This season, love deserves a comeback story.

Dr. Lila Callaway excels at putting broken things back together. But she could never mend her heart after Asher Wayne, the boy who promised her forever, chose football over their relationship. Years later, she runs the physical therapy department at Blue Crescent Medical Center, keeping her life orderly, safe, and free of infuriatingly charming athletes.

Until a severe ankle injury sidelines the NFL superstar. He belongs in world-class facilities, not a small-town clinic. But Ash will only let Lila oversee his rehabilitation, pushing all her buttons and looking far too handsome during their grueling daily sessions.

Lila establishes strict boundaries: no personal questions, no reminiscing, and absolutely no acknowledging the explosive chemistry still burning between them. Ash agrees to her terms, yet every intense exercise and lingering glance chips away at her ironclad defenses. He claims he returned for his recovery, but his relentless focus remains on her, making his temporary homecoming feel like a play for keeps.

Thirteen years apart, ten weeks of forced proximity, will it be enough for a second chance at first love?

The Love Theorem by Camilla Isley - A STEMinist Romantic Comedy Novel

Camilla is an engineer who left science behind to enter the whimsical realm of romantic fiction.

She writes contemporary rom-coms. Her characters have big hearts, might be a little stubborn at times, and love to banter with each other. Every story she pens has a guaranteed HEA that will make your heart beat faster. Unless you're a vampire, of course.

Camilla is a cat lover, coffee addict, and shoe hoarder. Besides writing, she loves reading—duh!—cooking, watching bad TV, and going to the movies—popcorn, please. She's a bit of a foodie, nothing too serious. A keen traveler, Camilla knows mosquitoes play a role in the ecosystem, and she doesn't want to starve all those frog princes out there, but she could really live without them.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC 🥹🫶🏻
And thank you, Camilla Isley, for writing this!

Asher broke Lila’s heart 13 years ago when he left her to pursue his pro football career. Now he’s back home with an injury, and he wants her to be his physical therapist.

Asher & Lila were everything. I have a little beef with second chance romance, but I looooove it when it’s done this beautifully.

The TENSION? Excuse me??? I felt everything these two were feeling. The longing, the angst?! I was screaming.

I don’t like it when everything is immediately forgiven in a second-chance romance, so I loved that Asher had to earn Lila’s forgiveness. His explanation actually made sense to me, and I could understand why she was willing to give him another chance.

Thirteen years is a LONG time, but the feelings were still there. They still cared so much about each other, and I was rooting for them so badly. I’m so happy they got their HEA.

Definitely want to read more from Camilla Isley after this!

Win Me Back by Camilla Isley
Blue Crescent Harbor 3

I am really enjoying the Blue Crescent Harbor series.

Lila and Asher were high school sweethearts, then he left. 13 years later he is back in town and wants Lila back. Second chance can be tricky to pull off but this one worked for me.

I enjoyed the beginning as Asher did his best to get Lila to let him in and I’m glad she didn’t give in too easily.

The last part of the book showed a realistic portrayal of what it would actually be like to be in a relationship with two people with very demanding careers and I liked how Lila addressed this with Asher.

I look forward to more in this series.

Thanks to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley for the ARC, and I am leaving this review voluntarily

I was SO excited when this landed pre-approved in my mailbox and couldn’t wait to head back to Blue Crescent Harbour!

I absolutely love a second-chance romance, and Ash and Lila’s story was everything I wanted and more. The perfect mix of romance, feels and all the reasons I love this series! 💕

If you’re a romance girlie, I’d definitely recommend this one and honestly, the whole series!

Already waiting patiently for Rory’s story 🥰

Thank you to Camilla Isley, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this as an ARC.

Please note - all these comments were written whilst reading! So they're choppy and might as well be bullet points. But here's my thoughts on this epic book!

♡

Now, when I got the arc for this, I did something odd, I saved it for later. Why? I don't know. I was ecstatic that a new book was out. I guess it was like saving the best part of your meal for last? I found myself stopping constantly while reading. Cause I knew if I kept reading, I was going to finish too soon and I wanted to savour it! I'm honestly passed nutter with these books Camilla!

