As the dust settles from the (literally) explosive duel against Tsukijima, Souta Narumi, aka Piggy, hopes to finally get some peace and quiet. And knowing the tumultuous plot that Dungeon Explorer Chronicle has in store, it’s time to enjoy some good old-fashioned dungeon-diving to prepare. While Piggy and his usual crew go about their underground excursions, discovering strange new lands and monsters along the way, word arrives of a ritzy gala that’s to be held for all the top Assault Clans—and the food’s all-you-can-eat! Not one to pass up an opportunity like that, Piggy (with little sister Kano in tow) heads out to stuff his face. However, he’ll have to learn the hard way that there’s no such thing as a free lunch when the party is crashed by a shadowy group that coerces the merrymakers into playing a game of death...
I've enjoyed the series so far but have been waiting for a long time for this next volume and was enjoying it. Right up until it ends during right in the middle of the only action scene in what's a rather short novel. As soon as the story ACTUALLY started it ended with out actually finishing anything like the previous novels did. I'm assuming this is a part 1 of the ark but it was so abrupt, I was so confused when it just switched to the Afterwards. I had to go back and reread and was wondering where the last dozen, or two pages with at least 2 chapters to end event.
