This book grabbed me from the first chapter and didn't let go. The idea of sending a film crew back to document the life of Christ is bold, and Zappalà pulls it off without being preachy or disrespectful. The tension comes from the mission falling apart, not from cheap action scenes. I loved the mix of Navy SEALs, a linguist, and a doubtful priest-scientist all trying to work together under impossible pressure. The ending left me thinking for days. Highly recommend.
