Artemis is a librarian , smart and has degrees to back it up. Arthur is the Alpha dragon for his clan. There is a book that his clan hopes will answer why his clan's dragons are getting weak. He approaches Artemis asking for a book titled “Recopilación de Linajes de Dragones Notables de este Milenio” (Translates to “Compilation of Notable Dragon Lineages of this Millennium”). That is where Artimis's life turns in a way that will change her life. Someone does not want these two to discover what is missing. Artemis has a close call with someone wanting the info she has found. She has not found anything but an archived book. The suspense is heart racing and only in Artemis's dreams and books does she enter adventure. In swoops Arthur and her reality will never be the same as she learns dragons are real. She joins Arthur on his quest to find missing pages of this book.
This is the sort of book that makes me wish people have “read parties” the way they have “watch parties.” I would have loved to have been able to share my thoughts and reactions in real time (and without worrying about spoilers) and to see others’ thoughts and reactions as well!
TL, DR - You will be on the edge of your seat - and yet this still manages to be low angst. Do I want this to turn into a series (or at least get some novellas about supporting characters?) YES! ooooh, and maybe a prequel about a certain someone... You won't want to leave this world when it's over!
I loved the worldbuilding from page 1 – a draconic society which has eschewed human technology, now learning to use and adapt to it. We’re introduced to this world around a year into the transition so it’s not completely tedious, just fun.
Our introduction to our Librarian on the other hand is epic at the microcosmic level: “All three (interns) stared at me with the same expression patrons used when they realized the restricted section existed: reverence mixed with fear. Which was a ridiculous way to look at someone. Fantastic. I had accidentally become a cryptid. I had not consented to this social role and did not want it…”
The ND representation here hit me in the solar plexus mere pages into chapter two when Artemis’s childhood insult name was so close to mine I instantly and vividly remembered a particularly traumatic memory that goes with it. (traumatic at the time, something I give kid me a hug for in my mind now; it does not rekindle the trauma)
Wit and humor are woven throughout the book, a complete and utter delight in even the most mundane moments.
“Books had always been an escape for me. In them, around them, I could be anyone.” Ope, again with a hit at the heart of me. Except that I don’t want to imply that I’m anywhere near as smart as Artemis, there were so, so many times throughout the book where it was like she was speaking for me. “I wanted to ask him questions, but historically, asking questions had led to me being labeled intense and overbearing. Annoyance shot through me. I could ask questions. Wanting clarity wasn’t a personality flaw. Either… Me asking for clarification should not change that.”
And can I tell you too - I did not expect to be on the edge of my seat making sounds that are not words and awkward movement expressions to release energy through my arms before chapter 6!
I don’t think this is a spoiler, because we all know that at some point Artemis will be flying with Arthur, right? A storm kicked up during their flight to (spoilers) and this happened: Her protest came exactly as expected, quick and indignant. “I’m tougher than I look.” Girl – you are not tougher than lightning! But she IS that bad a$s!
Things I freaked out about A game - Girl! You really are brilliant AF! The secret of the mystery - WHOOO!!!!!
There was truly only one thing I didn’t like in this entire book. I’m disappointed by a joke Artemis played on Arthur, I feel like having survived “Fartie Artie” she wouldn’t have done something like that to him, although he did perceive it entirely different than I did. The scene and Arthur’s later reflection on it was probably only 2-3 pages total though.
This book was like a draconic where in the world is carmen sandiego, expect exotic locales and National Treasure energy.
Read. This. Book. You will NOT be disappointed!.

