DRAVEN She is the daughter of the monster who destroyed my world. Sirens are liars. Killers wrapped in beauty. When she storms into my castle, vengeance finally has a face—half siren, half dragon… and entirely my enemy. A rare, dangerous thing. Her mother slaughtered mine. For that alone, she should beg for death. Instead, she defies me. Fights me. Looks at me like I’m the villain in her story… and makes me want to ruin her for it. I will break her, piece by piece, until she forgets who she was before me. I call her Little Firebird to remind her she belongs in a cage. But the way she burns when I touch her… the way she looks at me like she’d rather die than submit… I’m starting to realize I might be the one in danger of obsession.
AURELIA The day I didn’t shift, I became an outcast. A rare half-dragon, half-siren no one wanted. When my mother left, I learned to survive—for myself and for my sister. Until I flew straight into the Dragon Prince’s castle and demanded he release her. He rules Darkstorm with fire and cruelty. I should have known dragons don’t bargain. Draven takes. And now he’s taken me. He calls me Little Firebird like I’m something fragile. Like I won’t claw my way out of his grasp. I slapped him. He smiled, and that was my second mistake. Because now I’m trapped in a castle full of monsters… owned by the most dangerous one of all. And the worst part? It’s not the way he watches me like I’m already his. It’s the way my body betrays me when he gets too close… like some twisted part of me wants to be consumed by his fire.
In a kingdom where dragons take everything, I should be fighting to survive. Instead, I’m fighting against the heat of my own desire. And it might just burn me alive.
I live in Pennsylvania, with my amazing husband and four beautiful children. Two boys and two girls. Some things about me, I am a romance junkie, I am addicted to coffee, and I love dancing and listening to music.
It has always been a dream of mine to write for a living. I love the art and creativity of writing, especially romance of course.
I was born in California and as a child growing up, my family and I moved around a lot and that gave me a large passion, a driving desire for writing and reading, the older I have gotten the greater my desire grew to become an author.
I love sitting on the front porch watching the creek in peace. It is where I find my creative drive. I love baking with my family, but I also enjoy lazy time, relaxing and spending quality time with the whole family.
Okay, let me get this straight. We hated Tamlin from ACOTAR for locking up and being overly possessive of Feyre in an icky way and this MMC is just as bad, if not worse and we are supposed to root for them? And root for him?
I’m all for a possessive, morally grey/black MMC when it’s done well. I wish I could say this was but, alas. It was not. I did not really enjoy this book.
The plot points, if we can even call them that, are all actually 100% irrelevant. Hear me out, at what point do any of the plot points go anywhere or have any kind of impact on the storyline apart from shock value? They don’t.
This is great if you want to read an average smutty shifter romance and I probably wouldn’t even recommend it then. The FMC was likeable and mostly relatable but after everything that happens with Draven I actually am shocked that she continues a relationship with the guy.
This was definitely not my favorite read and I wouldn’t read it again or recommend it to anyone else. I’m surprised to be honest that this has the rating that it does. It kind of seems like we tried whipping tropes at the wall to see what would stick but nothing did, so now you just have the book equivalent of a mess on the floor.
Thank you to Book Sirens and to the author for this advanced reader copy of the book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Tropes Enemies to Lovers Obsessive MMC Stand-your-ground FMC Forced Proximity Dual-POV (Aurelia & Draven) Touch her and die
Spice 2/5
“She can run. She can hide. But dragons were born to hunt.” - Draven
This was my first dragon shifter book and it was pretty good. I loved the banter, the tension, and the fact that Aurelia doesn’t take crap from anyone, not even Dragon Prince Draven.
One thing that did bother me is the super over possessiveness that all the dragons had. I mean, I understand why, but why can’t they just take no for an answer and leave it at that? Haha. I’d be scared too if someone was that obsessed with me.
There were some really great spicy scenes that didn’t really add to the plot, but I guess it helped seal the deal.
