The barrier has fallen. The king is gone. Tan has secured the artifact, but now the Fortress of Fire in Incendin burns more brightly than it has in a generation.
To master his connection to the elementals, Tan needs to rediscover knowledge about the elemental power that has been lost for centuries. When the draasin bonded to him is injured, Tan must rely on everything he’s learned to save him and discovers a new threat to the kingdoms more powerful than anything he's ever faced.
I'm really enjoying this series. For the most part, it's been pretty simple stuff as far as fantasy goes. This book added some new complexity, though, and that was good to see. The last half of this book was probably my favorite part of the series so far.
I also enjoy these books because they're nice, quick reads. I can easily knock them out in the course of a day.
So now Tan is a cloud warrior, his bond to the fire Dragon has become stronger. Tan battles the evil kingdom and the unseen threat that is revealed within his own kingdom.
Another fun little Cloud Warrior book. Maybe one day Tan will learn what the heck is happening and how to use his new powers. Until then. Good Luck Kid! I'll root for you, even when your Mom isn't.
There's a lot of annoying things about all these books. The main character being very stupid for one, even after 5 books. (I've read 5 so far) His ENDLESS stupid and pointless questions are a constant irritation. There's also a ton of repeating the same questions or ideas. Also he needs more editing. I haven't read any other books by Holmberg yet, so I don't know if it's just this series, but I sure hope his newer books are better because he does have what it takes to be good, he just uses way too much irritating fluff. This also makes for short books, which I'm not fond of
So, as always when you continue what should have been a trilogy something new must be presented. And lo and behold a new even more powerful enemy are suddenly here with abilities specific to hurt our main characters the most. Combine it with endless repetitions, and a dumb, foolish teenager, who acts like a 50 year old and you get a mess of a story.
This has a good story but didn't quite hit off with me. Tan seemed like all he was doing is whining. His mother is selfish and way over protecting. With all the Tam still figures out why the Incendin have been doing what they have. The threat the kingdoms face now is even worse than the Incendin.
For most of the book Tan acts like a whiney little bitch and is too soft to do what needs to be done. Zephra has assigned Tan to learn how to shape the elements without using the elementals. He's stubborn and thinks he knows more than he actually does. The Drassin is under attack on the border of Incendin. Tan goes against the adults who actually know how to use their powers and goes to help. No this couldn't go badly at all.
This one felt dark, melancholy and seemed to drag on. It took me days to get though, when i usually blow through a book like this in two working days max. I hated his selfish mother and she just pissed me off. There was nothing nurturing about her. She only thought of herself. I am not sure i will finish the series. I really had to force myself to finish this one.
One of the most creative and imaginative authors I've come across-and, even those its a series with lots of books, never ate you left hanging at a books end. Yahoo! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! :) :D
Lost in a world i don't want to find a way out of. Loving every minute of this set. Wish I could be there in the fight. Come join me and feed your spirit to the heros!!!!😇
The story continues with Tannen learning more about his capabilities. Which offers more questions than answers. I have enjoyed the journey so far. Moving on to the next book in the series.
Great character development. The hero is maturing . The enemy of my enemy can be my friend, or at least an alliance. I love stories that pull you in and make talk to them.
I still don't know how this author keeps creating more cool stuff. At the beginning of the series I was not that hooked and if you are in that stage I recommend you to keep reading. I think some books and even series don't start that hard and that's fine with me, but I'm glad that this serie continue to introduce more mystery and fantasy and problems, redefine evil. For me the books are getting better and better and I just can't wait to read number five
He grows and learns. The story continues as Tan learns more about the power he has. He also learns the importance of family and the bonds of friendship.
I have absolutely loved the Cloud Warrior Saga, the imagination of the entire series held my attention. It was great to just dive right into the story and get lost, in a very good way. That being said I move on to my thoughts on this series editing. Some of my ratings on these books were four stars instead of the five stars it would have deserved, I will give you a few of the reasons why I think this. The first is editing errors, whomever the "EDITOR" is needs to actually read the books. My next criticism is about how not all the books are marked properly (in the synopsis portion where you read what the e-book is about) with the order in which to read them. Also whomever did that whole debacle with the books order sucks and is off the Christmas list. I unintentionally read a few books out of order due to this. Someone please let all these editor's know not to add in a book later, then call it book 2.5. Holding back such minimal content is annoying, next time put the books that are under a hundred pages together in one book. I would pay extra to have that little convenient option. My last complaint is that I have just downloaded book eight in this series which makes me sad because I do not want the story to end. I highly enjoyed these books, the short little books in the series were more like short stories but that is just typical for me as I read fast. I had hoped the books would get magically longer that what they last more than one evening. Also I will be copying and pasting this review to the other books since it is more of a generalized review, plus it was not a spoiler review either; hate those. Buying any of these books in this series is worth it the imagination of them is great and the adventures are awesomely lively, enjoy!! -rcc

When the draasin bonded to him is injured, Tan must rely on everything he's learned to save him and discovers a new threat to the kingdoms more powerful than anything he's ever faced. This was my favorite out of all of them! Finally Tan is understanding his gift a bit more, and it's a good thing because what some may have believed was the main threat, is not even a smidgen compared to the actual evil waiting to scoop up all the power of the Elementals! This is a great series and has truly gotten magnificent the further in I get. I'm glad too, because many times, after the first few installments of a saga, they are just dragging you along on tons of idiot quests to get more money out of the customer buying the books. Not the case here! I'm very pleased! A great read!
DK Holmberg has once again enthralled me with this latest addition in the saga. I can't wait to get started on the next book. It's been a long time since an author has captivated me and taken me off to a fantasy land. There are a few authors that have the story-telling capability to make the reader unable to put a book down. I now count this author among them. It's a great story with complex characters and interesting twists.
The story just keeps getting better!! Tannen is finally learning something about his Shaping and connection to the Elementals. He's learning more about the Kingdoms history and what questions really need answered. Amia is still an instrumental force through their bond and is coming to some decisions of her own about the future of the Atae and if she will still play a part. Can not wait to see what happens next!
Not up to the standard set by the first three books.
The first three books had good pacing, good world building and awful editing. This fourth book has better editing but is in many places needlessly repetitive and struggles to get going. Towards the end it makes up for a lot of its shortcomings and I am still looking forward to reading the next two volumes.
Interesting character development, some well timed plot twists, and good bandwidth of relationships. I am already looking forward to book five after reading four books in two days!
Wow! Twists I didn't see coming. And finally there seems to be a semblance of peace between Amia and Zephra. Zephra is still my least favorite character, I'm hoping that in book 5 she displays some redeeming quality.
We see a cocoon and think of the caterpillar and not of the moth or butterfly that will emerge. The people of the Kingdom saw fire and only saw it as a threat... but we find that the threat may have been a butterfly emerging.