This book spoke to the library nerd in my soul. I loved this story from the name alone and the actual book did not disappoint. It was funny. It was sweet. It was everything I wanted and more that I didn’t know I needed in my life. This story kept me on the edge of my seat and had me kicking my feet while giggling too. I absolutely demolished this book. I couldn’t put it down, and definitely said “just one more chapter” a few too many times. Artemis is who I want to be when I grow up. She’s a seriously smart librarian who truly knows her stuff. I really felt for her with being bullied and made fun of due to her neurodivergence. One thing I appreciated was the humor that was woven through every aspect of the book, keeping it from being too bogged down and a sweet story. The way Arthur and Artemis related to one another and interact together is so endearing and adorable I just couldn’t help myself from wanting these two to get all the happiness they deserve. And the ending was honest to goodness perfection. I couldn’t have imagined a better one. This book has twists and turns, mystery and heat, tension and humor. Everything we love in a book combined with dragons and librarians. I absolutely need more from this universe.
I have been on a dark romance binge and was worried that this book would be too "bubblegum" for me. Man was I pleasantly surprised!
The characters were really well written and I connected instantly with both the FMC and the MMC.
The MMC is introduced as a booksmart guy who seems to be avoiding his alpa responsibility in favour of the hidden mystery of the dwindling magic in their dragon clan. To me he seemed reserved and gentle, but as the story progressed we saw the layers of him peeling away to reveal a swoonworthy and dominant alpha who uplifted and supported the FMC all the way. He acknowledged and encouraged her strengths and they worked so well together.
The FMC (mental health rep) grows from an unsure and quietly brilliant librarian to the hero of this story (in my opinion). It was amazing to be part of her journey into becomin confident in her strengths, abilities and coming into her own while still retaining her softness and heart.
The villain was a bit obvious to me so there was no "grand reveal", but I didn't expect the twist in the direction of the adventure. It was left field and really awesome.
All in all a great read! It is on my re-read list.
This book was an absolute delight. From the title alone, I was hooked, and the story truly exceeded my expectations. It was a perfect blend of funny and sweet, providing everything I wanted and surprising me with what I didn't know I needed. I devoured this book, unable to put it down, often repeating "just one more chapter."
The narrative kept me completely engrossed, resulting in a lot of giggling and foot-kicking moments. Artemis, the protagonist, is who I aspire to be: a seriously smart librarian with deep expertise. I felt a strong connection to her character, especially regarding the bullying she endured due to her neurodivergence.
What made the book shine was the humour woven throughout, which kept the story light and prevented it from getting bogged down. The relationship between Arthur and Artemis was incredibly endearing and adorable; I was rooting for their happiness from start to finish. The ending was, honestly, perfection—I couldn't have imagined a better conclusion.
Combining dragons and librarians, this book delivers everything we love: mystery, heat, tension, humour, and plenty of twists and turns. I sincerely hope for more stories set in this universe.

I absolutely devoured this book. From the very first meeting, Arthur and Artemis share an instant, compelling connection that drives the story forward. Arthur, an alpha dragon shifter determined to uncover the cause of his people’s decline, is easily one of the sweetest love interests I’ve come across in romantasy. Artemis, a rare books librarian with AuDHD, offers a thoughtful perspective that contrasts beautifully with Arthur’s world, making their dynamic all the more engaging.
When Arthur seeks her help locating a rare text, their paths intertwine, launching them into an adventure rooted in unraveling the mysteries of the past. What follows is a journey filled with suspense, danger, and intrigue, as the two work together to solve a centuries-old puzzle, falling in love along the way.
This story strikes a great balance of tension and emotion, with low spice that lets the plot and character development truly shine. And the side characters are just as memorable, I firmly believe everyone needs a Caliban.
OMG! I loved this book sooooo much! Such a loveable read with two adorably nerdy characters who made room for each other.
These two conscientious truth-seekers put their wits to the test as they journey together as strangers on a mission to find missing pages of an ancient compendium about dragon bloodlines. Arthur -- the dragon-shifter -- is trying to save his people from the fading magic that keeps them in existence. And Artemis Ripley -- the AuDHD librarian -- is the missing piece he never knew he needed in his life. Together, they outsmart the best puzzle makers who ever lived while thwarting the plans of a dragon-shifter who’s trying to steal the throne.
An adventure the likes of Indiana Jones and National Treasure, “Nobody Told Me Dragons Use Libraries” oozes with smarts, mystery, laughs, sensuality, and heart.
This was such a good read, and I will recommend it to everyone!
This book is a delightful mix of cozy chaos and magical fun! Artemis, a librarian with a knack for organizing everything—including her own struggles—has her world turned upside down when Arthur, a charming dragon, suddenly barges in. Their quirky dynamic brings plenty of laughs, especially seeing a dragon politely wreck a library.
If you enjoy the grumpy/sunshine trope and nerdy characters destined to be together, you'll find this book totally irresistible. The supernatural elements, emotional depth, and unexpected romance make it both heartfelt and humorous.
There’s action, humor, some steamy moments, and a touch of peril and anxiety. But at its core, this story is about finding someone who sees you for who you truly are—even if you never thought to look for them in the stacks! Highly recommended for anyone who loves dragons, libraries, and romance with a twist.