Plot: 4.5/5 • Spice: 3/5 ➡️➡️➡️ I loved how unhinged Draven was. Absolutely borderline obsessive. We need that in a MMC.
Aurora is a halfling. Half siren, half dragon. She’ll never fully shift into a dragon and she feels out of place all the time. Draven, the prince, has been requested to find the halfling by the king. Aurora already met him when she went to pay off her sisters debt and free her. He rejected the idea immediately so she doesn’t think too highly of him.
Aurora trades places with her sister and now has to live in the castle. They don’t last very long staying away from each other. Draven becomes absolutely unhinged very quickly. Literally touch her and die.
He basically starts a war to keep her. He breaks her heart somewhere along the way. But fated mates can’t really be apart so try as she might…. they resolve quickly.
the ending was a little abrupt, but I can live with it. I wanted to know more about the mother and the vampires, but i’ll survive.
Devoured this in one day. I loved all of it. Dragon shifters, fated mates, badass FMC, OOT MMC, touch her and die, and a bit of forced proximity. 🔥

4.75⭐/5 From the start I got a lock on both main characters and I truly enjoyed watching how this all played out between them. The writing was compelling and the story carried along at a fast pace. Aurelia is fierce, determined, resilient, and she doesn’t feel like she belongs anywhere because she’s half-dragon and half-siren. She just deals with it because there’s no other way. Draven is the dragon prince…whoooo, he was conflicting for me. From the start he’s resentful, angry, and just mean, and over time he’s overcome with obsession for her. Their dynamic was very interesting to read, and I enjoyed their emotionally explosive interactions. His possessiveness and devotion to her were intense and I loved how dark this story got. The ending felt a little rushed but overall it was very satisfying and engaging.
Thank you to BookSirens for an early reader copy, this review is given voluntarily.
**I received a free ARC from booksirens in exchange for my honest review.**
Draven is an alpha male dragon shifter prince with some anger issues and dark tendencies.
Aurelia is a half-breed (half dragon shifter/half siren) that can't actually shift into a dragon and is very defiant and independent.
Both of them have some serious family drama.
I really wanted to love this book, and while I did enjoy it, it just wasn't fully complete in my opinion. It took me about 40% in before I started getting really into it and then around 80% it just felt repetitive. The writing felt contrived and at times lacked a natural rhythm. Sometimes it felt like it flowed well and other times it felt awkward or forced. I would not describe this book as very plot focused, its more character driven, but there were so many missed opportunities for more plot elements and story lines. I understand this is a standalone, but it felt rushed because of that. It could have been longer or a duet or simply had parts removed and other parts more developed.
I would have liked more world building and character development. I feel like half of the book was working up to this great war and then it just kind of went away and was never really concluded. We learn very little about the vampires, they almost didn't feel needed in the book at all. It felt like the vampire king gave up way too easily, and that her mother had zero consequences. Draven didn't even have to do anything, it was placed on his brother, who we also learned very little about. Fae were mentioned in one sentence and then never mentioned ever again. I feel like more info on the mom could have been helpful too, but I also feel like the FMC or MMC never really got justice or revenge. The whole "plot" never felt concluded.
I will admit this is my first dragon shifter dark romantasy, so I'm not sure about how they normally act, but the MMC was almost too possessive. I understand why, but it was borderline psychotic. It felt like it went beyond your normal morally gray MMC. Aurelia's shock at what Draven did after the club scene doesn't make sense to me either. She knew exactly how crazy he was because of Kane, but somehow didn't think he would murder for her? The FMC also confused me and started getting really annoying around 70-80% in. Aurelia was depicted early in the book as this strong, independent, take no shit, I know exactly who I am and what I want type of FMC...however, she can't seem to make up her mind about what she wants with Draven. They fight, she runs away, he finds her, they have sex and then it happens all over again like three times. It felt repetitive. The "twist", if you can even call it that, seemed unnecessary and didn't really add much to the story. In the end, the public was more upset about her being a half breed than what they made such a big deal about.
