Dan Walsh, bestselling fiction author of novels like The Unfinished Gift and The Reunion, has penned his first non-fiction book. Perfect Peace is a 31-Day Devotional crafted from the pages of Dan's personal journal, written over the last several years.
Here's an excerpt from Day 2: “If you’re like me, you’ve known moments of real peace. Moments when you’ve trusted God fully for your life, for everything going on in your life. In those moments, you knew real peace. The problem is, the word ‘moments.’ The moments didn’t last. The promise of Isaiah 26:3 is not to have moments of peace in our lives. The promise is that God would keep us in Perfect Peace.”
In Perfect Peace, Dan shares the Scriptural life-lessons he's learned during some of the more challenging times in his life, hoping to encourage other Christians wrestling with things like stress, worry or fear.
Dan Walsh is the bestselling author of 27 novels including The Unfinished Gift, When Night Comes and The Reunion. Over 1.3 million copies of his books are in print or downloaded. He's won 3 Carol Awards (finalist 6 times), 4 Selah Awards and 4 of his books have been finalists for RT Review’s Inspirational Book of the Year. His novels have received over 47,000 Amazon reviews (4.7 Avg).
A member of Word Weavers International and ACFW, Dan writes fulltime in the Daytona Beach area. He and his wife Cindi have been married 46 years. You can find out more about his books or follow him on other social media sites from his website at http://www.danwalshbooks.com.
I love Dan Walsh's novels, and having met the man and read some of his blog posts, it is easy to imagine him in his former pastoral role. So I was thrilled to learn he has taken some of his journal reflections and published them as a devotional book. Reading these devotionals is like having coffee with a spiritual mentor. Walsh speaks Truth with the wisdom of one who has walked (and is still walking) the road of the reader. With authenticity and humility, yet confidence born of a proven faith, Walsh shares how the reader can find peace in the midst of life's storms. This book will inspire and encourage you. Why not pick up two, one for yourself and one for a friend?

This is an excellent little devotional book. Especially good for those who tend to worry, like me! It speaks to your heart about the futility and actual harm of worry and fear. It came at a time when I needed it most, too. Dan Walsh is an excellent author who normally writes novels. However, he was a pastor for 25 years and has experience in dealing with this subject matter. It is great!
*I was given a copy by the author in exchange for my honest review, which I have given.
September 5, 2019: I had a copy provided by the author for this book when I read it the first time, but it was on an old Nook. I have now had a Kindle for years, so I wanted a copy for that device. It is still a powerful devotion book. I highly recommend it.
This is a beautifully crafted daily devotional that speaks directly to the heart, offering encouragement and hope in the midst of life’s uncertainties. Each short reading is like a gentle reminder that, no matter what chaos surrounds us, true peace is always within reach.
What makes this devotional so impactful is its simplicity and depth—Walsh combines Scripture, thoughtful reflections, and real-life applications in a way that feels personal and uplifting. It’s not just words on a page; it’s a daily breath of fresh air, a reset for the mind and soul.
Whether you're facing personal struggles, feeling overwhelmed by the world, or simply seeking a deeper connection with God, this book provides a steady source of reassurance. It helps shift focus from worry to faith, from stress to surrender, guiding the reader toward a peace that isn’t dependent on perfect circumstances.
It’s an easy, accessible, and inspiring read that can be a daily anchor, making a real difference in how you approach life’s challenges. ❤️
I loved this devotional and started it over right away to complete it back to back. I just need the to carry forward all of the lessons in scripture that are contained in the devotional. Dan Walsh is one of my favorite authors and the insights he provides are very helpful. I definitely recommend this.
WOW! What a great devotional. I started this book while exploring new-to-me authors using Kindle Unlimited short term membership though loved it so much I bought it after reading day two. Now a few weeks later I’m finished happy about that investment and placed this short devotional on my re-read shelf. I plan to read some of his fiction books as well and hope I’ll love them as much.
I stumbled onto this book and so desperately needed it! Every one of the 31 days met a need in me. I loved adding the short chapters to my quiet time each day. Dan's writing of this devotional was simple to understand in a time of grief. I'm going back to read it again!
As always, I am never bored. I love reading Dan's books. He has a great way of writing so the reader can understand. Just a refreshing and inspiring book. Thanks again Dan.
This devotional written by Dan Walsh is a perfect way to start your day. I highly recommend this as well as leaving time to pray with God! Don't be in a hurry, God may have a few things to talk to you about, too! Thanks, Dan!
Perfect peace - something we all seek, and desperately need. This little devotional was simple and sweet. It was encouraging to pick up every morning in addition to my study time. I always looked forward to reading it and I'm glad that I did.
I appreciated Walsh's insights and guidance in learning to stay my heart on Christ in order to know genuine peace. Each day in the devotion was thought-provoking and inspiring. Well worth a month's time spent reading, praying, and learning.