Artemis is an AUDADHD superhero - I am glad to see representation of "us" in books. Is she socially clueless - she realizes people have insulted her- are insulting her, but like her parents who treated her like .... she completely writes them out of her life (which I can do quite well).
But she does have a sweetheart of a next door neighbor, Eloise, that she claims as an Aunt.
Then we have Artemis, tall dark handsome rich and a dragon - who is trying to find out why his families power is draining - Artemis has a book that is from a human that went to dragon land nine generations ago, she is a Rare Book Librarian, and bada boom....
They are joining forces going to Edinburgh, Atlantis, and in between the way Arthur realizes Artemis is his.....
Great ending and I was glad to see Eloise with Caliban :) (Actually, when I read about both characters in the beginning, I was hoping that would happen).
This story is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, action-filled, contemporary fantasy romance between Artemis, the female human research librarian lead with AuDHD, and Arthur, the male dragon shifter clan alpha lead desperately trying to solve the diminishing clan magic problem. I enjoyed the clearly identified AuDHD behaviour and quirks for Artemis, and the fact that these were not the focus of her character though they clearly altered choices. I enjoyed Arthur’s genuine lack of concern over Artemis’ foibles and his sincere appreciation for her skills that allowed her to assist him. I enjoyed the companionable balance between Arthur and Artemis. I enjoyed the developing intimacy. I enjoyed the expedited antagonist resolution. I chuckled at the interactions between each of their supporting characters. I enjoyed the ending. I enjoyed the world building.

I had some problems in the beginning where the main characters were both introduced. It was clear that they were both neurodivergent, with that I have no real problem since I am a high functioning autist myself. But even for me they were way too weird to be honest. That could definitely discourage readers even though it's kind of announced in the preface.
But I persevered and was rewarded with not only an excellent story about a mysterious and magical quest reminding me of Indiana Jones / Tomb raiders, but also love story about how two lonely outcasts can compliment each other.
The main characters still remain weird but it is especially their weirdness that makes them the right persons for this quest. They really grow on you and feel very sympathetic, but they are never quite relatable.
Still I really enjoyed this book, an original in its own way
Adult content, reader discretion advised. No dragons are not real....in our reality. In Artemis' world, dragons are very real. Two Neuro divergent individuals embark on a genealogy research project and end up on an epic quest to save dragon kind. Author wants to save the dragons and knows his ancestors hold the answers. Only his journey leads him to Artemis. She sees patterns most miss and he needs her help and expertise. The risks are high. The danger is real. Enemies will be slowly revealed like an Indiana Jones movie. This book is filled with dry humor and sarcasm in spades. There are only a handful of sex scenes, however, they are steamy. The book is more about the FMC and the MMC developing feelings and the adventures that push them together. It's a fast, fun and sexy read.
Nobody Told Me Dragons Use Libraries by Lindsey Devin and Roxie Ray is a cozy, charming fantasy romance that blends humor and heart with a deep love of books into an enchanting adventure. I really enjoyed how Devin and Ray were able to craft a quirky story that involved dragons and libraries to create an adorable novel about magical creatures and found families. From the start both Arthur and Artemis were wonderfully endearing characters, each with their own distinct and genuine personality that drew me in. If you are looking for a pure comfort fantasy involving lovable dragons and mystical adventures, I suggest giving this book a read!

This was such a charming little romantic book, that I just gulped down with vigor. Artemis is just my girl, she's living every bookgirlies ultimate dream. Arthur is so dreamy and you can see the deep care he has for his clan. And I really loved that he was different to his father and that he embraced his differences, instead of trying to be someone he's not. I did feel the story, even though it was a lovely lenght to read, it was a bit to too fast paced in some areas and lacked a bit of detail, but still very enjoyable. But all in all I would highly recommend this cosy, romantic, adventurous, sweet story to anyone!.
I really enjoyed this paranormal romance between a dragon and a librarian. Their shared love of research and the search for a rare old book tied to his family history made the story especially interesting, particularly with the mystery surrounding the missing pages. Both characters are wonderfully peculiar in their own ways, and they fit together surprisingly well. I also liked how the romance and adventure elements were woven together, with the fated mates aspect unfolding slowly as he keeps his true nature secret for as long as possible. Overall, a fascinating and enjoyable read.

This is an excellent read, with epic tales, action, bad guys and good guys from an Indiana Jones adventure. This tale has everything you can ever ask for. I love Artemis. She is weird, quirky and sweet. Arthur is lonely and a but overawed with taking over from his late father. Both “Arties” make a great couple, if they would take a minute to openly talk about it. That said, the slow-burn element gives the author plenty of times to build up the different layers of each character and is able to give this book the added depth to take it from a good read, to a great read. This is a great 5 star read!
It started off incredible. Witty and adorable. Quotable. Genre defining. I thought voice it. Then about 1/3 of the way though it was a choppy mess. Quick, blocky, poorly fleshed out, like ai written without editing. Like someone forgot uk care. Garbage trite. Then last chapter and epilogues more detail then back yo good beginning. Like they knew they needed to save it before it ended for decent reviews. Ended with 2 fan service intimate scenes they also felt more ai (plug goes in socket right?) than true connection. I’m sad because it was so promising.
A dying race, an ancient power, a dragon, and a librarian combine in a book that is witty, charming and full of drama. I loved reading Artemis and Arthur's story. Smart, clever and completing each other in a nerdy and cute way as they attempt to solve the mystery plaguing the dragons. Danger and betrayal confronts them but with assistance and advice from Caliban and Eloise, a fascinating and amusing pair, this is romance at its best. This is one story that you won't be able to stop reading.
This was a fun urban romantasy, and I thought Arthur was just the sweetest love interest I've ever seen in a romantasy. I absolutely adored the side characters- I think everyone needs a Caliban. I could have done with a little more adventure and battle and such, but I can't really complain. It was obviously going to be pretty academic, just look at the title! It was out of my comfort zone, but a really fun read and I'm glad I gave it a shot.