Overall, if you like a book with lots of spice and that's more character driven than plot driven, you may like this book. It could be used as a good palate cleanser between a book series or if you feel like you need something quick to read. It does have a VERY quick fast burn, so if you don't like that, you probably won't like this. This is an enemies to lovers dark romantasy with dragon shifters, sirens, and vampires and some seriously messed up family drama.
Some books entertain you. Others completely take over your life for a day or two. Darkstorm firmly falls into the second category.
I picked this up expecting dragons and romance, but what I got was a story packed with obsession, revenge, magic, and a romance that burns hotter with every chapter. Once I started, I genuinely struggled to put it down.
Aurelia is a character who instantly earned my sympathy. Caught between two worlds as a dragon siren hybrid, she's spent her life feeling like she doesn't truly belong anywhere. Her determination, resilience, and refusal to be intimidated made her a heroine I wanted to root for from the start.
Then there's Draven. He's not charming. He's not sweet. He's not trying to be either. He's dangerous, relentless, and completely consumed by his need for Aurelia. Their relationship begins with hatred, mistrust, and years of inherited resentment, making every moment between them feel charged with emotion. The fantasy elements blend together effortlessly.
That said, there were a few things I would have liked more of. Some of the side characters and supernatural factions felt like they had a lot of potential but weren't explored as deeply as I hoped. I found myself wanting more information about the wider world and some of the background lore. The ending also felt a little rushed compared to the rest of the story, and I would have loved a few extra chapters to let some plot threads breathe.
What stood out most for me was the intensity. Every emotion felt amplified anger, desire, grief, loyalty, obsession. The story fully embraces its darker themes while still delivering a romance that feels meaningful beneath all the chaos.
If your ideal romantasy includes powerful dragon shifters, enemies forced into close quarters, a possessive anti-hero who would burn kingdoms for the woman he loves, and enough tension to keep you reading "just one more chapter" until 2 a.m., then this is absolutely worth picking up.

❤️ World Building: The world building was lush and so well done! There are the “dragon” and “vampire” courts, each has its own feel and aesthetics to it. The atmosphere of the whole world is just incredible!
❤️ The Characters: OMG the MCs of this book are some of the best I’ve read! Aurelia is fierce because the world has made her that way, but she still has a softness in her. That kind of softness that only comes from being able to trust someone enough to finally let go. She wants to be taken care of, as she has taken care of everyone else in her life. Draven is just perfect! He tows the line between overly possessive & obsessed, but in a way that is just toe-curling perfection! He may be considered toxic in the real world, but he’s who I NEED in my books! No one writes a better MMC!
❤️ The Story: The story was incredible!!! I can’t even describe how amazing it was, I couldn’t put the book down!!!!! It was such a wonderful roller coaster of a ride! It’s moving, tender, and humorous but at the same time it’s dark, gritty and pushes the line between protective and oppressive.
❤️🔥Overall: I haven’t read a book by J.S. Rodriguez that I haven’t liked, and this is no exception! It’s phenomenal! You should really grab this AND her other books (all on KU)
Dragon fact Inspired by the dragon shifters: Scholars trace the dragon myth to ancient Babylon, 4,000 years ago. According to a Babylonian creation myth, Tiamat, a giant sea dragon, was murdered and his body cut in two, creating the sky and earth. From the dragon's blood sprang the first human.
OMG!!! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of Darkstorm from the amazing J.S. Rodriguez!! This is my second book by her and she did not disappoint!! I loved everything about Darkstorm and it was hard for me to finish because I didn’t want the story to end. In Darkstorm with have dragons, sirens and vampires and who doesn’t love that in a book.
