Awakening Her Desires is my first read by Cassidy K. O'Connor. This book was well written. I enjoyed the characters and the story. There is plenty of heat for those that like their books on the steamy side. This is a short read, perfect for anyone with limited reading time. This is a complete story, not a cliff hanger, but I believe there is a second book that extends the story.

A Great Quick, Sexy, Fanciful Read
Awakening Her Desires is my first read by Cassidy K. O'Connor. It is the prequel to the Love's Protector series. It is a short but does not lack in story, the plot was very good, the characters were well developed and there was not that sense one sometimes gets when reading a short that there is something missing. It was not rushed, there was no cut off ending and best of all no cliffhanger ending that is common with shorts like this. I loved getting to know Keara, a very sexy faery with a penchant for kink. Keara is about to come of age, and has a huge decision to make, one that will affect the rest of her life and possibly that of many others. She has to decide whether to step up and do what is expected of her, or to turn and follow her heart. There was a lot of interesting lore in this story, and though with tales of the fae, origins are vastly different, this particular version is often used, and is Irish in nature. I enjoyed this read and was definitely left wanting more. It was sexy, and fun, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

First, I got this book from the author, Cassidy K. O'Connor, and Paranormal Romance & Authors That Rock for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. It had my normal genre (sci fi, fae) with a nice little twist. The main character has a conflict of character, between what she is "supposed" to do and what she wants to do. Something we can all relate to I am sure!! She takes a leap and does things her own way, searching for what she wants and grabbing it. The story is interesting, the characters are enjoyable and I would be happy to read another book by this author as well. Without giving you a spoiler, I found the concept/story line of this book different and enjoyable. Happy reading !!

This was a very quick book, and I was able to read it in one sitting. This is the first book I have read in this series. I really thought it was interesting. You have Keara who is in a fae clan, and she is about to pick her mate. I don't want to give anything away, but the book was really good. I wished it was a tab bit longer but overall I give this book 4 Stars. I will be reading more from this author as well. I love her writing style and how well written this book was.

I loved the back story and getting to know how Keara became a kinky faery. I love Irish lore and this met all my expectations. This is a fun, hot, and informative look at the Irish Faery clan. I felt for Keara having to make such a difficult choice of leaving her family but I am glad she followed her heart. I am looking forward to more stories of Keara.

This is actually the first book in the love's protector series. I wish I would have read it before I read the evolution of Sam. Better late than never. Awakening her desires provides us with Keara's backstory and more information about her missions. A great introduction to the series that should definitely be read first. Keara follows her heart and becomes the person she is meant to be.

I love the background and introduction to the characters. This is actually the first book I have read by Cassidy O'Connor, and I can't wait to read the others in this series! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I found the start of this series to be rather disappointing. The idea that men had to be trained, like dogs, to please a woman, was unsettling to me (and that it was THEIR job to do JUST that, and cater to the woman's every whim - wrong!). The idea that men, if left to their own devices would go around like dogs in heat acting like an a$$ just unimpressed me. The one redeeming quality was the idea of matching men with their mates before a rival Fae group killed them off. However, the lack of mention of a counter-point group for the female population did not sit well.
I did not care for Keara's character. She was too self-indulgent for my liking to be able to see what would truly benefit another person. I did, however, like the relationship between she and her training partner, Callie. (I really liked Callie, would like her to get more time.)

Sweet with heat!
This quick read was vastly different from what I expected from what a friend told me I had a fear that I would not like it. That was so wrong the plot was different and new, characters that were enjoyable and fun to read about, and the turn of phrase was splendid. I am thinking the tale has a bit of an Irish flavor I seem to remember a friends grandmother telling a tale of the Fae’s beginnings. I do not think there was anything naughty that Cassidy idea. Loved the book! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Cassidy K. O’Connor’s Awakening Her Desires is everything one would want in a prequel. As one who is familiar with the other two books in the series, it was refreshing to hear Keara’s background story. The novella begins with Keara, a young feary who is about to embark on her coming-of-age ceremony, a ceremony that will determine the rest of her life. However, Keara is restless; she does not want the conventional life of marrying one man and raising a family with him for the rest of her life. Instead, she discovers fearies whose beliefs are the complete opposite of what she has been raised to trust and believe in.
The novella is told entirely from Keara’s point of view, which is invigorating and stimulating all at once. Keara’s young, naïve voice is completely different than what the other two novellas portray as Keara is coming into her own in this prequel. O’Connor does a nice job with combining Keara’s fledgling voice with that of old Irish folklore. The combination of the modern elements and the antiquated traditions of Keara’s clan make for a unique and believable coming-of-age tale.
While O’Connor’s novellas typically clip along at a quickened pace, Awakening Her Desires is no exception. While I wish at times that more scenes were drawn out so that Keara could be developed as a character more, this is not O’Connor’s style. However, O’Connor’s heightened way of telling a story works tremendously for the stories she tells. O’Connor’s detailed account of Keara’s experiences does not leave much to the imagination, but it is perfect for the story.
Awakening Her Desires combines enormously humorous moments with sad and romantic moments told through the lens of a young Keara, who followers of the Love Protector Series have come to love. The novella is full of surprising twists and turns that will keep the reader invested in the story from page one.
I gladly give Awakening Her Desires 4 out of 5 stars.

First person, present tense.
If I buy a book expecting one thing and get another I might cry foul. However, this story was not at all what I expected and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The fae side was wonderful, the writing style & world building, brilliant!
So what am I going on about? I saw this book toted as femdom. Yes the men in 'this' instalment pamper the women/fae. However (apparently) the learn to be dominant you first need to be dominated... so in light of that the women were learning in this instalment. I am by no means saying that was a bad thing, the scenes were yummy. What's not to like about a man, painting your toenails, giving you a massage and pleasuring you ;)
I'm always partial to a bit of girl on girl loving, so that brief scene was a bonus for me. Yum!
I for one am excited to see where the author takes the series, and given it was toted as femdom I hope she ups the ante.

I found this to be a very unique and captivating storyline. .. Hot faeries that teach men how to be good partners how can you resist ... Keara knows there is something more to life then just getting married and having a family and she really needs to find it quickly... she has to make the hardest decision of her life but if she wants to be happy and find her place in the world she needs to take a chance and hope she made the right decision... I can't wait to see what happens next for Keara ....

Keara tries so hard to rein in on her desires, as she is getting ready for her coming of age ceremony it becomes even harder. Keara finds herself wanting a different type of life. Thankfully her mom understands. As she enters her new life as a fae working for Queen Cliodhana she finds her new job not only everything she desires but also she can be free to full fill her sexual desires.
