first. But by chapter by chapter it all made sense. It all made sense why it was in her Pov. And its fucking genius. While reading this, while they try to solve the murder, its pretty hard NOT to become a detective urself, as a 3rd person 😂. I loved playing detective, this entire book made me wanna grab a white board & solve the case myself🤭. But gosh, Hadid & Kane are perfect for eachother. They really are. And the ending??? I loved it. All the teasing moments they have with eachother, the moments they wanted to shut eachother up, the first met of theirs were she already wants to kill him. The way he handles & protect her oml. This book is genius, its amazing, its stressfull as hell😂. AND THE STALKER? I dont blame Safia for being scared. I was scared myself, thats how good written this is🤩🤩. But its okay, the spicy moments makes you honestly forget all about being stressed out😂. Overall this book is amazingly good & i cant wait for more!!:) I could talk abt this for hours and days. Thank you for the arc. Im so grateful🩷💋
This was my first ARC from Love Notes PR & I had not read any of the author’s prior books. I liked the tropes and blurb so I signed up for the book. It ended up being a pleasant surprise!
If you’re obsessed with Criminal Minds-style profiling, morally grey men, and dark romance that keeps you up way past bedtime, Nightfall by E.L. Lewis delivers on every level. Doctor Safia Hadid is exactly the kind of heroine I love—brilliant, complex, and emotionally compelling. Watching her navigate the terrifying world of serial killers while battling her growing obsession with the dangerously enigmatic Agent Theodore Kane was absolutely addictive.
Their chemistry? Unreal. Every interaction crackled with tension, and Theodore Kane is the perfect blend of cold, possessive, and irresistibly mysterious. What really stood out was the atmosphere. The suspense, psychological twists, and haunting sense of danger never let up.
Just when I thought I understood where the story was going, another layer unraveled. The stalker subplot added an extra level of paranoia and intensity that made this impossible to put down.
E.L. Lewis masterfully balances dark themes, emotional vulnerability, and sizzling romance without losing the gripping thriller aspect. Fans of criminal profiling, slow-burn obsession, and shadowy antiheroes are going to devour this book.
Nightfall is dark and completely consuming. I will now read all published work of this hidden gem of an author.
Calling all fans of Criminal Minds and Dexter, Nightfall is 100% the book for you!
Safia Hadid is a brilliant behavioural psychologist that the FBI desperately needs to join their task force. The team is led by the enigmatic, tightly guarded Agent Theo Kane, a man whose walls are as high as his reputation.
As Safia joins the investigation, she’s forced to confront a dangerous stalker of her own while helping Theo and his team hunt down a ruthless serial killer. The deeper they dig, the more the lines blur between staying professional and giving in to their latest obsessions- each other.
Only Safia can unravel the mystery that is Theo Kane, only she can get him open up about the truth he’s buried for years - a truth that could either free her or destroy her completely.
The twists throughout the story are sharp, shocking and perfectly timed, leading to a jaw-dropping finale. I wasn’t just hooked - I was obsessed. Obsessed with uncovering the serial killer, but even more obsessed with Safia and Theo and what their future holds.
Nightfall is dark, sexy, sensual, and utterly exciting. Safia and Kane play a dangerous game of cat and mouse where one is prey and the other predator. An investigation places them on the same path, but things take a dark turn as the attraction between them sizzles with intensity. Kane doesn’t hide his deep, consuming need for Safia, and it keeps you constantly on edge.
On one side, death is carving a brutal war path, while on the other, a sensual mating dance unfolds that leaves you breathless. The lines between right and wrong blur, making you question whether anything is truly black and white—or if everything exists in shades of grey.
As the dark truth is revealed piece by piece, you find yourself silently hoping Safia takes a walk on the dark side. Even amongst the darkness, there’s camaraderie, banter, and sibling love that adds warmth and depth to the story.
You’ll be completely reeled in and unable to resist this dark, thrilling ride!
Tropes: FBI Agent MMC × Profiler FMC Hate to love Serial K!ller on the loose She has a St@lker Romantic Suspense Spicy He loves hand necklaces Slowish Burn Touch her and d!e Possessive/ Jealous Forced Proximity Forbidden Attraction
Another five star read for me. If you’re a fan of criminal minds and like your romance a tad bit on the darkish side this would be a highly recommended read for you with the FBI aspect and profiling aspects as well as ser!al k!ller aspects. This book is fascinating and easy to read in one setting. I HIGHLY recommend this book, it is written so well and is so captivating. I enjoy the FMC in this book a lot, she’s very smart and carries the book well. Entertaining mystery aspects. Very possessive MMC who doesn’t enjoy the FMCs stlker. The spice is also on point here. Please read your trigger warnings and don’t read this if it isn’t something for you. Highly recommended, had a privilege to read an eARC but this is entirely my opinion.
