Tonight's plan is simple. Find Everett Callahan. Let him claim my heat. Take him apart.
I want to see the guy who owned that courtroom come undone for me. Maybe even beg. Lose that lazy control because an omega—because I—got under his skin so bad he can't think straight. It's revenge. Obviously. He humiliated my team and I've been pissed about it ever since. This is how I settle the score.
I'm full, wrecked, and my body is so content the revenge story won't stick. It slides off like water. Underneath is something I don't want to look at: I've never felt this good.
Your whole body is begging me, and your mouth is the only part of you that's still fighting. How long do you think that's going to last?"
I have to close my eyes and breathe through it. If this is what Everett Callahan does to me from thirty feet away, through a crowd, I'm in way more trouble than I planned for.
I laugh, and it's genuine, which surprises me. I don't usually laugh on the floor. The omegas here are beautiful, willing, and they smell like everything my biology wants, but they don't usually make me laugh. This one is standing in front of me, visibly wet through his jeans, scent screaming fuck me, and he's busting my balls. I like it more than I should.
His body is ready and his attitude is not, and I want to take him apart for it. Most omegas in heat want to be touched and they show it. This one wants to be touched and he's furious about it.
My hand slides down from his hip to his thigh and I can feel the wet where his slick has soaked through his pants. "Jesus," I say against his neck, and I mean it. He's drenched. "You're this wet and you're still talking shit?" "Fuck you."
"I want you," he says, and it's the most honest thing he's said all night.
"You're staring again," he says without looking at me. "You're interesting to look at." "You said that already." "It keeps being true."
