A well researched, well written book about a (IMO) very underrated punk band from Philly.

The Dead Milkmen’s debut album, Big Lizard in my Backyard is one of the great punk albums of all time.

The author did a great job with telling the history of the band.

A must read for any punk rock/ music fan.
A really must read for the younger generation who may not know who The Dead Milkmen are!

This is a short book, written by a music writer, about the band the Dead Milkmen. It was not the most sophisticated writing, which is exactly what I would hope for in a book about one of the punkest of the punk bands ever. It had all the deep details of a well-researched history, and I saw a number of items/memories from early band history that I was familiar with, as well as some I was not familiar with. I learned more about the Dead Milkmen than I already knew, and was a super quick read. It does not make me confident that any of the other books in the series will be as interesting if I’m not a HUGE fan of the band it’s about, as some of the writing was a little too clunky. I enjoyed it, but mostly because the Dead Milkmen bring me joy and remain my favorite band after 30+ years.

This is a great book for fans, including lapsed fans like myself. I had no idea they had reformed and been putting out new music for a long time now. Some of that music is really great and I owe it to this book for clueing me in.