We start off with Aurelia who is on her way to the Prince of Darkstroms castle to try and get her sister out of trouble except when she gets there she is told by one of the guards that the Prince is not seeing anymore people today and she will have to come back another day. Aurelia refuses to accept that and decides to kick the guard in his chest. Once he is down she walks by him into the castle but doesn’t make it far when the guard is back on his feet. The guard is ready to hit her with his flames but Aurelia is faster and she gets him with her blue flames. During this whole interaction she is being watch by Prince Draven. After she finally gets to him she try’s to get him to let her sister go by paying off her debt but he just takes the money and refuses to let her go as well.
Prince Draven’s father wants him to go find the girl who can’t shift and is half dragon and half siren. Draven doesn’t know why she is so important to him but does as he is told. He starts off going to her apartment and breaks in to find it empty. He then goes to this nightclub where she should be but he is not able to locate her. He decides he is going to give up when he finally spots her in the crowd. Draven learns that this girl is the same girl who came to his castle asking to free her sister.

Thank you to the author/publisher for the ARC — all thoughts are my honest opinion.
This book had a really intriguing premise and a lot of moving pieces that made for a fast-paced read.
For me personally, I found that there was quite a bit happening throughout the story, which made it a little harder to fully connect with the characters and their relationships. I would have loved to see more time spent on character development and world-building, as the concept has the potential to expand beautifully—possibly even as a series.
One of my favorite aspects was the baking scene. It added such a warm, cozy, and fun element to the story and really stood out to me. I honestly would have loved even more of those moments woven throughout.
The romance between the main characters didn’t fully click for me, as I would have liked a bit more development to make their connection feel more natural and immersive.
The twist was unexpected, but it didn’t completely resonate with me, and it impacted my engagement a bit toward the end.
Overall, while this one didn’t fully align with my personal reading preferences, I think it could still appeal to readers who enjoy fast-paced stories with multiple plot elements and lighter spice.

If you love a good dragon daddy this book is definitely for you.
This book got it's claws in me instantly and wouldn't let me go or let me put it down, I just had to keep on reading. Filled with dragon shifters, vampires, sirens, witches, magic, danger, and romance, it delivered everything I could want from a dark romantasy.
The story follows Aurelia, a half-siren, half-dragon, and Draven, the brooding dragon prince whose presence dominates the pages. Their chemistry is electric from the start, creating the perfect mix of tension, desire, and conflict that kept me turning the pages late into the night. The perfect definition of the enemies to lovers trope from the get go.
Draven is the definition of a morally grey obsession. Protective, possessive, ruthless, and completely devoted, he is exactly the type of MMC that dark fantasy readers will fall head over heels for.
The violence captured on the pages adds to the dark atmosphere without ever overshadowing the emotional depth of the story.
If you love dark romantasy packed with obsessive morally grey men, enemies to lovers, emotional trauma and enough tension to leave you breathless, this book deserves a place at the top of your TBR.
This was an easy five-star read that left me desperate for more.
I had high hopes for this book after reading the synopsis but I did not like this book at all unfortunately: and I am shocked at the rating it has. I almost DNF'd this book at multiple points but I really wanted to give it a chance. There was so much going on in this book, it gave me serious whiplash. It seemed like every toxic/twisted trope was thrown in here, I don't know, for shock value maybe? The only trope I was surprised that was not thrown in here was pregnancy. On top of that, the pacing felt extremely rushed and there was absolutely no plot aside from the shock value. I would have loved to see some more world building, or character building for that matter. The characters were flat, and don't get me started on Draven. I found him creepy, unhinged, and overly possessive without any redeeming qualities, along with all the other weirdly possessive males in this story. Don't get me wrong, I love a "touch her and die", morally grey/black MMC, but they need to have a backstory and be redeemable to some capacity. The FMC was fine, aside from her obsession with this man. I see what the author was trying to do here but it was just not executed well. If you like shifter smut with no plot then this might be something you like; however it is not a book I would recommend personally. This book was provided to me by BookSiren in exchange for an honest review.

Dragons, sirens, vampires... and enough tension to keep me glued to this book from beginning to end. This paranormal romantasy had everything I wanted: danger, magic, chaos, and a romance that completely consumed the story in the best way.