Also, get this, this is a book I would have physically marked and highlighted throughout, cause it was just that f-ing good! And I have NEVER dared such a thing before 😲 (No hate to those that do, but my books are pristine cause I'm psycho)

Either way, less than a chapter in and I was already stupid giddy.

If you read this book, which you should, you will have no questions as to why Camilla Isley books are on auto read. My god, this book had me cackling out loud like a crazy witch!

Asher is shocking smart when it comes to the female species and how to swoon Lila. He might just be the ultimate book boyfriend.

Damn it. I don't even know who's side to be on. Its maddening! Do I want her to win this stand off or do I want her to buckle and get swept up in the hot NFL player?! Argh!

Ugh! *still screaming* The angst, the feelings, the tears, the rage I had (thankful I wasn't reading a paperback that surely would have been horrifically damaged at my rage throw across the room during some of those later chapters) yep. I'm mad.

This book was actually the perfect read. And now it's over and I don't know what to do with my life. But for anyone else, go read Win Me Back. ASAP. I HIGHLY recommend.

P.S. Camilla, you made me literally laugh out loud when you introduced Asher, but why only make him 6'2"? ( Kidding! Kinda. I wanna know! )

4.5/5. With each installment of the series, Blue Crescent Harbor feels more and more like home.

I don't know what would have to happen for me to dislike a Camilla Isley book. I'm not big on second chances or angst, but did that stop me from enjoying this? Of course not, clearly.

There's just something in the writing itself that makes this author really readable. The language flows really effortlessly, sounding so natural and light, and yet having no problems with punching you in the gut. It's amazing and the perfect escapism.

As much as my love for different parts of this series varies, I adore the casual overlap between them and watching the people who'd had their stories play out - or are still waiting for their turn - casually popping up in the background. It's the properly done small town trope of it all, and it pulls you in, craving more.

It's also impressive to me how much research must go into each book Camilla writes (especially since she does it so fast), because I feel like I'm learning a lot - in this case - about physical therapy (and bouquet making!). Of course, I'm not a medical professional, so I can't say anything about its accuracy, but it sounded well-done.

The relationship dynamics between the characters are well-written and make you feel like you're watching someone's life play out, which is the goal. It's well-rounded, it doesn't just focus on the main love interests and that's what makes it more immersive.

There's not much tension in this one, but instead their feelings kind of compare to putting on a well-worn pair of jeans which you couldn't fit into for a few years - there's comfort, nostalgia, and angst caused by the separation. Plus, the emotional outburst they had at one point was golden.

The only thing that didn't work for me was Asher, but that's truly personal preference as there wasn't anything outwardly wrong with him - there were many subtleties that amounted to something in my head over time, the way he would speak and act. Some people simply do that to you. To me, he just seemed so forceful and full-of-himself. Cornering someone into being close to you when you can clearly see they don't want to is not a move that's romantic in my head. Deciding what's best for someone without them having any say doesn't look good. Even the way he asked her out in the first place didn't sit well with me. I do think they fit together and their story is quite sweet, it didn't take away from that, but I just can't get rid of this icky sensation when I consider Ash. He does love Lila and is a kind person in general, though, that much is clear.

If you're into second chance romances that are angsty, sweet and a fast read, I'd really recommend going for this.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for letting me read the ARC!

Camilla Isley is my comfort author, I can always trust that she is going to write exactly what I need. I swear she knows what I want to read before I do. It’s the only way to explain how she knew I was on a doctor kick.

Win Me Back is the third book in the Blue Crescent Harbour series of interconnected standalones. It follows Lila and Ash, high school sweethearts who were torn apart by Ash’s football ambitions. Now thirteen years later after a bad injury Ash goes to his home town to heal. Guess who the resident physical therapist is? Well Lila of course. Ash is determined to win her back at any cost.

I truly adored this book, for starters pining men are my favourite. Ash doesn’t even pretend to play it cool, right from the start he is home on a mission and he will do whatever it takes. Lila is a doctor and I don’t know what it is about the hurt/healing trope but I am here for it. Maybe a bit of a competency kink too because I swear I have been having the time of my life with doctor romances. I love a second chance romance because, well the grovelling- and Ash does it well. If you are looking for a sweet easy fast paced read, you’ve got it here! Highly recommend!

