Tale As Old…

I’ve read many stories like this, but this one hit different.
Although I read it last month, I fell behind on my reading and reviews due to life lifeing.
This story was a quick read. But even so, the first few chapters were slow for me. Mostly due to the fact that I’m old, so college love is kind of boring to me.
However, when things changed and the witch arrived…my attention peaked.
The story told a tale I’ve read/watched before, but definitely had twists and elements that were unique to its own. And the descriptions were very well written! I felt the emotions and the growth of Matt, as he was forced to grow up pretty quickly when he suddenly had a gift (or curse) that he wasn’t sure how to handle.
Definitely enjoyed this journey with Matt and Lilith!!

The premise of this book immediately grabbed my attention. A man experiencing visions of people’s deaths that start coming true? Add in paranormal elements, mystery, and romance, and I was all in. The beginning was honestly my favorite part. It was intriguing, creepy, and did a great job making me wonder what was happening and where the story was going.

For the first half of the book, I was completely invested. I wanted answers. I wanted to understand why the visions were happening, whether they could be stopped, and how everything was connected. Unfortunately, somewhere around the 60% mark, the story started to lose some momentum for me. The pacing became a little rushed and some of the plot developments felt like they happened too quickly. Instead of building tension and mystery, it felt like the story was moving from point to point without fully letting the bigger moments breathe.

I think that’s where I struggled the most. This concept had so much potential to be darker, more suspenseful, and even more emotionally impactful. I found myself wanting more detail, more depth, and more time spent developing the mystery and the stakes surrounding the visions. The romance aspect was enjoyable, and I liked the emotional conflict surrounding protecting the people you love while dealing with something you can’t fully understand or control. I just wish the story had dug a little deeper into those themes.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and thought the idea behind it was really creative. The opening hooked me immediately, but I felt like the second half became a little too predictable and surface level compared to how strong the setup was. With a little more buildup, complexity, and room for the story to unfold, I think this could have been an incredibly memorable paranormal thriller. Still, it was a quick and entertaining read, and the concept itself was definitely what kept me turning the pages.

I absolutely spent 0 time not vibing with these characters, the way Matt and Lilith were both written to be so personable and cute meant that I had no problem liking either of them. The way they worked their way into my heart and sat down so quickly made me feel connected to them from the get go. I feel like this doesn't happen often for me, but I was hooked in chapter 1 and it only deepened with each chapter I read.

The authors writing style is relaxed and relatable and it almost felt conversational, I personally really liked this. I felt all of the emotions while reading this book; I was intrigued, nervous, embarrassed, I felt like I was going to throw up I was so anxious, proud and so many others.

I am struggling to find the words to explain how much I enjoyed this read. The concept of this book? Fun and new. The characters? Loveable. The story? Grabs your attention and doesn't let it go. I started the second half of the book, knowing I wouldn't be able to stop and I did not regret it.

Absolutely read this book, give it a shot.

The Deaths I See is the equivalent to a hurricanes vortex in literature form. When I say I DEVOURED this book, I could not put it down for anything. Me being my cocky readers self thought I had everything figured out, only to be told by the truth stick that I was not even on the same train track and the only reason I made it to the destination station was through pure stubborn perseverance.

The characters were well developed, the plot...... well thought out and even better executed.

I can not wait to read more from Seretha. This book went above and beyond my expectations and I am truly honored that I was a lucky one to not only be able to read this before publication, but help hype this book up so readers like you can share the same reading experience that I was able to.

ARC READ. The mix of paranormal suspense, mystery, and dark romance I got sucked in right from the start. The visions, the danger, and the constant feeling that something bigger was lurking beneath the surface kept me hooked and turning pages.

What I loved most was how intense and immersive the story felt. The characters were layered, flawed, and easy to become invested in. Seretha Pierce did an amazing job balancing the darker elements with emotional depth, making it impossible not to get caught up in everything unfolding around them.

If you enjoy dark paranormal romances with mystery, obsession, and high-stakes suspense, this is definitely one to add to your TBR. I’m already looking forward to reading more from this author.

This book definitely had me on my toes. Best way for me to describe this is book is it gives me final destination meets butterfly effect vibes. Very good story line. It caught my attention from the beginning and held my attention all the way through. Due to what he thought were just thoughts and horrible scenarios playing in his head, which on his birthday finds out it’s a curse. This curse leads to a challenging love story between the MMC and MFC. After a bar fight and court case turns tragic, a detective starts following him and tries to ask him questions thinking he’s the suspect in the deaths because he’s always there when the events unfold.

From the very first chapters, I was hooked! It’s one of those stories that completely pulls you in and refuses to let go. There were so many moments where I told myself “just one more chapter,” and suddenly 3 more chapters had passed.

The imagery throughout the book is incredible. The way Seretha writes made every scene play out so vividly in my mind that it felt more like watching a movie than reading a book. The emotion, suspense, and detail are beautifully woven together in a way that keeps you fully invested in every moment.

If you’re looking for a book that keeps your attention, draws you into another world, and leaves an impression long after the last page,this is it!!

OMG. This was such a fun read. I absolutely love the characters. They were so freaking cute. It had me hooked from beginning to end. I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was gonna happen next. I highly recommend reading, especially if you like final destination the way I can explain it. I cannot wait to actually buy a physical copy of this book because it deserves a spot on my bookshelf.

The Deaths I See is Final Destination meets a bloodline curse with some spice. And I’m here for every second of it! I enjoyed the twists and turns and character development in such a short book. You get sucked into Matt’s, the MMC, story and what’s happening to him. Trying to figure out what’s real and what’s in his head and why? And you feel the emotion behind the story with his girlfriend Lilith, the FMC. Such a good book.

This was actually such a weirdly addictive read. The whole death visions/curse thing had me hooked the entire time because it just kept getting darker and messier.

It just has that heavy creepy feeling that I personally loved.

Where do I begin with this, it really draws you in with the pace of the story and the well written characters. This was a different read for me, but oh so amazing.

What draws you in and keeps you is the understanding of an intrusive power not given by choice, a curse given. How far are you willing to go to break it? How much would you sacrifice?

I can recommend this beautiful story with my hand on my heart, a combination of reflection and pointing the ethical compass in the right direction.

Twists and turns galore.
Spice 🌶🌶

The story revolves around our MMC Matt and FMC Lilith. Freshman year in college, Matt a law student Lilith an Art student, a little tumble and sparks fly. There are a couple time jumps in the storyline while remaining in the college scene.

Matt is a freshman entering law school in Michigan. He has wanted to be a lawyer since he was a child arguing his case against a cookie stealing teddy bear. (How cute, right?)

Lilith, quick wit and knows what she wants and goes for it.

This is a paranormal romance with bloodline curses, morbid premonitions, witches and a love that is tested by forces unseen. It was a quick read and I didn't put it down. I just had to know how it ended. Looking forward to the release in June so I can get a copy for my ARC shelf!!

Arc review - This was such a fun book! I was all in from the beginning. I love the flow of the writing, the pace, the characters, the story!

While reading, I was so nervous he was going to look at a little old lady and bam! If you read it, then you know what I’m talking about. I really enjoyed it!