The FMC was such a refreshing character because she’s strong without losing the emotional side of herself. She’s resilient, stubborn, and refuses to let the world break her no matter how much gets thrown her way. I loved watching her hold her ground, especially against our MMC.
And speaking of him... this man started off arrogant as hell, but the character growth? So good. Watching him slowly become the man he was meant to be while fully embracing the whole “she’s mine and I will destroy anyone who touches her” mindset was honestly one of my favorite parts. The possessive fated mate energy in this book was absolutely unmatched.
The worldbuilding with the dragons, sirens, and vampires added so much to the story without taking away from the romance. Everything felt intense in the best possible way, and there was always something happening that kept me turning the pages. This book was addictive from start to finish, and now I’m sitting here needing more immediately.
ARC received from BookSirens in exchange for an honest review.
This book had SO much potential for me because the dragon/siren/vampire lore was genuinely interesting. I especially wanted more about the world they lived in, the vampires, the history, and how all of that intertwined with Aurelia and Draven’s relationship, because the hint at those details had me craving more.
Since this is a standalone romantasy, the story focused heavily on just Aurelia and Draven’s relationship, which I enjoyed. Draven had a lot of traits I love in an MMC — protective, possessive, and completely obsessed with her. At times, his personality felt a little inconsistent and almost TOO intense, even for me.
This book was addictive, entertaining, and one of those reads that keeps you turning pages. If you’re looking for a quick romantasy that satisfies the craving for a possessive MMC and a 🥵🥵 romance without being heavy on world-building, this is a perfect pick!
I wish there were deeper plot elements because I really think it had the potential to go from a fun read to an excellent one.
Darkstorm was everything I want in a dark fantasy romance—obsession, enemies-to-lovers tension, a possessive dragon prince, and a heroine who refuses to back down.
From the moment Draven and Aurelia meet, the chemistry is explosive. Their constant push-and-pull kept me completely invested, and I loved that Aurelia never lost her fire, even when facing one of the most powerful and intimidating characters in the kingdom. Draven is ruthless, obsessive, and morally gray in all the best ways, but watching the layers beneath his cruelty slowly unfold made him impossible not to love.
The world of dragons, sirens, and political conflict added depth to the romance without slowing the story down. The pacing was addictive, the tension was off the charts, and I found myself unable to put the book down. Every interaction between Draven and Aurelia crackled with emotion, frustration, and undeniable attraction.
If you enjoy dark fantasy romance with a possessive dragon prince, a strong-willed heroine, enemies-to-lovers vibes, and plenty of tension, Draven is a must-read.
I don't know how to explain how much I love the relationship between Draven and Aurora. I absolutely devoured this book with the forced proximity and touch her and die (pretty quickly by the way). The MMC is so unhinged about her and you add in the dragon shifters to get the perfect duo.
The book leaves you wanting more at the end with the mother character as well as some of the vampires (which are in there too!), but this is such a good book. It took me a couple of days to get through it just because I was pressed for time, but it's easily readable in a single day.
If you love your MMC and FMC to have a pretty intense back and forth, but intense feelings for each other quickly, and you don't want to wait for a super slow burn, this is the book for you.
It's definitely a darker relationship but it's the kind of book that makes you fall in love with the way the author creates and maintains the character relationship. I'm all in for dragons, royalty, almost a beauty and beast vibe (but not quite) and way darker.
While this book as been already published, I had the pleasure of being able to read the ARC for Darkstorm! Let me just say, This book was one of the best fantasy books i’ve read in a while!
The plot of this book was really good and lighthearted which I personally enjoyed. The characters matched eachothers push and pull and the ANGST… ON POINT! I genuinely felt myself blushing at some of the lines from Draven (MMC) and he might be one of my favorite book boyfriends of all time! But that in no way takes away from our FMC Aurelia because this girl knows how to HOLD HERSELF! She never backs down and stands her ground!