“And now he’s back, expecting me to fix his ankle so he can return to the life he chose instead of me.”

Lila and Asher- wow! Their chemistry was everything, and I was rooting for Ash from day 1!

High school sweethearts, Ash broke Lila’s heart when he left her to pursue his pro football dreams. Now both 31, he’s back home with an injury and wants her to be the PT who does all his rehab during the off season….but that’s not the only reason he’s home- he also plans to win her back.

I didn’t want to put this story down. There were a couple of flashbacks which really helped build a picture of their younger years together and show the strength of their relationship and bond back then. I loved how Ash didn’t push Lila to do anything she didn’t want but was all in from the start and put his cards on the table straight away. He worked hard to show her he wanted her back and wasn’t going anywhere, so he could rebuild her trust.

This was by far my favourite of the series, and could definitely be read as a stand alone.

When I saw this on NetGalley and found it available to request, I didn’t hesitate for even a second because I knew Camilla Isley could never disappoint me. Being set in a small town immediately drew me into the story, as I’m a sucker for small-town romances. With the flawless storytelling and smooth flow of events, the story felt even more addictive.

The characters were also well developed and had emotional depth, which made the story even more interesting. The romance blossoming between the two nemeses was engaging and full of tension. The side characters weren’t forgotten after their initial introduction and continued to make appearances throughout the story, which I really appreciated. I also fell in love with the close-knit community vibes.

I’d highly recommend this to anyone who loves small-town romances with great chemistry, lovable characters, and a heartwarming community feel.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thirteen years ago, Asher broke Lila’s heart when he chose football over her, and they haven’t seen each other since. Now he’s back in town, and he’s determined to win her back.

I have such mixed feelings about this one. The writing felt a little slow paced to me, but at the same time, I couldn’t stop reading, so I guess the slower pace didn’t really bother me this time. It was impossible not to get invested in Asher and Lila’s story, especially knowing what happened between them in the past.

That being said, I didn’t really connect with the characters or the romance. I liked the story and definitely got hooked, but that was pretty much it. It didn’t blow me away or leave me thinking about it long after I finished.

Still, I had a good time reading it, and sometimes that’s enough.

This was a wonderfully smooth read. I could easily set it down and return to it hours later without losing my place.
While I'm not typically a fan of second chance romances, Ash's heartfelt apologies were truly exceptional. He demonstrated to her that they are meant to be together, despite having broken up after high school.
I would definitely read more from this author. The story focuses on love and the deep connection between the characters rather than just the spice. Camilla beautifully weaves together the journey of two broken souls, creating an enchanting love story.

Thank you for this amazing opportunity to read the eARC, and I am happy to provide my honest review in return.

Camilla Isley has her rom com formula down, and I really enjoy the town of Blue Crescent Harbor. I enjoyed the characters vocations in this one (physical therapist and professional football player)— sometimes that’s what can set these similar type books apart!

This is the third book of the Blue Crescent small town series. While you can read as a standalone, a few of the side characters have their own stories that are good to read beforehand. This story follows Lila (bff of Liam from book 2), a PT dr, and Asher, a NFL tight end. Lila and Asher were first loves until Asher broke up with her prior to college. 13 years later, he’s returned to win her back by doing pt with her after an injury. Lila is still heartbroken, but not easily swayed by Asher. This is a classic second chance at romance story. I really liked the last 3rd of the book as it was not all sunshine and rainbows (but no third act breakup). This is a closed-door romance and readers should feel comfortable with the low spice (maybe half a pepper’s worth).

Thank you, Boldwood Books, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Thank you to Camilla Isley, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review! 💝

This book was honestly okay and pretty easy to read. I liked it for what it was, especially because it’s a second-chance romance between a football athlete and a physical therapist. I already enjoyed getting little snippets of Lila in the previous book because of her personality, so I was interested in finally getting her story and finding out how her heart ended up getting broken by Asher.

