The red meteor shower rained across the sky, a black fog engulfed the world. After waking from a night of torture and agony, Humans discovered they no longer dominated the world. —The hunters have become the hunted. After the apocalypse, I struggled for survival for ten bitter years, but ultimately couldn’t escape death. But when I opened my eyes again, I had transformed from an ordinary 35-year old woman into a beautiful young man of 18. A different gender, a world that is both familiar yet not, an apocalypse that has vanished without a trace, and an unexpected return of 17 years of youth. Looking around, I discovered I had a powerful, protective big brother and a gentle, charming little sister. Just as things couldn’t possibly look any brighter— The end of the world came crashing down again. And this time around, is it fight? Or flight?
I had no idea the author also wrote The Legend of the Sun Knight and Half Prince... so I'm kind of just fangirling right now and yelling, "NO WONDER THIS STORY WAS SO GOOD!!" It's super impressive how the author can write stories of such different genres (and they're such good stories too!).
I love the MC, because he/she is just really tough and resilient. There was some angst/drama regarding his/her identity, because he/she feels conflicted about who he/she really is. I think the author handled it very well though, so kudos to that.
The MC's big bro and lil sis are so cute, I can't even... The MC being a huge bro-con and sis-con is no joke, hahaha. Okay, despite all the jokes, there isn't ANY incest of course. The side characters are super likable too.
The action is surprisingly really good. It's actually more detailed than what a lot of other Chinese novels have, so I'm really impressed. The MC and all the characters are basically badasses.
The world-building is also pretty good, and I think there's going be some more revelations regarding the MC's "past" life.
I swallowed this novel whole, in a day. It was such a light and fun read, I couldn't stop - best zombie apocalypse story ever. The characters are so likeable and aren't acting the least bit stupid. The world setting is nicely made, it really does feel like they are surviving because of skills and not some deus ex machina. The author really knows how to write good humor too. As a light novel, it accomplishes more than necessary.
I have read this book multiple times and am a good deal biased towards it. It is a different take on a “zombie” apocalypse than what you usually see, there’s less “who got bitten and has to die” and more “why doesn’t things go according to plan”.

Yu Wo reaaaaaally likes them gender bender stories huh 😂
Dominion's End follows the life of a 35-year old woman called Guan Weijun, veteran survivor of the zombie apocalypse for 10 years ongoing. She wakes up one day in the past - or possible parallel world - just before the apocalypse is about to unfold. Guan Weijun sets out with her future knoweldge of how the world is about to go to hell - except this time, she's in the body of a 18-year old boy called Jiang Shuyu.
Things this novel does well: the plot grabs your attention and there are hints dropped throughout that leave you curious about unveiled mysteries. The action scenes are BOMB - every scene where our protagonist fights was a funky delight. I'm also a sucker for the the Troupes™, even if they're cliche . . . overprotective older brother, op characters, elemental powers, doing things in secret and getting hurt but hiding it . . . 😩👌
Things this novel doesn't do well: it's hard to believe Guan Weijun is mentally 35 when she gets nosebleeds over her older brother's naked body (???), wants to kiss/marry her 15 year-old sister (?????) and generally seems to have the maturity of someone in their early 20s. Also, I can't quite work out if I should feel offended by the portrayal of gender stereotypes and sexual oritentation, because some parts are good and some are not as good.
