Safe Haven
Safe Haven is a story about love, trust, ambition, and the dangerous difference between feeling safe and actually being safe.
Naomi is full of ideas, always chasing the next thing, trying to build a life that feels meaningful and real. She believes love means commitment, consistency, and choosing someone every single day. Hakim is calm, talented, and respected in Raleigh’s art world. He believes love means trust, patience, and letting people show you who they are without forcing them.
But love is never just love. Past wounds, different expectations, ambition, and unspoken fears begin to test what they are building. Naomi wants certainty. Hakim believes trust should be enough. The closer they get, the more they must decide if love is about holding on, letting go, or learning how to do both.

I was lucky enough to be part of the ARC readers from the author herself! I have to say I truly adored this book. So much of it hit home and had me crying at the end. This is not only a romance book in a relationship sense. It’s a love letter to all of us who dream and fight for what we believe in. Naomi and Hakim are so beautiful together in how they hold each other up. My favorite character was definitely Aunt Dee, but everyone in the book was a good time. Highly recommend Safe Haven. It’s a place where you’ll learn, laugh, and love. Thank you KC Farrior!!

It’s in the empty spaces. In the subtle insistence to take a closer look. In the safety of knowing forever is right within reach. Hakim is the stillness and certainty that makes everything makes sense. He’s not forcing it. It’s who he is. Naomi is a visionary. She has the drive and command. She just needs a little direction.
In the mist of preparations for a new chapter, there’s an opportunity for chaos. Safe Haven tackles the theme of personal growth.
In a body of work where less is more, it’s important to be mindful of the function of its purpose. While entertainment is always at the forefront of sharing art publicly, it’s also an invitation to cogitate.

Really enjoyed this book. I was bought in from the prologue and KC definitely did her thing and she has me wanting to read more. If you haven’t read this one I strongly recommend it. It’s a 10/10 no notes needed

Safe Haven was a very fast read for me, but I was still a bit confused. Hear me out: immediately after reading the prologue, I knew I was in for a treat, but it felt like the treat was just dangling way out of reach.
I didn’t connect with the characters, side characters included. To avoid spoilers, one character was shot at a wedding, and that kind of piqued my interest, but it wasn’t explored beyond surface level. And the fact that the ending was so rushed made me feel like something was missing.
Thank you for the e-ARC.

If you are looking for a deeply reflective, character-driven romance that mirrors the true complexities of building a life with someone, Safe Haven is a beautifully written triumph. Farrior delivers a poignant and emotionally resonant story that captures the delicate, often challenging dance of merging two distinct worlds, making it an exceptional read for anyone who appreciates contemporary romance with profound psychological depth.
The narrative centers on Naomi and Hakim, two beautifully realized individuals navigating the vibrant art world of Raleigh. Naomi is an ambitious visionary—constantly chasing the next venture, full of ideas, and anchoring her definition of love in daily choice, commitment, and consistency. Hakim is her perfect foil—a calm, deeply respected local artist who views love through the lens of patience, trust, and allowing people the space to reveal their true selves. However, Farrior brilliantly demonstrates that love does not exist in a vacuum. As Naomi and Hakim draw closer, their romance is tested by the friction of past emotional wounds, contrasting expectations, and unspoken fears. The true magic of this book lies in its exploration of its central thesis: the dangerous difference between feeling safe and actually being safe. It is a sultry, brilliantly paced, and incredibly mature story about the courage it takes to look past your own defense mechanisms and decide whether love means holding tight, letting go, or learning the art of doing both.

Safe Haven is a story about healing, being, becoming, overcoming and feeling loved and supported through it all. The author was able to illustrate with her words how it looks when two people take the time to truly learn one another before embarking on a journey to become more. Hakim loved Naomi boldly but in a calm and grounding way, while she showed him that peace doesn’t have to be quiet and loved him wholeheartedly in return. This story follows them as they work towards building a life together while evil is constantly lurking. I was on an emotional rollercoaster with this one but, in the end, it was well worth it.

"There were moments with him when i could feel myself wanting to run from being understood. Not because he was doing anything wrong. Because being seen meant there was less room to hide."
Oh my gosh this story was incredible! I couldnt put it down once I started. I loved the banter, the characters were so loveable, and the love was so genuine.

I enjoyed reading Safe Haven. This was a cute romance novel. Hakim showed Naomi what it meant to be loved, to pursue her dreams and to not let anything ruffle his feathers with a calm demeanor. I loved how his relationship with Naomi developed over time, he pursued her, and dated with a purpose. Hakim did not let some of the challenges that he faced deter him from running his art gallery. Thank you to Kaitlan Farrior for allowing me to be apart of the Launch Team. If you are working on a part 2, I can't wait because there are some unanswered questions.