Lila is committed and very straightforward about what she wants in life, especially when it comes to her career. She knows that she wants to be a physical therapist for athletes and eventually create her own sports rehabilitation hub. But there’s always been this one part of her life that feels incomplete, and that’s her heart. Asher broke it 13 years ago when he left to pursue his football career, and she never completely moved on from him.

I actually liked seeing Lila slowly understand why Asher made the decisions he did all those years ago. She had every right to be hurt and angry, but I appreciated that she eventually became more open to understanding his side instead of holding onto the resentment forever. I also liked that she never gave up on her own passion and career because of him. She still had her own goals and dreams outside of their relationship, which I really appreciated.

And honestly, I would probably be Lila too. If the person I loved suddenly came back then moved far away again, I would OVERTHINK EVERYTHING. So I definitely related to her in that sense because we are both professional overthinkers.

Asher is a star football athlete who ends up dealing with an injury, which brings him back into Lila’s life when he needs someone to help him with his recovery and rehabilitation. And after 13 years of not seeing each other, he basically decided to take the biggest risk of his life and try to win Lila back. I liked that he didn’t just expect everything to magically go back to the way it was. He actually put in the effort to earn her trust and show her that his feelings were still there.

Watching Asher slowly try to capture Lila’s heart again was cute, and obviously, he succeeded. By the end, they’re married, and honestly, I’m happy for them. After everything they went through, they deserved their happy ending.

I also loved getting to see Ryder, Faye, Liam, and Peyton again! 🥹 I always enjoy when interconnected series bring back previous couples because I like seeing what happens to them after their own books. It makes the whole series feel more connected, and I enjoyed seeing their relationships continue in the background.

Overall, this was a cute and easy second-chance romance. It wasn’t a book that completely blew me away, but I enjoyed Lila and Asher’s story, especially seeing them work through 13 years of hurt, misunderstandings, and unfinished feelings.

I’m also excited for the next book in the series, especially because it’s Rory’s story! She owns Shelf Indulgent, the bookstore, and her love interest is a novelist. 👀 A bookstore owner + novelist romance? Yeah, I’m definitely curious about this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

At this point, I'm convinced a Camilla Isley book is basically a guaranteed good time.

Win Me Back is the third book I've read by her, and I have yet to find one I haven't enjoyed. After meeting Lila earlier in the Blue Crescent Harbor series, I'd been waiting for her story, so I was incredibly excited to finally get it, and her second-chance romance gave me pretty much everything I wanted.

Lila and Ash have history. Thirteen years of it. They were each other's first love, had plans for their future, and then Ash chose football and left Lila with a broken heart. So when he walks back into her life needing her help with his rehabilitation, I was VERY happy that she didn't simply take one look at him and decide all was forgiven.

No, sir. You're going to have to work for it. 😂

And honestly, that was probably my favorite part of their romance. Their second chance felt earned. Lila had built a life for herself without Ash, and I loved that she protected her heart and established boundaries rather than immediately falling back into their old relationship. She made him prove that he wasn't going to leave her behind again.

Of course, that also meant we got plenty of yearning and tension along the way.

And it was SO good.

You could feel how much these two still cared about each other despite all the years they'd spent apart. Every lingering look, every physical therapy session, every little crack in Lila's defenses made me want them together even more. I especially loved that underneath all the attraction was the familiarity of two people who had once known each other better than anyone else.

Ash also really had to win me over alongside Lila. I loved watching him show her through his actions that he wasn't the same person who had walked away thirteen years earlier. There was something incredibly sweet about seeing him so determined to earn another chance rather than simply expecting one because they still had feelings for each other.

And I loved finally getting more of Lila! She's capable, independent, and understandably guarded when it comes to Ash, but there's also such a vulnerable side underneath all of that. After waiting for her story, I'm so glad she got a romance that allowed her to be angry and hesitant while still giving her the possibility of the future she'd once wanted.

Between the second chance, first love, forced proximity, sports romance, small-town setting, and thirteen years' worth of unresolved feelings, this one had so many things I love in a romance.

