I was thrilled to get my hands on this ARC from NetGalley. It was such a fabulous summer read too! While it is not an easy one to summarize, this book has a little bit of everything. A fabulous setting on the Italian Island of Capri, a great cast of characters, a mystery/ some intrigue over two seemingly unrelated accidents that happened at the same time some 50+ years ago, some romance, and even some family drama. Three stories intertwine beautifully between the famous Tellini fashion house, an underdog shoe designer and his family business, and Tanya, a visiting Englishwoman, who has been invited back to the island she fled more than 50 years ago. Set for publication July 7th you will not be sorry you picked this one up.

I have read several books by Victoria Springfield and continue to really enjoy them. Seven Days on the Italian Island is another example of a great book to read on vacation. She really has a knack for describing the setting vividly and the food descriptions here were also wonderful. This book has a lot going on, but the reader is in safe hands with Victoria Springfield. Seven Days on the Italian Island is being published on July 7th and I recommend it for those who enjoy a complicated family story set in a beautiful location.
The book starts with the anniversary of to an iconic photograph, and returning to the past is interwoven with themes of varying business interests, intrigue and betrayal, accidents, secrets, and regrets. There are a lot of painful events in the past that need to be brought to light and dealt with. I think the author does a great job with balancing the travel elements with the drama.
The plot here gets a bit complicated because there are a number of things to keep track of and sometimes I found myself having to look back to see how one person was related to another one. Maybe a character chart would have been useful. However, I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it.