The spice was also FANTASTIC. While this is my first book from J.S. Rodriguez, but I will say this, THE WOMAN KNOWS HOW TO WRITE A MAN! I’d personally put the spice at a 2.5 maybe a 3, but that in no way diminishes his ability to make a girl weak at the knees!
Overall, I 100% will be reading more book from J.S. Rodriguez because I just know I am in for a TREAT!
This book was absolute CHAOS… and honestly? I had the best time reading it. 😂📚
Was it perfect? No. Was it wildly entertaining? ABSOLUTELY.
I genuinely loved the FMC. She’s messy, relatable, frustrating at times, but so easy to connect with. There were definitely moments where I wanted to shake some sense into her… but that’s what made her feel real.
This debut has: ✨ chaotic energy ✨ hilarious character shenanigans ✨ spice ✨ drama ✨ “just one more chapter” vibes
Are there inconsistencies? Sure. Does every spicy scene add to the plot? Not really. But was I entertained the entire time? YES.
This book starts with a bang and never really slows down. Some scenes could’ve been expanded while others maybe trimmed down a bit.
Overall, I wanted a FUN read that sucked me into a world that allows me to get lost in… and Darkstorm delivered exactly that.
“I marked you in fire and fate. You are mine until the last star dies, and after because there is no world where you are not mine… if it exists, I will burn it down and build another with you at the center.”
I absolutely devoured this book & throughly enjoyed it, I loved Dravens possessiveness & how he would literally chase Aurelia to the end of earth and pull her back to the castle by her hair if needed. Yes he is a massive walking/flying red flag but some of us just get off on it ok 🤷🏼♀️
I’m not really sure what the plot was… but I could read about a possessive, dominating dragon shifter all day.
Would I read this again? Probably not but it was a fun read, just felt a bit rushed & chaotic at times.
3 stars are for Draven and Draven only. ⭐️
Thank you to Book Sirens and to the author for this advanced eader copy of the book.
ARC Review—BookSirens Star Rating: 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pub Date: June 4th, 2026 Genre: Dark Fantasy, Dark Romance Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Format: Digital
This is a dark fantasy romance with dragons. Enemies to lovers with forbidden love. Aurelia is half Siren half Dragon who has a lot of attitude and doesn’t let anyone walk all over her. Her walls are up high and doesn’t let anyone in much. We have dual POV from Aurelia and Draven. He’s a Prince who is also a dragon. There’s a lot of tension between the two characters and there’s so much ups and downs with FMC and MMC kinda like high stakes. It’s a slow burn but very spicy! I have a hard time usually with fantasy but this was great! So entertaining! Very heavy tension between FMC and MMC..slow burn love as well, overall great read.
Dragons, Witches, Vampires and Sirens and so many toxic men to choose from.
Drake is possessive and demanding
Draven is obsessive and murders people for touching her.
Kane cheated on her but still thinks she is his cause her mother sold her to him and that it's ok to cheat because he wasn't getting what he wanted from her
Aurelia is turned on by Draven murdering someone and bringing her a souvenir. She decides to choose him anyway cause he is hot and who cares about murdering innocent people as long as it was done for her. Not to mention the whole stepbrother thing but he is hot and her mate so she doesn't care about that either.
The whole story is a bit too toxic for me
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was such a fun romantasy read. Dragons, sirens, fated mates, forced proximity, an obsessive “touch her and die” MMC… honestly, it had all the chaos I love.
Draven was completely unhinged in the best way, and the tension between him and Aurora kept me hooked the entire time. I also loved that Aurora actually pushed back and held her own instead of instantly folding for him.
The ending felt a little rushed, and I wanted more around the vampires and Aurora’s mother, but overall I had a really good time reading this.
Perfect for readers who love possessive MMCs, dragon shifters, spice, tension, and fast-paced romantasy.
This had strong enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity energy right from the start.