Nightfall - E L Lewis ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5 Stars 🌶🌶 - Spice Level
Dr Safia Hadid and Agent Theo Kane gave me quite the thrill. I was locked in to read this in 1 day. Safia was bullied into helping the FBI aa profiler for a current unaliver case. Theo, the cocky lead detective knew how to convince her to take the breadcrumbs of the case so she couldn't say no.
As they work to create the profile, Safia and Theo, Safia's old stalker comes out of hiding, and she moves in with Theo for her protection. The tension was tensioning until it wasn't. This case had me catching all the twists and turns until the end. I was catching little pieces here and there right towards the end. I definitely enjoyed all the side characters like Gigi with all the sass and venom for Safia's brother.
Crime shows have always been my weakness growing up, so when I saw a romantic suspense story with an FBI agent MMC and profiler FMC, I was intrigued. The banter and sexual tension between Dr. Safia Hadid and Agent Kane is delicious. Their dynamic has a push and pull element that shines throughout the book. Their relationship slowly sizzles until it finally reaches a point of no return, and it was spicy.
Safia and Kane are two sides of a coin, while they both work towards seeking justice through their investigation, they each have different ways of looking at life: structured vs. a world of gray. Combine that with a murder investigation and an attraction that won’t be tamed, you feel like you are on the edge of your seat. Everything builds to a perfect crescendo and you are left wondering what side Safia would take. Easily a 5 star book for me.
This is a EPIC read! My favorite things are the serial unaliver and FBI Agent and educated professor. I'm totally in for looking for this menace. Meeting Dr. Hadid was a little jarring, she is focused on work and teaching she avoids everything else. Agent King was totally different because he was set on recruiting her to help with this case. He's so confident and disarming. There chemistry was fire! Grab this & devour it!
Thank you @lovenotes.pr and @ellewiswrites for sending me this thrilling story! All opinions are my own.
What to expect: 🔎 FBI Agent MMC x Profiler FMC 🥰 Romantic Suspense 🔪 Serial Killer 🌶️ Spicy 🙌 He Loves Hand Necklaces 🔥 Slowish Burn 💀 Touch Her and Die 💞 Forced Proximity 🤭 Forbidden Attraction
This was a Criminal Minds News To Know, type of story. I was invested right from the beginning. Agent Kane and Dr. Hadid were great with working together to solve this. You could feel that underlying attraction develop immediately between them. Making this a real page turner. This was intriguing with awesome twists and turns. I was on the edge of my seat through the thrilling parts, and gripping my iPad watching these two develop spark that eventually turned into flames. An absolutely amazing and spicy read.
This book was really good. It was a mix of mystery with psychology and some tension filled banter.
Safia and Theo were great characters and you feel the tension and chemistry between them. You could see the dynamic between the two and the power struggles and the way those 2 circle around each other.
I loved how the profiling and serial killer aspects added an edge to the book and that was one of the things that kept me invested.
The writing style was good but there were some parts in the middle that felt a little repetitive but other than that it was a good book.
This book was sooo good! First let me say I received this book as an ARC copy from LoveNotesPR and it did not disappoint. I absolutely love a stabby serial killer/murdery smutty book. Safia is a behavioral psychologist who has a shitty childhood and really is a loner, but super smart and is a professor at a college. Theodore is the lead investigator in the FBI for a serial killer who is terrorizing wealthy men in NYC. There is a dark and mysterious air about Theodore and as much as Safia tries to resist she is drawn to him. This book is chefs kiss! Read it! You won’t be disappointed.
I received this book as an ARC from lovenotes.pr I really enjoyed this book, it has a criminal minds vibe to it, if you enjoyed the mindf*ck series you will enjoy this.
The tension between Agent Kane and Dr Hadid is amazing, it’s very up and down, both characters actually should be unlikeable but you can’t help but Like them and root for them when you find out the story.
I would have like more of the subplot with Kaleb the previous patient.
4.5⭐️ THANK YOU for this opportunity to read and review this ARC
Wow. WOW. The most perfect blend of psychological thriller, murder mystery, & very morally grey dark romance that I did not know I needed 🥵 I was not expecting to be so hooked in the first couple chapters. This is the second book in a duology standalone series and I immediately RAN to get my hands on the first book. Please become a trilogyyyy
Nightfall by E.L. Lewis pleasantly surprised me. This was my first book by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last. While it has romance, it felt more like a thriller/suspense novel, which I really enjoyed. The chemistry between the main characters was strong, and the suspense kept me engaged and intrigued from beginning to end. A great read for anyone who enjoys dark romance with a healthy dose of mystery and tension.