Sweet, funny, romantic, and full of delicious tension, Win Me Back was another really enjoyable addition to the Blue Crescent Harbor series. And apparently Camilla Isley and I are now three for three. 🤍

I am a longtime romance lover, and second chance romance is one of those tropes that almost always catches my attention. After reading "Rein Me In" and later "Fall for Me," I was excited to return to the Blue Crescent Harbor series, especially since Lila was one of the characters I really enjoyed in the last book. I remember being genuinely shocked that nothing had ever happened between her and Liam over the years. Well, now I understand why! 😂 There was clearly a part of Lila's heart that had never completely moved on from Ash, even after thirteen years apart.

I liked Ash from the beginning, even knowing that he was the one who ended their relationship all those years ago. What really worked for me was that he didn't come back expecting Lila to simply forget the past because he was ready for another chance. He knew he had hurt her, and I liked watching him put in the effort to repair what he had broken. As the story progressed, I started to suspect there was more behind their original breakup than Lila knew, and I was right. I won't spoil what happened, but I will say I REALLY wanted Lila to get the opportunity to confront a certain someone once everything came to light. I was waiting for that scene!

I also appreciated that the second-chance aspect wasn't treated as though thirteen years apart could be erased simply because they still loved each other. Once Lila and Ash began seriously considering what another chance might look like, they still had things to work through. In some ways, I think that helped Lila better understand the choices they made when they were younger. They aren't the same people they were back then, and I liked seeing them figure out whether the adults they had become could build something stronger than what they had before. There were also moments when Lila had to make some difficult choices of her own, and I loved seeing her willing to fight for their relationship too.

Overall, I really loved this installment of the Blue Crescent Harbor series. Lila and Ash had history, chemistry, unresolved hurt, and plenty of reasons why getting back together wasn't going to be easy, which is exactly what I want from a good second chance romance. I especially liked that Ash wasn't the only one who had to grow or make sacrifices for their relationship to work. Now I am excited to see where the series goes next! And I'm putting in my request early: I really hope Rebecca, Ryder's sister, and Preston, Lila's twin brother, eventually get stories of their own. There are still plenty of people in Blue Crescent Harbor whose business I need to know. 😂

My rating: 4.25/5

Thank you Netgalley for this Arc, this review is left voluntarily and all opinions on this book are my own.

Tropes:
-second chance romance
-physial therapist x injured NFL player
-childhood sweethearts
-he falls first and harder

Win me Back is a sport romance which follows 31 year old Lila as she is forced to help her ex, an NFL player who she hasn’t seen in over a decade. This duol POV romance book, shows how Lila tries to keep her heart at distance from Ash, while Ash tries to fight for her back.

This book has completely gotten me out of my reading slump and for that I say thank you. From the characters to the setting to the relationships, this books was filled to the brim and I could not put it down!. Firstly, the beginning of this book has to be one of my favourites. I just loved the setting and how it’s a situation that everyone can easily understand. It’s not overthought about nor is it too hard to understand, from the first sentence I was able to instantly connect with Lila and how she is feeling at this exact moment. I feel like Camilla Isley has done a really good job at keeping the jump in timelines, but making them clear and not confusing, I was able to instantly understand what point of the relationship we were at. Moreover, I loved this book and not only for the romance but for the honesty that it carried. Especially in the last 30%, I was crying and laughing with these characters because Camilla Isley didn’t just paint these characters into a perfect world, she instead shows them in a real world and points out that even the most perfect couples can struggle in society. And OMG, that proposal was the sweetest thing ever and I literally swooned when I read about it. (Chapter 24 if anyones wondering)

One thing that fell through for me was the pacing in the middle. While I loved the pacing at the beginning and the end, at the 50% mark it just felt like at one moment we was at point A and then at the next we was at point B, I just wish that there was a slight more build up so it didn’t just spring out on me. Furthermore, I also wish we got to see more of Lila’s relationship with her father, while he is spoken about throughout the book and we met him once at the beginning, I felt like I hadn’t really met the character enough for me to make my own opinions to him. Therefore, when Lila would briefly speak about him, I would feel disconnected to the conversation or thought.

However, that 3rd act had my jaw dropping on the floor!!. I’m pretty good at being able to guess storylines but I did not see this coming a mile away. Once I read it, I could not put the book down and was utterly obsessed until the last page.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this book. I feel like it’s a perfect sport romance with just the right amount of emotional breakdown, while also keeping things lighthearted and funny. Highly recommend to readers who enjoy sport romance and second chance romances.

