When Jasmine Graves is invited to the set of the movie based on her book series, she thinks all her dreams have come true. The Vince Demarco, the man she's based her hero on for the past seven years, will be there and she can't wait to meet him. Little does she know that she'll have to face her worst fears to keep her leading man.
Vince Demarco has never been as intrigued by a character or an author before being introduced to the haunted werewolf he's been cast to play. So when he comes face to face with its creator, Jasmine Graves, he's awestruck. But he fears an author who's a reported recluse will want nothing to do with the paparazzi madness and crazy shooting schedule that comes with dating a movie star.
Neither one can deny the almost animal attraction that overwhelms them at first contact. But can an author and her muse breakthrough the barriers between them, or will the heat between them turn to ice in the winter cold of the Adirondack Camp?
I am a Contemporary Erotic Romance author. I love words. I love reading and writing and languages. I'm also an avid traveler. I've been writing for more than a dozen years and I've written everything from haiku to novels. I live with my loving family, a mountain of books, and my invisible cat who loves to snuggle.
Although actor Vince DeMarco hesitates to admit it, he is a huge fan of writer Jasmine Graves paranormal romance books. It is one of the reasons he is thrilled to be acting the role of her lead character and having her on set for a week is a win win.
Jasmine has a huge crush on Vince, of course she doesn't plan to share that knowledge but when she sees the feeling is mutual she gives into the chemistry they are igniting. Rumors are swirling on who is Vince's latest hookup is, but with Jasmine he is hoping for something more if she is willing to endure the spotlight.
Interesting read. I thought the way that the author mixed the settings of the book that was being filmed and the day to day of the people involved was intriguing. Definitely gives you a little incite on the writing process.
This novella/short story started out OK, but the further in I got, the more disappointed I felt by the story. Early on, Jasmine is nervous about walking across a frozen lake because of some traumatic event in her past. Then, romance occurs, then the traumatic event revelation occurs, and the story lost me. There was no need for this whole subplot. It was weak, it wasn’t particularly interesting, and it lacked credibility for me (summer camp-sized lakes don’t have undertows; the camp’s insurance costs would be really prohibitive.)
So, my overall feeling is that it reads like the author didn’t feel the romance was good enough, so they added this whole ice/accident subplot, but the story is too short to actually have much about it, making the whole thing just seem silly, and weakening the overall story.

This was a very good story, and I admit I would love to read more about Jaz and Vince. But what I would really love is a story about the characters in the books Jaz was writing!
Disclaimer: The author is a friend of mine. However, I purchased this ebook for full price.
This was a well-written novella that I found particularly humorous to read as an urban fantasy author myself. There is a certain amount of wish-fulfillment that I couldn't help but enjoy, considering the author main character is getting pretty much everything she ever dreamed of: a movie deal for her books, a sexy rendezvous with the attractive actor cast to play her main romantic lead, and the surprising knowledge that the attractive actor both loves her books and is equally attracted back!
This could have all felt contrived, but author Rachell Nichole injects just enough realism to bring the story back down to earth. For an erotica, I'm especially impressed by how the issue of birth control is dealt with in such a way that didn't feel jarring or break me out of the mood of the story. I think I'm spoiled for most other erotic writers, because Nichole is so deft at achieving the perfect balance between real life and unattainable fairy tale.
The pacing in this felt a bit rushed, but I'm unsure of whether it's because of the length of the book itself or whether the action in the story could have been stretched out over more days. However, life moves quickly on a film set, and life moves quickly when two people feel that certain spark.
