Ray has had it. He is sick of the diluted, manipulated and hopeless world he wakes to each day. He sees the world as a place with a future not worth striving for. His answer- to go on an unbridled killing spree. Ray encounters many facets of modern American life and attempts to dispose of each of them- all of which show him the ideals of anger, rage, revenge and redemption.
Ray is a man on a mission of destruction, and no one nor nothing can stop him. I admit to not particularly liking him, though do relate to him in various ways, as I think many readers would. He speaks volumes about many things that are distorted and dark in society, and then takes action. The adventure is thrilling, horrific and not without a bit of twisted humour to keep the reader engaged. This is definitely an interesting read for anyone looking to jump over to the antithesis of the American dream. It's almost post-apocalyptic without being futuristic or science fiction. An adventure from beginning to end.
The perception of the world, politics, religion, and war in this book are on point. In one way or another we can all relate to the main character and some of the ideas that take place throughout this book. Throughout this book you can't help but think about the things you have experienced or witnessed in your own life. This book will defiantly challenge the idealism that the entire world won't or can't be effected by one person's decisions.
