What do you do when the pastor you married becomes the person you need protection from?

At 4 AM, Dr. Bridget Trammell fled with a newborn, a toddler, and just $97.
Raised in a strict religious environment where obedience was expected and appearances mattered more than truth, she learned how to survive. But survival came at a cost, unraveling into spiritual abuse, domestic violence, partner addiction, and coercive control.

In Trigger Warning, Bridget blends raw, lived experience with clinical insight to reveal how trauma reshapes the brain, the body, and identity. It impacts how we think, trust, attach, and even experience God.
But this book doesn’t just name the wounds. It shows you how to begin healing from them.
Now a trauma counselor, Bridget turns her escape into a roadmap for healing. Helping readers understand their patterns, reclaim their voice, and rebuild their lives from the inside out.

MUST READ!!

This book is incredibly powerful. The story is gripping and deeply moving, and I appreciated how it weaves together scientific insight with biblical counseling. If you’ve experienced any kind of trauma—big or small—this book offers both perspective and hope. Definitely a must-read.

healing for all

This book can be relatable to anyone (which is everyone ) who has lived loved and loss. It helps you realize how God is in our story and to not keep taking the pen out of his hand .
