We start at new years eve 99, its a party for a group of university students, and, overwhelmed with guilt and finally starting to realise what a utter twat her best friends partner Jeremy is, Rachel confronts him and states that tonight is the night every one learns about their affair

Jeremy is obviously not impressed, he threatens Rachel, not only into silence but to going no contact, or else...

Now we flash forward to 23yrs later, the group has for the most part lost touch with each other, and Jeremy, now married to Rachel's once bestie . Hasn't thought about her in years, but then. Each of the friends recieve a letter, a invite in fact, as long held secrets begin to come to light.

Now its hard to get to many plot details here without spoilers and I dont want to do that as Charlotte has done a great job of creating twist out of twist here as we shift to and from past and present timelines

But this was a lot of fun, Jeremy for his part is a incredibly easy to hate figure, too easy almost, to the point where was I wondering what they all saw in him, until he opens his mouth and turns out to have a masters in bullshitting so to speak, an expert at manipulating others.

but as the old saying goes, it takes 2 to tango and Rachel shifts between having heroic moments and looking outright villianious herself, she is a flawed character but it does help that she is also hilarious, with a very twisted sense of humour

And the side characters are well, while perhaps not quite as fleshed out as our main duo, Charlotte manages to avoid simply having them as passengers along for the ride, each of the friend group is holding secrets/unique personalities of their own and it all comes to light at their reunion....

I thoroughly enjoyed this book about a group of old university friends who come together after receiving an invite for a memorial of one of their friends from a solicitor.

What follows was totally crazy and unhinged and I absolutely loved it!

Excellent book, not your normal thriller, lots of twists and turns, will make an excellent movie, once I picked it up, couldn’t put it down. Really enjoyed it .