5 stars! 🎠

It’s too much. It’s not enough. It’s too late now. It’ll never be too late.

I knew that the release day of this book was approaching and I was checking NetGalley several times a day to get the ARC right away! I love Camilla Isley's books and let me tell you, this book didn't disappoint me!

Because I loved it and I devoured it. (Tell me if there are any empty houses in Blue Crescent Harbor, I could move there.) This is the third part of the series and I loved how the former couples make appearances. Their book club is so fun!

Lila and Asher are each other first -and only- love. Then Asher left, Lila was heartbroken. Now Asher is back and his only target is to win her back. The flashbacks to their past were so sweet, like a teen romance movie. And I loved how they had matured and really communicated with each other in the present.

I was so anxious when

And now I have to wait for the next part, hopefully it will be released soon!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Pov: dual, 1st person
Heat: fade to black
Pacing: slowburn
Communication: a bit of miscommunication in the past, but healthy communication in the present
Third act:
Ending:

Main characters:
* Alpha Hero
* Cinnamon roll hero
* Physically very different

What?
* Forced proximity
* Found family
* Groveling
* Mutual pining
* Second chance
* Sports romance: football

Where?
* Return to hometown
* Small town

Drama?
* Difficult past

Other vibes:
* Backwards baseball hat
* The one that got away
* It has always been you

🚨 SPOILER ALERT: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I am giving Win Me Back by Camilla Isley an absolute 5-star review! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A heartwarming, small-town sports romance packed with second-chance magic, childhood sweethearts, top-tier banter, and all our favorite Blue Crescent Harbour friends! 🏈🌊✨
ARC Disclosure: A big thank you to NetGalley, author Camilla Isley, and publisher Boldwood Books for providing an advance digital review copy (eARC) of this book! All thoughts, fanatical reactions, and honest reflections shared in this review are entirely my own.
The Review
Soooo back to Blue Crescent Harbour for the third time and let me just say it: I didn't think it was possible to fall more in love with its people, but this book just proved me wrong. Because yes, it's a standalone about Ash (top-tier MMC) and Lila (strong FMC) and their second chance at love. But it's also a chance to see our beloved Ryder and Faye, Peyton and Liam... to enjoy lots of book club discussions with Rory (which btw I'm stoked is getting her own book in Book 4, yes I read the acknowledgements)! And it's a chance to see a group of friends stuck on a windowpane looking through the street when it's raining buckets... just to see two other friends making out and sort of... making up for good. Yup, that one was one of my favourite scenes here!
I absolutely loved Lila and Ash's connection and how this second chance, childhood sweethearts trope was dealt with... Camilla Isley is one of my fav writers and she didn't disappoint here. Can't wait for Book 4!
The Good
Ash stepping up as a top-tier sports MMC, Lila's strength as an FMC, the incredible second-chance childhood sweethearts dynamic, wonderful returning Blue Crescent Harbour cast, and that hilarious rainy window-peeking scene!
The Not So Good
Having to wait for Rory's story in Book 4 now that we've finished this absolute gem!

Sometimes second chance romances like a decade on are hit and miss for me. The whole ‘I was doing what I thought best’ line just aggravates me lmao. Like why do they think women are incapable of deciding what THEY want. There was definitely things that irked me. I felt that it needed a bit more grovelling. Lila is very clearly still hurt, and it just didn’t seem the most realistic in the sense she’d let her guard go down so quickly and easily. There wasn’t really a lot of showing how they build up their relationship and trust. It was little paragraphs telling this and that, with big time gaps.

I don’t blame her for being so cold and reluctant to see Ash. He really f’ed up. But also staying away for 13 years not visiting just doesn’t seem realistic. Dude… if you had so much regrets, you don’t wait a decade. And a man who had several months of the year where he was in the offseason. He did need to experience Lila wanting nothing to do with him, and not wanting to speak about anything other than physical therapy.