Adorable, sweet, amusing moments from the MMC. The FMC had her nice, sarcastically amusing moments too. Adventurous historical research and making necessary changes turned out to be dangerous. When there's such sweetness and adorableness, a clean version without profanity suits it better. Some things were understandable and reasonable with the heroine, but felt mentally wrong and too much, still carrying trauma until the fated mate says the right words and it gets better.

A dragon adventure that is based completely on solving the puzzle of the past. This is an incredible book. Artemis is a librarian who works in rare books and see the world very differently. When Arthur comes to her looking for a rare book. The simply connect and head on an adventure to solve why last, save the future and fall in love along the way. This book is full of suspense, danger, mystery and steam. This is an excellent read.

'Perfect for readers who love: cozy chaos, grumpy/sunshine energy, nerd x nerd fated mates, and dragons who say "please" when they destroy your cataloguing system.'
The characters were very appealing and likeable and quirky and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

What do dragon shifters, ancient texts, and a neurodivergent librarian have in common? An open tab in a pub in Edinburgh, that's what. And an old butler. An elderly best friend. A stormy night. A little cottage, and the Lost City of Atlantis.
Nobody Told Me Dragons Use Libraries by Lindsey Devin is a paranormal romance with a happily-ever-after and heaps of action, talons and banter. A feel-good read if there ever was one, and one I would recommend if you're in the mood for a cosy mating bond that snaps into place just right.
Artemis & Arthur This story truly surprised me in all of the good ways. I love a story about an extremely smart woman and an amazing man that truly sees and appreciates her for exactly who she is. This was a wonderful adventure that I think is amazing, and kept me glued to the pages from beginning to end!!! I Loved everything about It!!! Looking forward to more of this world! I highly Recommend!! No Spoilers!.

Reading this was absolutely delightful!! It was an epic adventure and love story all rolled into one and I couldn’t help but fall completely in love with this book! I literally read it in one day because I could not put it down. Artemis and Arthur were absolutely perfect for each-other and I adored the way they showed up for each-other. The pacing was perfect and I legit did not want the story to end. This is the type of book I will happily read again and again!
Nobody Told Me Dragons Use Libraries was just an awesome book to read. I loved the main characters, and I appreciated the author's handling of Artemis being AuDHD. It wasn't just a throw-away trait to check a box, but was integral to her personality and to the whole story. The story itself was exciting. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. Highly recommended!.

This was adorable! I absolutely fell in love with this story. Artemis and Arthur were so much fun. Being a librarian with ADHD, I totally understand how her organization makes sense to her, even if it doesn’t to else. I have a son with ADHD, and when he was younger I had to do things differently with him than my other kids. So I loved seeing this representation. This was such a fun read. Her and Arthur were so great. I laughed, I swooned. I had the best time with this story.
I enjoyed the story and the characters however, a lot of it was hard to comprehend. You do need an editor as I noticed some things that should’ve been fixed before the book. Like the fact that his hands were bound, and in the next few minutes, he was catching her with his hands or grabbing onto her hand. I don’t know how he did it if his hands were bound. There’s some other instances like that, but I’m an editor could remedy those
I like me a good detailed book and this was totally one if it. Its really clear that both parties are neurodivergent and while I do like that as a neuro spicy human myself, I found myself getting irritable at both of them.
The story itself is pretty good, Arthur is a dragon shifter on the hunt for a rare book. Artemis is a librarian who has the book ( supposedly )
This is a fully fleshed out story which makes it so much more fun to read!.
2.5-3 for me. It’s cute. The world building is very minimal, I would have liked to see more depth overall and in the world - the magic - the clan, all of it.
The sheer amount of repetition and prepositions (like/as if/as though) is deeply unfortunate and made me skim by 30% through. There’s an overuse of filler phrases, a handful of logistical errors, and I felt v little connection to the characters. A lot of the exposition felt robotic. Concept is very cool; execution much less so.