Aurelia is a half-siren, half-dragon outcast who ends up captured after breaking into Dragon Prince Draven’s castle to save her sister. Draven is cold, controlled, and convinced she’s tied to his past destruction, so he keeps her close… but never safe.
Their dynamic is all tension and push-pull. He’s dominant and intense, she refuses to break, and the chemistry builds in that messy space between hate and attraction. The “Little Firebird” nickname adds to that obsession-heavy vibe as they constantly test each other.
Dark, tense, and very character-driven with a strong, addictive enemies-to-lovers arc.
I was gifted this as an ARC for review! So... this book just wasn't for me. The premise and the blurb had me so excited for it. Who doesn't love a dragon shifter and a (part) siren?! However, the writing felt... clunky, and there was times when they were doing one thing, and then in the very next sentence they were doing something else that didn't fully make sense. For me it also felt like the plot was lacking a bit, and the conflicts were kind of boring.
I will say though, I can see how people would like it if you just want a quick little something. I just need *more* to keep my engaged and entertained and this was a miss for me but I so badly wanted to love it 😕
Darkstorm is not what I was expecting. It was ten times better. I finished this in less than 24 hours. I could not put it down. This is a dark revenge, enemies to lovers story. This has all the vibes in it. The touch her and die, possessive to a fault, and MINE. The banter between them was some of the best I have ever read. She loves to push every button he has. She never backs down no matter what he says. This is dark and triggers should be checked before reading if you need it. I went into this blind and that made everything that much more intense. You don't see most of this coming and the ones you do are still catch you off guard. I loved every minute of this.
This was a story about a half dragon half siren who takes her sister's place at the dragon princes castle to pay off a debt.
Overall, it was a entertaining read. The enemies to lover was very short and wish it built more on the tension. There were a few scenes where I was confused on how we got there or why she reacted the way she did.
The world building was quick but also pretty easy to understand. I did enjoy the little plot twist there near the end. I have to say I wouldve never guessed that 😅
This was my first dragon book, and it was absolutely incredible! It kept me intrigued from the very first page, and I couldn't put it down. The banter between Draven and Aurelia was fantastic—she's such a badass! Their chemistry was on point, and the twists and turns had me stressed for both of them. The writing was exceptional, and the story was truly captivating. I'm eager for more! I highly recommend checking out *Dark Storm* by J.S. Rodriguez when it releases on June 3. The spice was just right, and it definitely earns five stars from me!
I adored the characters, and I became invested in them very quickly. I loved how unhinged the MMC was and the touch her and die trope was very well written. The enemies-to-lovers was really well done. I would've loved more yearning and tension but in the end their banter made up for it because it made me chuckle a lot! There were moments of pure chaos that my ADHD brain just loved. I don't mind it when plot is sped up at times.
I loved the dragons and mythical elements. The twist was awesome! I didn't see it coming at all.
I received this as an ARC (book sirens) and was interested from the start. The story follows Aurelia and Draven, but I wasn't quite sure where they where headed. I appreciated the enemies to lovers part of the story, but she kept running away and he had to keep finding her and it seemed repetitive.
I was glad the story ended the way it did, but it kind of left room for more; so maybe there will be another book. Thank you for choosing me to be apart of this book and I look forward to reading more from this author.
I received this copy from the author J.S. Rodriguez. Thanks for this book. This is an honest review.
After reading Ruin me little Vixen, I was fan of the author. And she did not let me down with this book. Although this book is about vampires and Dragons. I devoured this one to. The world building was amazing. I loved the FMC, a badass with a soft side. The MMC was possessive and kind of obsessed. And the story kept me hitched with all the twists and turns.
This book drew me in from the first page. A dark enemies to lovers romance alongside fun witty banter. She is strong & opinionated , he is obsessive, bordering on psychotic. I enjoyed the way their story unfolded, some scenes I don’t feel were necessary, where others I wish give us more, can’t say more without spoilers. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I’m interested in exploring more of this author’s work.