They definitely had matured, and I think we all expected there to be a 3rd act breakup; but there isn’t, definitely showing the growth. It also brings it back to how relationships aren’t perfect and easy, that it takes worth and showing up for the other. I was happy that they were able to figure out a way to not do long distance.

Epilogue could’ve included the proposal and wedding. Just for more showing us, rather than telling.

Definitely one of my favourite reads from this author

Lila and Ash were highschool sweethearts, however Ash broke Lila’s heart when he chose football over their relationship. 13 years later Lila is a doctor running a physical therapy department in their hometown, and Ash is her newest patient.

Ash never stopped loving Lila, and when a severe ankle injury requires him to have physical therapy, he uses the opportunity to go back home and fix the mistake he made 13 years ago.

I really enjoyed this book! The story was a sweet second chance forced proximity romance, which are not usually my favourite tropes, however this was done really well. The story starts well and i feel like you get a really good sense of the heartbreak Lila suffered and the regret Ash feels.

There are some flashback moments, but not too many and they have enough information to add to the background, but not too much to take away from the main story. The author definitely got a very good balance with the flashback chapters.

The story moved at a really good pace, and the development in the relationship felt natural, and not forced. There was proper communication between the mc’s, with a the mmc showing realistic remorse for what he had done, and the grand gesture felt sweet rather than contrived.

The only real complaint i have is not having more insight to Lila’s relationships or dating history in their 13 years apart. We had a brief mention of Ash’s with references to casual dating.

Overall I rate this a 4 out 5 stars.

As a note to readers, there is no real spice in this book, just implied spice. I prefer spicy romances, but the lack of spice did not detract from the story.

I absolutely love reading second chance romance and Ash and Lila story will definitely be a part of my TBR again list. The story flowed effortlessly and it was over before I knew it. I loved the flashbacks into the past and also seeing Asher doing everything to win Lila back.
It was a wonderful read - addictive and fun. I also enjoyed catching up with the characters from the previous books, and can’t wait for next in the series.

I had been waiting for this one! As the third book in the Blue Crescent Harbor series, I couldn't wait to read Lila's story.

Overall, I liked it. The beginning was especially compelling, with Ash making a surprise return to Blue Crescent Harbor and Lila immediately freaking out. She had been holding onto a 13-year grudge after he seemingly dumped her out of the blue when he left for college to play football.

Lila's anger was understandable, and it came across clearly in every interaction between them. The tension was there from the start, and I was eager to learn what had really happened all those years ago and whether they could find their way back to each other.

That said, it was a little hard to believe how quickly Lila changed her opinion of Ash. After holding onto that hurt and anger for so long, she overhears one conversation and suddenly seems open to reconciliation. I found that shift a bit jarring because it happened so fast.

Even so, I loved the rest of the book. Once they began working through their past, I really enjoyed watching them navigate how forgiveness could look and what it would take to build a relationship moving forward. Their emotional growth felt authentic, and I was rooting for them to make it work.

Also, cheers to there being no third-act breakup! That's always a welcome surprise in a romance.

Another strong read by Camilla Isley, and I'm already looking forward to the next visit to Blue Crescent Harbor.

Win Me Back is a super sweet second-chance romance and another fun addition to Camilla Isley’s Blue Crescent Harbor series. I’ve loved what I’ve read from Isley so far, and I really adore Ash and Lila’s story.

I especially love the flashbacks to high school and getting to see where their relationship began. Their history makes their connection in the present feel genuine, and I think their chemistry and personal struggles are the strongest parts of the story. The second-chance aspect is also very relatable: they were deeply in love, but Ash made the decision to end their relationship because he didn’t want his career to dictate or derail Lila’s future. Thirteen years later, Lila has to figure out if she can forgive Ash and if the love they had is still there; and whether it’s enough to make their relationship work this time around.

I really enjoy the small-town setting! The book club meetings, flower design class at the farm, and growing circle of friends adds so much charm and gives the story a cozy, community feel.

Overall, I genuinely enjoyed Ash and Lila’s story. Win Me Back is a charming, heartfelt second-chance romance with great chemistry, lovable characters, and plenty of small-town charm. I’m definitely planning to continue working my way through Isley’s books.

