About the author

Emma has been a journalist for over twenty years. She has held posts at VOGUE, ELLE, Net-a-Porter and Stylist Magazine. She has also contributed to The Times, Conde Nast Traveller and The Telegraph. She is a beauty, wellness and travel journalist.

Her debut novel, My Other Heart will be released in the UK July 17th, 2025 and in the US August 6th, 2025. A story about belonging and identity that spans across decades and continents.

Emma is British Japanese and studied Modern Chinese studies at the University of Leeds. She completed the Curtis Brown Creative Six-Month Novel Writing Course and is also a Faber Academy Alumni.

She has spent much of her life living abroad in Japan, Vietnam, Australia, China, Singapore and the US. She currently lives in London and is working on her second novel.

After a moderate amt of time getting into the book and keeping the characters straight, I really enjoyed this story. Biological patents vs adopting can be very tricky. The 2 main characters were from the far east which made the story more complicated. In the end I couldn’t put it sown…