Lila has spent 13 years burying how she really feels about her high school sweetheart Asher and the way he left her. Which hasn’t been easy considering he’s an NFL hero. Asher on the other hand has done nothing but remember the decision he made which is his biggest regret. When he injures himself during the offseason he forces his team to allow him to pursue private rehabilitation. Lila is less than impressed that her father has agreed on her behalf for her to take Asher on as a client. She’s not sure how to keep all of her feelings locked up now that she’s treating Asher twice a day everyday.

Read if you enjoy:
-small town
-second chance
-high school sweethearts
-dual POV
-flashbacks
-closed door romance

My thoughts:
Overall this was fun! Second chance romance isn’t typically my favorite trope but I actually did enjoy it here. Lila and Asher and their story made sense to me and worked for me. I thought their reason for splitting was very plausible but not something that made it difficult for me to understand why they ended up back together. This is my second book in this series and in general it’s just very light, cozy romance -which is perfect sometimes! I thought the pacing worked well for the most part despite a slight rush in the last 15% or so. My only slight issue was how angry Lila was about something that happened 13 years prior. It just didn’t feel like as big of a deal as she was making it out to be.

I can always count on Camilla Isley for smiles, feelings, and a lot of romcom fun, not to mention her smart and strong FMCs!

Lila runs the physical therapy department at her small-town hospital. Smart, successful, and loved by many, she still nurses a broken heart courtesy of Asher, who broke up with her on his way out of town after high school.

And now NFL star Asher is back with a bad ankle that needs fixing, and Lila can’t wiggle her way out of it. He knows he messed up big time and is here to win her back no matter the cost. At first, she’s having none of it. Let the groveling begin…

Loved it! They had the best banter and chemistry, and though I was not Asher’s biggest fan at first, he wore me down too! There’s just something about a down bad MMC who owns his mistakes and isn’t giving up. All the small town fun was there too—quirky busybodies, friends, family, book clubs, meddlers.

Spice – lots of closed-door/fade-to-black action, nothing graphic.

Perfect if you love:

Second Chance Romance
Small Town
Rekindling high school romance
Football player MMC
Physical Therapist FMC
Forced Proximity
Groveling

In stories like this one, I do such a good job of hating the MMC for hurting the FMC so much that I wonder if I’ll be able to forgive him, even if she does. But of course, Camilla does a fantastic job of thawing my cold, broken heart alongside the FMC’s.

Asher and Lila were hot and heavy in high school. A forever kind of love. But when it was time to go away to college, Asher took a scholarship to a different school, then broke up with Lila, believing what he was doing was the best thing for her. Thirteen years later, he’s back to correct the mistake he made, hoping she still loves him, too.

This book is so well written that it was hard for me to read the first half of it. I really felt the angst and pain that Asher created by coming back to their small town. I felt Lila’s frustration at having to see him every day. Heck, I was cheering on her attempts to stay cold and impassive toward him. Yes, I felt a little bit of compassion for Asher who was clearly desperately in love and desperate for her to give him a chance. Thanks to a very entertaining and explosive conversation at book club, he got his chance.

This book has the whole gambit of emotions including humor and relief after all that pain and angst. I do love Camilla Isley’s books and this one is no exception.

Nada, no hizo nada.

3.5 stars rounded down to 3.

This book was another fun read from Camilla Isley. The story tells the tale of Ash and Lila, two high school sweethearts who have come back together 13 years later.

I enjoyed the little flashbacks to their teen years dating. This really helped solidify the relationship. I also liked how we got a few years of their relationship at the end of the book from boyfriend/girlfriend to fiancé to husband/wife. That worked.

I didn’t like a couple aspects, such as Isley using real football teams. I enjoy when the authors make up teams, because honestly I’m not a Chiefs, Bears, Giants, or Eagles fan. Just make up a team and it will hit better with readers. I also didn’t like how Lila really hated Ash for like 60% of the novel. I wanted a more gradual change for her. She’s actually pretty mean and Ash is a little licked puppy more than I like. Yes, he did her wrong, but I wanted Lila to warm up to him quicker and have some remorse for how she treated him.

It was a cute story, and I’m hoping we get Preston’s book next.
